I would say the "highlights" of Lolla for me last year were the nonstop talking during Radiohead and the 16 year old girl who kicked me in the back of the head while surfing during KANYE giving me a dirty look like it was my fault.
I had an awesome experience with the crowd at Lolla last year, it was my first festival ever and I had a blast! I'm doing Bonnaroo instead of Lolla this year cuz it'll be easier to get friends to come, and the lineup is better than Lolla this year.

Great bands, terrible atmosphere.
Anybody who goes to see Kanye deserves a swift kick to the head.

Haha, yea, I was amazed at how many people trickled into NIN after they realized how stupid they were for believing Obama was gonna be there to introduce Kanye.
The Killers and Tool are expected to fill out the headlining slots for the fifth annual Lollapalooza festival Aug. 7-9 in Grant Park.
Multiple industry sources confirmed over the weekend at the South by Southwest Music Conference in Austin, Texas, that the two bands will join headliners previously reported by the Tribune: the Beastie Boys, Depeche Mode and Jane's Addiction, plus Kings of Leon.
White Denim - 8/13-14 Power of the Riff - 9/1-2 Bruce Springsteen - 9/19 & 9/21 Gonjasufi - 9/24 Jay Z - 10/4 Animal Collective - 10/5 Swans - 10/10 GWAR - 10/16 New Order - 10/18 Squarepusher - 11/1 Bassnectar - 11/18 Neil Young & Crazy Horse - 11/27 Bonnaroo 2013 - ???
I would love to see Tool again but the other headliners make this a no-go for me. But I wonder if this means a new Tool album and possibly other dates?

yea, they wouldn't be playing a show if there wasn't.
Tool have confirmed via their official website, www.toolband.com, that they will be hitting the road this summer for a tour. While dates have yet to be announced, the band are highly rumored to appear as a headliner at this years "Lollapalooza" festival, which will take place in Chicago, IL on August 07th-09th.

Fail. This lineup is turning into a major sausage factory... they're gonna need one heck of an undercard to compensate.
I take that back (slightly). If Lou Reed is playing a greatest-hits set with Fernando Saunders, that is a good start. Although it won't be quite the same without Robert Quine.

This seemingly reputable blog (http://faronheit.blogspot.com/2009/03/lets-talk-lolla.html ) claims that 90% of the following list are confirmed for Lollapalooza (54/60 bands listed).
Beastie Boys Depeche Mode Jane's Addiction Kings of Leon The Killers Tool
...And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead A.C. Newman Andrew Bird Animal Collective Atmosphere Band of Horses Bat for Lashes Ben Folds Ben Harper & Relentless7 Bon Iver Chairlift Cursive Delta Spirit Dirty Projectors Eagles of Death Metal Eels Ezra Furman and the Harpoons Fleet Foxes Franz Ferdinand Friendly Fires Glasvegas Heartless Bastards Kaiser Chiefs Langhorne Slim Lily Allen Lou Reed Matt & Kim Metric MSTRKRFT Neko Case OK Go Passion Pit Paul Green's School of Rock All Stars Peter Bjorn and John Ra Ra Riot Rancid Razorlight Regina Spektor Rise Against Rodrigo y Gabriela Sam Roberts Band Santigold School of Seven Bells Silversun Pickups Tenacious D The Airborne Toxic Event The Decemberists The Gaslight Anthem The Hold Steady The Raveonettes TheNewNo2 TV on the Radio Vampire Weekend Yeah Yeah Yeahs
I like Ben Harper (although I haven't heard him with Relentless 7), but there's no way he's big enough to headline Lolla. What festivals are billing him as a headliner?

I'm interested in Tool, Jane's, Lou Reed, Tenacious D and Atmosphere. I dont think I can afford the weekend for that, but maybe a day if three of those are on one together.
I hope Tool makes up for cancelling Madison in 2006 sometime this year.
