Thanks, Kayla! I actually don't have a sweet tooth though. Far from it. I sometimes go weeks without a sweet- no problem! My issue is cheese.. and pizza... and nachos...
My problem too. I could live the rest of my life without sweets. But not carbs and cheese! I told someone this week that I would marry spaghetti.
Same here. I have zero interest in sweets but bread, cheese, and peanut butter are my heroin. Pizza is like unprotected sex*. For me what works best is to never keep these things around the house, that way if there's a major craving I have to make an extra effort to go get them. It's a good deterrent.
I joined a gym at the end of October and have been hitting it five times a week. For me it's all about distraction. I load up on good podcasts and go during Blazers games. If I don't have to think about it then I can workout hard for two hours or more. I'm also lucky enough to live in a city that has lots of outdoor opportunities. I hike at least once a week to change up my environment and bring along the dog. The woods are a great place to get fit. Plus the Gorge is beautiful no matter how many times I've gazed upon it.
*If you happen to know a pizza that's cool with being raw dogged then let me know.

I wish I could not keep bad stuff in the house. My boyfriend LIVES on pizza so there is always pizza in our house. I do my best not to eat it but some days, I'm just too fucking tired to make dinner. I did well one day last week. I made my boyfriend regular pasta and I had zoodles. I was a bit grouchy about it at the time, since pasta is my absolute favorite, but I was also proud of myself for resisting. It just sucks that I have to make two separate dinners. Extra dishes (when you don't have a dishwasher, this is forefront in your mind) and extra time.
My boyfriend does manual labor and doesn't need to lose weight, so he eats whatever he wants because he'll burn it off.

What the heck are zoodles? Do you make them with a Vegetti!?

Yes I did! They are zucchini "noodles". A decent substitute for pasta. I've tried boiling them but I prefer to just saute them in a pan with olive oil. They (obviously) contain more water so your meal will be a bit watery, but still pretty good.

That sounds really good to me! I'd do zucchini pasta with marinara and mushrooms! Yum!
I am still using my Fitbit One and it's been a great motivational tool to walk/exercise more. Any new Inforoo users on Fitbit? If so, send me your email and I will add you. I just have a few fitbit friends at the moment.

Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

Thanks Bonz!
I used to run long distance but fell off the running wagon. I'm back to lifting weights and eating healther. 3 Months into it, 10 lbs down. My kid turns 4 this week so it's just finally time to get rid of my baby fat lol

HI EVERYBODY! Happy lineup drop day! Happy goalsetting for Roo day!
I'm back on the fat loss train. Been keeping up with my exercise, but when I started lifting again in November, I realized I'm gaining tons of muscle mass but you just can't see it under this soft squishy duvet of fat I've gathered. Its a nice duvet, but I'd like to show off what I've been working on...
Been on a cut (if you can call it that) since the 5th: Eating at/below my RMR, 1g protein/lb body mass, .4g fat/lb body mass, shooting for -1000cal/day deficit on average. Macros around 45p/30f/25c (was 60/20/20 but I was feeling crappy). Down 5 pounds so far. Goal is 40lbs lost by Roo, which is aggressive but not impossible.
Training for a half marathon here. Finally moved somewhere with frequent races. Should give me more motivation than I had last year training for an imaginary race.
A few weeks ago I decided I wanted to lose 15 lbs. I lost 5 pretty quickly just from eating clean. So I'm trying to be very disciplined Mon-Fri but letting myself eat some fun stuff and drink a bit on weekends. I love seeing what everyone does for their workouts!
I was going to start a 200 day challenge to see how much weight i could drop before Roo and with work and the holidays i have procrastinated quite a bit. So now its going to be more of a 181 day challenge. Why not 182? I told you already, I work.
hahaaha, look at me being all cute and shit. Well the 181 150 day challenge did start on time and I'm finally rocking and rolling. I plan on running a Spartan race in May so heres hoping i don't get lazy.
I was trying to get in shape. I was hiking and broke my ankle. I had lost over thirty pounds. Lesson is...mother nature is a bitch! At least I've got a cool scar. Oh and now I have a metal plate and eight screws so airport security is fun. I like fingers in my butt now. It's not super gross, but I included some images below behind the spoiler in case someone is super squeemish.

