Taco, I love the C25K program. I used it 6 years ago when I decided to start running. I had never run in my life, besides at PE. My lung capacity was so bad that I ended up with exercise induced asthma. I lost the most weight I've ever lost just by running & eating better. Anywho, I ran off & on until a year ago when my back issues were identified. Now I can only use the elliptical & walk. I miss running.
Katbur, that's awesome! There is nothing wrong with walking a 5K. I need to sign up to walk some. I don't even think about it now that I can't run. I really want to do the Color Run. It looks like so much fun!

Started January 1 a disgusting 30lbs above my playing weight. Down 11 at this point, and if I move out, it will be even easier. Haven't read the entire thread, so I apologize if this is a repeat, but myfitnesspal.com is a great tool.

Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
I haven't found infofit yet but custephf found me. My wife and I are doing weight watchers...(well, she is. I refuse to pay for both of us) I found mfp to be a great way to track what I'm eating since I cant use the ww app...dougGmyrek, that's me, no typo...trying to lose about 45 lbs by roo (will put me at 185-190). I've found the hardest thing for me is I always seem hungry. Any thoughts?

I hit a weight on Friday that's lower than I've been since before I met my boyfriend. That was over 8 years ago! He came in the room last night and randomly said, "Damn...you're getting so thin!" Not that thin is as important as healthy, but every bit of encouragement helps.
Of course... I ate a ton of salt this weekend and went right back up a pound. But I know that's not real! ;D

I have just re-activated my MFP. Right around the time that school starts until after the holidays every hour of the day is occupied. But that's over now.
I found a bunch of my old "skinny" clothes while I was packing stuff in the attic. They are really cute.

Thanks lady, and great job to you on recommitting!! Bread is SO tough... even the gluten free bread isn't healthy and I find it REALLY hard to resist when its around...

I know almost nothing about dieting, just to get that out of the way first. I am blindly following a plan given to me by someone who knows me well and my eating habits, and knows health and fitness well because they have a thyroid condition. I have been on this diet for a couple weeks now and I have to say that it really has been easy. It comes from changing my way of thinking about food. The #1 change is:
Food is fuel for my body. It isn't for enjoyment.
Not to say that I don't occasionally eat for pleasure, on the whole I eat to fuel my body. I "cheat" one day a week or less. This time I'm going 2 weeks.
Once that changes for you, you will start to embrace the way your stomach feels with less or no carbs in it. Just start snacking on carrots and hummus or rolled up low far turkey breast or ham, no cheese. Add meats to our salads, that's a major help. Little to no dressing. Bake off 3-5 lean chicken breasts and munch on those.
If you just cut out carbs (meaning don't ever eat bread rice pasta potatoes etc, not Atkins) and rwduce fats, you can eat a ton of food. Just have to choose the right foods. I actually feel full often but am well below my target of 1500 calories a day.

I realized that I have been drinking for the past 5 days in a row... and a decent amount each time. 4 of the 5 nights was sugar filled wine... I'm pretty sure that's not the smartest way to drop the lbs.
