I used to get so many more steps in my last position. Since I've got my Fitbit back, I rarely hit goal on weekdays. My job rarely requires me to move. The water cooler is ten steps away, the bathroom is 4 doors away, my coworkers are all in a row next to me, I rarely take a lunch and it's not far to my car. In Admissions, an average day where I didn't walk extra/put in extra effort, I would usually be around 3-4k by the end of the work day. In this position, I rarely hit 2k on a normal day. Yesterday, I put a decent amount of effort into getting more steps, walked across campus to get my coffee and tried to go to a different water cooler, etc.. Still only hit 4k at the end of the day. Need. More. During. Day.

This is my life..... If it's super hot outside I try to go up and down the stairs at least a few times a day. If the weather is decent I make the effort to walk around the parking lot at least once a day. It's not much, but it's better than nothing!
Starting the 30 day juicing diet from the fat, sick & nearly dead movie today. Been caffeine free for nearly 3 weeks now, so no worries there. Also, I've been reducing my alcohol intake lately. U Thx god I have some good green lol

Good job. I need to cut back on the alcohol and get back to running 4+ miles.
What a week! No booze, soda, solid food, caffeine or dairy. Just fruits & veggies thru a juicer.
I lost 11 pounds in 7 days, holy shit! I weighed myself 3 times cuz I couldn't believe it lol.
Days 3-5 were rough and I felt lethargic during that period.
I'm on day 9 and I haven't felt better in the last 8 years. My skin is clearer, I fall asleep easier, wake up feeling refreshed and I actually have the energy to do stuff now haha.
So who is still active on fitbit? Lets get into the habit of doing challenges.

It was fun and rejuvenated me. I haven't really done much lately to get my steps up with the exception that I am getting back into the habit of walking to Cheesecake/dinner/happy hour haha. If I hit goal on a given day, it's mostly by chance. I need to change that!

I don't have a fit bit-I be poor. HOWEVER, I have been walking on the track at school in between classes. it's only twice a week but I feel soooo much better on the days I do it! I have the energy for the 17 hour days that happen to be my life I've also been cutting meat out of my diet, only eating it one or two times a week. I feel like that is helping my weight loss too, even if for simply lack of choices. hahahaha
Edit: and I'm officially 15 lbs down. baby steps...LET'S DO THIS!!!!!

I am in a challenge with my mom, sister and best friend this week. My mom, who is retired, is kiiiiicking my buttox. She got around 22-23k on Monday or Tuesday too.
So last night I was walking home from the movies and realized that I desperately needed steps. I was a few k away from goal and it was already 10:00. If I take a certain path home, the sidewalk actually leaves the road and goes along a brook for the length of a city block or so. I was taking that route and decided to dance. I kicked off my shoes, opened YouTube and let lose. Twice, a jogger went by me and I didn't even realize that he was there until he was right next to me. I bet it was hysterical for them. Random girl dancing to Cut Copy/ TbT in the dark next to the path.

I am definitely in. I've tried really hard to be more active this week. One reason (there are many) is that I took my initial step in becoming a living donor Tuesday. My friend's kidneys are failing fast, and I really want to do this ASAP. It's between me, her sister, & her nephew, so hopefully one of us can donate.

I haven't worn my fitbit in about a month It was just depressing me, how few steps I would take on workdays. There is little I can do about it.
I am, however, still working out regularly and still losing weight, little by little. I pigged out last weekend on our mini-vacation and only gained a pound (it's gone now). That makes me happy beyond measure.

It would be awesome to have you join us on, but I understand about how depressing it is. On a day where I have no cross campus meetings, no chores to run, and don't make the extra effort to walk at lunch or the like- I would finish the day in under 1000 steps. It is quite depressing. Some days, I will do everything in my power to get extra steps and I am still only at 3k or so at 4:30 Being in a challenge really is the extra push to get moving. I find myself running in place when no one is around! Last night, instead of going into the venue when the doors opened (I was there and ready), I walked around the block a few times until it was closer to show time- I would not have done that if I wasn't neck and neck with like 4 Inforoo gals!

Charge HR. I got and lost the Flex twice. It kept falling off, but the Charge HR has a watch clasp. Other people have no issue with the Flex though. It must be the way I move- I hit my arm against my body perhaps?

I have a FitBit One.
My HR manager bought it for me and it works for me. But if I had to do it all over again I would get the Charge or Flex. I just bought this for it, so we'll see how I like it.

In the past week, I've decided to get serious about getting my steps in. I run in place while brushing my teeth. Same for at night when I need to meet my goal. I've turned on music & danced to get steps. During the day, I find reasons to get up and take steps. Like not putting the mail out for the postman to pick up, forcing myself to walk to the nearest mail box. All the office purging is helping too. And, I bought this for my desk.
my garmin vivofit just came in the mail! it's definitely not as sleek as the fitbit, but hopefully it'll do the job. i know most of you have fitbits, but if anyone has garmin, let me know, and we can hold each other accountable. either way, send me those "getting in my steps" snaps to keep me moving.

i've been passing my 10,000 step goal every day so far. i'm more excited that i've increased the weight on the leg machines at the gym. i started at 50lbs on each machine a few months ago. today i did my normal routine, but at 120lbs! my arms are still made of mashed potatoes though.
