I certainly didn't slack on trying out the food vendors this year! I showed an initial 15lb gain when I got home, but have lost 8 of it and my feet are still slightly swollen. By the end of the weekend I'll probably know whether I gained or lost, but I'd say I'm up a couple pounds at least.

Thank you everyone for the wealth of support in this thread and such. My sixth Bonnaroo and I'm calling it my best. I loved that I had energy to do things. I love that I didn't need to take taxis to Centeroo. I love that I could stand at the end of the day without grotesquely swollen feet.
I hope this doesn't come off as bragging, I want everyone out there to know that 'losing' is possible-- and when you do it will have such an effect on your life you won't even realize.
My journey is not over, still a long ways to go. But to date, this here was the proudest moment of my life...

I had lost 9lbs before Roo, but lost 6LBS in 4 days at Roo. I drank massive amounts of water and only ate one meal a day plus small snacks (grapes/jerky).

gardenfresh you should be so proud of yourself. it's been inspiring following your journey, and i'm glad that you got some concrete proof that you can do this!
Just weighed in....I gained 13lbs and I'm not even mad about it. I Probably couldn't do that if I tried. Back to the diet and 7 day a week workouts starting Monday.

I had to lay it on extra thick because of how shy I was with you the previous year. You owe me a dance!

So, I took 3 (almost 4) weeks off from eating right/working out. Yesterday started back on my fitness -- eating healthy/lifting weights. I'm SO sore (leg night) that I can barely function today. I've cut back my caffeine to 1 coke a day and the sleepy is kicking my butt.
At roo 2014, I was 20lbs heaver than 2015. I would like to see that happen again, especially considering I still need to lose 30ish lbs to be at a healthy level. So I have all year to really buckle down and hit it hard. July 2nd will be my 8th month of my fitness journey and even though I took a break this past month, it was much needed.
I went full blown hippie and bought a hoop. After the long conversation I had with a hooper at roo, it got me curious. We will see what will happen with that. Any additional workouts (hooping) can't be bad for me. So why not?
I also would like to lose enough weight and tone up so that next year, POSSIBLY, I can do a handstand on the farm. I know it takes awhile to build up to that so I'm starting now. Does anyone have experience with handstands? I've done a little research online and it's just one of those crazy goals I've set for myself.

I'm guessing you don't like coffee if coke is your caffeine source? Cutting out/reducing liquid calories goes a long way if you can do it.

Another option for caffeine is tea I always thought "tea? schya right... that's for people with sore throats and the Chinese." but then one day I just realized-- omg, I am a tea drinker. Its healthier than coffee, black tea has about 50% caffeine that coffee does, green tea has tons of health benefits in addition to being caffeinated, and there are like a 1,000 varieties that you can try to find your perfect taste. You can make anything into an iced tea, just use twice as much and then pour over ice. voila. iced tea.
I'm really not a tea fan, although fresh brewed iced tea is plentifully available to me at Cheesecake so over the years, I have ground an affinity to iced black tea with lemon. I only consider hot tea when I am desperate for caffeine and coffee is unavailable.

if you couldn't tell, I love tea.
I like what you're saying. I know coke is horrible for you. I do like tea, but usually only have it hot and I don't care for it hot. I will definitely look into this!!!! Thanks so much
EDIT: I bought supplies to make this tea trial happen. They don't arrive until next week but looking at the caffeine content... I was shocked. Definitely excited to try! again, thanks!!!
About 2 years ago when I committed to being healthier and lost about 35 lbs fairly quickly I didn't make many major changes: I ate a little healthier, was a little more active, but I cut out all sugary drinks. It's really hard for like 4 weeks but it gets so much easier after a little time and now I have almost no desire for sodas.

This.
I've seen my brother and one of my closest friends lose 30 - 50 pounds and keep it off. The only thing they did different was eat smaller proportions and drink almost nothing besides water.

The upside is that my body doesn't like sugar that much, so I am actually still relatively full and yucky feeling from that donut so it'll be my caloric intake until dinner. (I should probably just put this salad in the fridge so it doesn't die...)

My fitbit hasn't been charging properly since Roo. What I did to it to make it not work anymore I can only imagine. I emailed their customer service a few days ago and they gave me some troubleshooting tips to try and no luck. So I emailed them again and they are sending me a new one for free!
i braved the rain this morning for outdoor yoga class downtown. it was actually refreshing (aside from my mat getting a little slippy) with the breeze and drizzle. it was especially worth it when my sister fell out of crow pose and kicked the free iced coffee all over us! it's not easy to balance when you're belly laughing.
I did Roo and Firefly back to back. Walk 275,000 steps, drank probably 100 beers, and ate lots of bacon. It all evened out perfectly! Left at June 9th at 190.4 and came back at June 22nd at 190.2. (or vice versa)
i'm still doing the free yoga classes in downtown pittsburgh every weekend. i'm signing up for a class at pnc park, which includes yoga in the outfield and a ticket to the pirates game that day. i also just signed up for a class at carrie furnaces, an amazing old blast furnace (the place where they taped american ninja warrior, if you saw my snaps from that night). that one includes free beer afterwards, and brunch at the brewery that is hosting the event. the city is doing so many awesome fitness things this summer.