did maybe the most stereotypical January thing and joined a gym with pie in the sky ideas of getting back into the shape I think I'm in but actually haven't been in for years now. Been once so far, ran for a while and thought I was going to die. Next week the real regiment begins now that I finished up some other crap.
Main goal: get a medal in the Roo Run 5k this year after the past two years of just missing the cut.
Secondary goal: get buff so when I bump into Brandi Carlile on the farm she'll be all like "hey Roonectar, you’re looking real tone" and I'll just say "hey thanks, wanna get married? Obviously she'll say yes, just like every night in my dreams

Definitely in on the Roo weight loss goals. Looking to drop 30lbs. I've been doing a slightly modified south beach diet and have had good success so far losing 9 lbs in the first 2 weeks (though I feel much of that was probably excess holiday weight and it will slow significantly now). Haven't had any sweets or good (tasting) carbs in 2 weeks and I'm contemplating a cheat day this weekend. Not sure though.
Pretty much just cardio so far, but am thinking of getting back into some weight-training.

Yeah I know image overload, but here is my skeleton
I've got a back full of metal. The airport metal detectors never pick it up and security just laughs at me when I tell them.
I've been gyming pretty regularly lately. Trying to keep up the habit once classes start next week is going to be the real challenge.
That's good to know. It just happened in November so I haven't flown yet. I was wondering how that would work. Doc says I can hit the trail again in March and I can't wait to start my activity back.

Hey me too! Spinal fusion? I've got Harrington rods (well, 'Boston' rods--a variation), C6-L3. I've never set off the scanners either which I find interesting...there's a heckuva lotta hardware in there. Lifting helps mitigate pain, but dudes always want to correct my form in the gym, which just looks odd because my biometrics are different.

Yep! I'm fused the whole way down thanks to scoliosis. There's rods, screws, wire, plates. But at least I have perfect posture! The only thing that's picked up the metal has been the x-ray scanner things.
I want to get into more lifting to strengthen my core, but honestly, I'm kinda intimidated by it and a bit lazy. Don't think I would handle dudes trying to correct my form very well either. I did find a nice 30-day HIIT routine to start, so I don't have any excuses because all of the workouts I can do at home. I figure it's a good place to start since the workouts mimic what I used to do in basketball and softball practices. If only I had access to a basketball court, I could run suicides and be the happiest, sweatiest lady in town.

I'd advise that you opt for a cheat meal instead of a cheat day. Cheat meals are important because you need to keep your sanity and enjoy your life, but a cheat day can very easily offset the progress you've made during the week.

Agreed. A cheat meal may be a few hundred calories more than usual, which in the grand scheme is okay. A full cheat day can put you a few thousand calories over, which actually can offset a week's worth of work. Unless of course your cheat meal is something crazy like an entire pizza and tray of brownies.
Also - is the 'Roo 5k still a thing? Or was it only the one year

Thanks guys. Definitely opting for the cheat meal rather than the cheat day. Now just need to figure out if I want the pizza or the pan of brownies since having both is obviously frowned upon.

Y'all, I think I need an intervention. I can't stop shoving crap down my pie hole and I can't get motivated enough to drag my ass to the gym. Winter sucks.

But but but, we're gonna shove crap down our pie holes on Thursday together!! There's safety in numbers
I haven't been to the gym in almost two months. I have no excuse for the first month but for the last month I've been sick. I've also used stress at work as an excuse to eat whatever I Still eat decent things for my meals, but I've been eating more ice cream and cookies than normal
Getting fit (again) for Roo is my new goal. I'm training for a marathon, but I'm also doing Whole 30 during the month of January. I feel pretty good, and even though I'm only half way through I'm contemplating staying with cleaner eating (just not this strict) after I'm done. Any other paleo type people around here?

At least you're finally feeling better now. It's so hard to get back on track once you get derailed.
I'm not even gonna try to be good on Thursday. I want to be good tomorrow, but I have leftover cheese balls and home made bread that I made for my nephews wedding today. Maybe I can just try to make sure I'm eating veggies and/or fruit with every meal and lay off the sugar this next week. That's a start I guess.
As for the gym, I have to go back to the podiatrist on Monday. I don't know yet if I'll be getting a large bore needle or a scalpel to the toe, but I do know I'll get one or the other, so it's safe to assume work is about all my foot will be able to handle for a few days.
