There's some good stuff on that lineup - I'm entertaining the idea of getting a day pass for Sunday at the moment. I actually think Friday has a slightly better lineup, but all the music I'm really interested on Friday is stuff I've already seen.

APW is the scum of all fesitvals. False advertising. Tyrannical treatment of festival goers. Extremely limited number of porta-potties - like less than 20 for over 40K people. The despicable beer drinking pens where you can't hear or see the music, but must remain if drinking a beer.
APW IS THE OPPOSITE OF FUN. THE PEOPLE WHO RUN IT SHOULD BE KILLED! IT IS A DISGRACE TO THE VERY CONCEPT OF ENJOYMENT. EVERYONE WHO ATTENDED LAST YEAR IS ENTITLED TO OUR MONEY BACK. F U C K THEM!
^I'll keep all that in mind... a friend is wanting to go for MBV,and I'd like to see a few on the lineup... plus, I'm a beer drinker, so it sounds like a no go.

Also I have a feeling they will get better as time goes on. They put on Coachella every year so I assume they know what they're doing when it comes to festivals. I guess I'll see in late july/august.

Only go to APW if you hate yourself and Rock n' Roll. They do run Coachella. That is why if you put a gun in my mouth and told me to attend Coachella I would tell you blow my fucking head off instead. I will never put a goddamn red fucking cent in that scumfucking company's pocket. Did I mention that the sun sets right behind the stages and completely blinds you so you can't even see the show. Last year the web site showed the staged with NYC and the Statue Of Liberty as the back drop. Photoshop = false advertising = fraud. They do not publicize the fascist mistreatment of beer drinkers because they know that they won't sell tickets. Omitting critical information is dishonest and constitutes fraud. Don't feed the dishonest anything but poison.
They said they were going to fix the beer/beergarden situations this year at APW but we will see. If they are the same as last year I will probably be skipping the alcohol this year.

I LOVE the dueling CRAP festivals with (kinda) great lineups thread!
That said, I had a GREAT time at Virgin 2007, despite all the yuckiness... whereas @apw last year, EVERYTHING was torture... except for the[glow=blue,2,300]FANTASTIC[/glow] Radiohead, which we had to leave from early because we KNEW the several hour clusterfuck the ferry lines were going to be (were) if we did not
Sucks you have to go to MPV to pick up will-call tix days before the festival. Pretty much makes it impossible to get will call unless you live in the area.

I got my free pair! Sweet. Yeah free festies usually suck balls, but this is better than anything I normally have going on a Sunday, and it's like a half hour away.

They can't fix it. It's a communist state of NJ state park. The state law prohibits free consumption of alcohol in the state parks. This proves their complete and total dishonesty combined with a complete and total disregard for the attendees twofold.
1. False advertising. Continued dishonesty. A bletent smurfing lie. They cannot change the situation.
No alcohol is permitted in ANY New Jersey State Park. Permits are not available.
2. If they gave a damn about the public who attends they would relocate the "festival". Randal's Island would be a good choice.
Furthermore, if they gave a nuts about putting on an enjoyable festival they would have relocated last year. It's not they didn't know until the last minute that the beer situation would need to be handled in a human hearding concentration camp like manner.
They could have also had a dry festival which would be fine. I might not attend, but there is nothing wrong with that AS LONG AS THEY HONESTLY AND CLEARLY DIVULGED THE INFORMATION TO PEOPLE BEFORE THEY PURCHASED TICKETS!!!!!
Did they say that the number of porta-johns would reflect basic human decency on the part of the planners. That is a matter of public health and safety that they willingly dismissed. If you have never Heard of Tycho Brahe, he was Dutch astronomer (discovered the two moons of Mars) who died of a ruptured bladder because he was forced to hold it too long. quack APW!
Yeah I thought it really sucked last year. I was with friends that wanted to drink and I did too. I found it easy to buck the system though - we found beer servers that would give us two beers for one tab and also I just wiped the X off my hand with hand sanitizer and went back in line to get another wristband. I was so intent on bucking the system that I ended up chugging like 12 beers in about three hours and then I had some corn too and got dizzy and ended up in the fetal position on the ground during Radiohead puking my guts out. The thing that really sucked about this is that in the beergardens you could not see any stages and you could not even really hear the music.
Going Friday only this year and the lineup is so stacked with bands I want to see I will probably not be spending much time in the beergarden anyways.
The more people who attend that abuse fest, the more likely other events are to follow their example. Burn your ticket in the name of decency.
I went to APW all three days last year and had a shit ton of fun. I can't wait to go back this year. I don't know what your talking about but you were obviously expecting far too much. All I ever see when people complain APW is the freakin beer gardens. Do you go to festivals to get drunk or to see music?
