You can make one on MyFitnessPal. If people want to add me my username is saruilio. Things are going well so far. I agree, the late night stuff is the hardest to stop but it only takes a couple of days to break that habit.
I think I have a slight concussion from hockey so I don't think I'll get into the gym for a day or two but diet is at LEAST 75% of how you look. Bonnaroo is so far away so pace yourself! Try to lose about 1lb a week and switch up workouts to trick your body a little.
You guys be aware that you're not trying to lose "weight"...what you're trying to lose is body fat.
It seems to happen a lot that people who work out trying to "lose weight" step on the scale and get discouraged because the needle hasn't moved, when if they'd just take a measuring tape around their middle, they'd see that their waistline is shrinking. I think muscle's something like 18% denser than fat.
And again, the heavier you are the more your weight cycles on a daily basis...all the more reason to stay off that scale and stick to the tape.
Okay, I quit smoking on Monday so I'm not quite dieting yet but I am on my fitness pal (katbur2) and would love to have lots of you friend my fat ass. Honestly I'm just trying not to eat everything in site to substitute for a nice menthol. My goal is to lose 30 pounds by Roo although I have much more than that to go.
I added a couple of you to MyFitnessPal. My sn on there is the same as it is here. Please add me, anyone and everyone that is on the app.
Also, I need some help getting my caloric intake up. Today, I've logged less than 200 calories and yesterday finished the day with under 800. My BMR is 2100 so eating less than 100 cals is giving me a headache and I feel lethargic. I don't feel good.
My diet is: I've cut almost all carbs out, and most fats too. My diet consists of basically entirely vegetables and lean meats. No sugar, no fats and no carbs. Filling up on lettuce with no dressing isn't cutting it.
So, any suggestions to get my caloric intake up? It makes it tough to make my afternoon run when I don't feel like sitting up never mind getting off the couch

Gaining weight, I'm good at that. Okay, so you need to add some additional protein and some fats. Eggs, nuts, seeds all a good way to add both protein and some calories.
I used to go to Weight Watchers and I'd be so excited that I had points left, no good! You need to eat enough calories in order to lose weight. It took me years to figure that part out.
Yeah Surf, Kat said what I mentioned before. There's a huge difference between a good fat a bad fat... keep the good fats! A quarter cup of almonds is upwards of 200 calories alone. Also think of olive oil. Instead of steaming your veggies all the time, think about sauteing them with some EVOO and garlic too. Nom nom nom. Also, if you're keeping dairy, that's easy calories- cottage cheese, milk, feta/ blue cheese whatever on your salad....
And Scrog, I LOVE your attitude right now (and I'll totally be part of the Fat Ass Club with you).
So I am up exactly 5 pounds since December 7th. Mother f-er. For a total of 15 pounds more than what I weighed at Roo. The good thing is that I already got my ass back in gear a few days ago. I'm not eating a 100% well and my gym membership hasn't been used in about 2 months (damn you 60 bucks a month)... but I am doing way better already.... LET'S DO THISSSS!!!!!!
I just reviewed some stuff...between this week last year and 05/25/12, I lost 16.8 pounds. With my weight gain, that would put be just a taaad under where I was for Roo last year if I lost it again. My goal is 20 pounds by Roo, but I REALLY hope that I can be down more towards the 25 mark just so that I can look a little better.
Goals:
20 lbs down by Roo (or 25?!?)
Get back to my old gym/running routine = 3-5 days a week plus various outdoor activities once the snow melts...
Stop snacking on bread at job two aka bring healthy snacks
Only 1 happy hour per week --this is aimed more at the unhealthy food rather than the booze. I currently go 2-4 times a week (including weekends)
Only 2 nights of drinking per week (1 glass of wine on other nights ok.. for now)
All of these were done (and easily done) last winter spring... SO BRING IT, BONZAIIIII
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
I joined My Fitness Pal last year, friended some of you and then never went back. I may or may not get into that... I am technically on WW although I've never once followed their program (it just makes me weigh in every Friday). So if I want to track/ count whatever, WW's app is supposed to be fabulous. But I do want to hang with you classy folks... hmm

I turn into a Gremlin after about 8pm. Perfect diet all day, I work out. But once the sun goes down I'm an animal. I need to get out of the habit. I have, however, managed to keep off all but maybe 2lbs of the 20lbs that I dropped at the end of summer. Just need to get going again.

I completed my food diary for the day on MFP (first evvverrr!) and I drank just as much calories in wine as I did eating food. And severely underestimated my wine. And I'm not even drunk.

Oh dude I feel for you. Wine is just so dangerously delicious. I could drink GALLONS of the stuff and nothing piles on weight for me like wine. I found that doing the food diary thing really put it in perspective for me.
I just quit drinking during the week completely after Jan 1. I'm on a goddang mission to lose the last 20lbs. My tolerance is failing fast...had probably 4 glasses of wine last night and was SMASHED! I guess that's good?
Wine has so much carbs/sugars its just like eating a bunch of candy bars.
I think I'm going for ketosis starting the Monday after my birthday weekend and going for 2 weeks. I'm on a pretty low carb deal now. So if I go for ketosis, I get BACON!!!!!!
I know it's just my 2nd day using MFP, but I'm liking it. It's making me pretty accountable, knowing I have to log it all in. I have a good feeling about this!

No Moscato drinkers round here! We drink dry reds, like Merlot. It's lower in carbs than beer ( even some of the low carb beers). About 4 carbs per glass. But not lower than liquor. But I'm not drinking to be drinking. So liquor is off the list.
Bacon has always been the upside to doing low carb

Yesterday, after I typed out my plans to get fit, I went into the kitchen to get something to eat. On the floor, I found a fortune cookie, well no cookie, just the fortune. We have not had Chinese food in a long time, so to find this was kind of strange and an indication that I need to clean the kitchen floor. Anyways, it read:
"Moderate your appetite so that with a little you may be content."
Today, I found my Marathon. Walt Disney World Marathon, which is this weekend. Next year, I am going to run it.

YAY for all of our noobs on MFP and YAY for everyone making their way back here! And YAY for everyone who has kept at least part of the weight off after Roo!
These last few months for me have been really tough. My hormones have been making it oh so very difficult and I've not tried hard enough to overcome that. I have put on about 7 pounds of what I lost, but it could be worse. I'm back at it again though, as long as I can control my emotional/stress eating. After going months without a binge I've had a few in the last 2 months.
We are under 22 weeks until Bonnaroo. I would like to lose another 16-18 pounds before then. I'm not going to shoot for more because I've started working on weights along with the cardio. I need to eat enough to support muscle gain but not too much to support the fat loss. I'd like to be able to consider joining the Roller Derby team in Evansville, start taking the MMA classes offered at my gym, and I'd also like to be able to hang in a mosh pit like I did 15 years ago. Yes, I am crazy like that.

Dude, read this book. Seriously it goes fast and is loaded with info.
Folks who are using my fitness pal, is there any way I can change the allowances of protein, carb, etc? I'm going to do low carb so I don't need it telling me I have 100 carbs left for my day
