i really will be amazed if APW is back again. Radiohead made that 'festival' if you could even call it that. dont get me wrong - i had fun - but there were just waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too many problems with that thing.... in any event - if radiohead wants to come back for 2 nights - im there.

i read somewhere that it is happening and also the vineland fest that was cancelled last year. it was in an article about some festivals struggling, while others are still thriving.
I really hope APW comes back. They had a pretty sick lineup last year, and it'd be a lot more doable for me than most other fests. If they get something this year that's half as good as two nights of Radiohead, I'm there.

i wouldn't expect apw to be back it didn't seem to me that between all the stages and amount of money they had to spend on police they wouldn't have made enough money judging by the amount of people that showed up
ther AEG Live-promoted festivals returning for their second year include All Points West Music & Arts Festival across the Hudson River from Manhattan and Mile High Music Festival in Denver, AEG Live CEO Randy Phillips tells Billboard. The lineups for those festivals have not yet been announced.

I think Virgin usually announces in April or May or so? The other Vfests do better, but Branson's got super deep pockets and for a USA presence, I don't think this fest is goin' anywhere
As far as the other... Radiohead was one of the BEST concerts I attended last year, and APW was the hands down the worst fest I have EVER attended... I don't know what lineup could get me back there again...
1) no camping 2) not enough bathrooms in good locations 3) no beer outside of cramped beer gardens 4) a ticket limit for beers! 5) too many cops 6) the cool view of the statue of liberty was not in the background of the stage 7) getting to and from the venue 8) it was really just a radiohead concert with some other bands - no community feel 9) ridiculous food shortage. i must have waited 30 minutes to get a sub-par burrito.
that's off the top of my head. there were some good things - i.e. the store there was well managed.

^^^ And the main "Gardens" were centrally located so that the sound from the 3 stages bled together into a mess while you were drinking your allotment of 5 beers... and you couldn't see any of the stages from the beer prisons either

Virgin is not so awesome, and despite living just 45 minutes from the site, I don't know if I would ever return. Festivals in urban areas just don't do it for me. The atmosphere is all wrong, there are too many normies and cops, and it just feels wrong.
The only -- and I do mean ONLY -- good thing about Virgin Fest was that we were able to get on the rail for every show we wanted to see (of course, that meant camping out for part of the day and enduring obnoxious teenagers who only wanted to see Citizen Cope and Jack Johnson). Seriously the rudest group of people I've ever encountered at a festival. I felt bad because I took my exchange student and he noticed the bad behavior, too.
I'd be very surprised to see Vineland happen in this economy.
Sorry I should clarify. The only two fights I have ever been in at a festival was at Virgin. The first year was due to this person picking fights with men who were drinking Hurricanes and calling them *place homophobic slurs here* when he started with me I chucked my drink at him and a fight insued. The second year was due to me not having a shirt on (I have a large tattoo of a clipper ship on my chest ) and these yound men screaming *argggg* behind me. When I turned around and asked them if they wanted to see my treasure they assaulted me. Security escorted them both out. The last year I avoided everyone and eveything. $6 pizza + $9 beers + douchy guys = no garageland.

not my particular favorite lineup.....but I may go in for a one day saturday pass. Tool/Gogol Bordello/Tim and Eric would be worth it for me.
the rest of the lineup.....not so much. Why are Vampire Weekend and MGMT so high up? I know they got big last year but to be third on the bill of certain days is crazy IMO.
The comedy isn't bad......the music isn't so much my taste though.
I disagree. While it doesn't have Radiohead like last year, I think the line-up as a whole is a lot deeper than last years.
Friday: Beastie Boys, The National, Fleet Foxes, Organized Konfusion, Heartless B@stards, Flying Lotus, Arj Barker, Bo Burnham
Saturday: Tool, My Bloody Valentine, Gogol Bordello, the Cool Kids, Kool Keith, White Rabbits
Sunday: Echo and The Bunnymen, MGMT, The Black Keys, Silversun Pickups, Mogwai, Ghostland Observatory, Gaslight Anthem, Akron/Family, Steel Train, Todd Barry
To me, if I was going it would be worth putting down 200 dollars. Last year when I saw the line-up, I stuggled to pick at least 10 bands I would have liked to see.
