The analogy I like is cookies or brownies…I prefer cookies, some people prefer brownies, but it’s not to say I dislike brownies or they dislike cookies…you know what I mean?
I know what you mean. I feel the same.
But lately it seems like a lot of people are like "Well the brownies have nuts so they are better. Anyone who still likes Cookies are stupid. Cookies are so commercial now"
You gotta admit though the cookies did sell out. Im pretty sure MTV owns them

I enjoy both cookies and brownies. I don't hate on either. Bothe are special in their own ways and in what they have to offer.
When the husband and I went to Asheville Music Jamboree last May Patrick proudly wore his Bonnaroo hat and I had the 07 bumpersticker on my CRV. I got both positive and negative comments about my sticker but Patrick had a guy yell at him and tell him Roo was shit and a sell-out festie and he should be ashamed for wearing the hat. Patrick calmly told the asshat, "well, uh, that's just, uh, like your opinion, man" and went about his day.
I don't understand the hate. I'm happy for people who are going to any concert/fest if that is what makes them happy. Hell, if 3DoorsDown and Nickleback make someone feel how Mule, MMJ and The Dead make me feel then good for them. That doesn't mean I have to like their music, but I still respect the fact that it is about the tunes and personal preference.
i just dont understand how people say BONNAROO has "sold out" Man that pisses me off. Its not like Palooza where the stage names are "SONY PLAYSTATION STAGE" or "BUDWISER STAGE" Its a bada*s, hardcore, hot, survival of the fittest festival. Come and LOVE if you want. If not that is great a ok with me. People just love to hate

Exactly. Plus all of the sponsorships Bonnaroo do have are done at all the booths and installations in Centeroo. Budweiser, one of the biggest beer suppilers in the world has a small ass batting cage. Budweiser pays Bonnaroo alot of money for that and if you weren't looking for it, you would never see it.

Dude Brownies sold out WAY before cookies...first they went on Oprah and told everybody that they weren't gonna be heady anymore, now I see them on SoberHouse with Dr. Drew, what gives, they just like the limelight...SHAME
I'm the opposite of moderate, immaculately polished With the spirit of a hustler and the swagger of a college kid Allergic to the counterfeit, impartial to the politics Articulate but still would grab a ni**a by the colla quick
IMO Bonnaroo kills roth this year. Its not even close. I like the SASQUATCH lineup more than Roths. Rothburys isnt horrible and they still have additions. Its just too similar to Wakarusas and Waka is half the price. When you compare roth and roo its just not even phucking close tho. If Bonnaroo adds 2 or so solid electronicas than every one else will officially bow down to the roo
Well said and in total agreement...plus the comics have yet to be announced as well!

Yes i do. I saw Guster at the Ryman and it was 20 million times better than the roo show. not a festi band IN MY BLOODY OPINION. I laughed because i dont think they fit in with the BURY lineup.
didn't guster nto show up in 04? i can't really remember but i have recollection of going to see one afternoon show on a semi rainy day and waiting almost an hour for someone to come out and no one ever did. it may not have been guster, maybe kings of leon? actually i remember it being maroon 5, but they are not on the lineup so my memory is just screwed. BUT i KNOW there was someone who didn't show up, anyone remember?

No way man. The minute chocalate chip cookies signed the Nabisco deal, it was over for me and cookies.

Was it Modest Mouse?
It was Maroon 5. They were scheduled but never showed up.

lol...bow to roo? no thanks. i'm not going to continue to argue what is PURE OPINION, but while waka is half the price, you don't get half the amenities(like sherwood forest). for me, roth and roo are phucking close...and roth wins hands down.
^I guess I just don't feel amenities make a festival. If I want to go to a resort I will do so, if I want to listen to great tunes I will go wherever they are being played. Also I have been to where Waka has moved and it is a hella nice area up in the mountains.

i think it's easy to disregard sherwood if you've never seen it in person. but for me, that kind of thing one-ups open fields. and there are secret stages in the forest, so you've still got tunes to hear. not to mention the temperatures make is absolutely amazing. it's already gotten up to 95 here in texas this year, and bonnaroo is definitely no escape from the heat.

Yea Im not sold on the amenities especially when I keep getting told "Well Roth has the Sherwood Forest"...I go to a music festival for the music. If I wanted to hang out around a bunch of trees Id go hiking.

i was just about to say... didn't Waka just move from bumfuck Kansas to the mountains of Arkansas?
i can't wait to hear the reports from Waka and see how it compares to other festie sites. :-)
And Id like to add...I had every intention of going to Roth this year....but the lineup is less than impressive to me for the price. Ill probably just have one hell of a time at All Good and save some money

i'm sure we'll all have fun at whatever fests we pick. everyone looks for different things in a fest, and for me, sherwood forest, the smaller amount of people, THE FRIGGIN' DEAD, and a 100x better vibe than bonnaroo will bring me to roth.
but, i'm also looking forward to partying just as hard with all of you at roo

And I think thats the most important part. I dont feel like I need to argue over which festival is better, which lineup is better, which vibe is better. Im going to Roo and All Good and wish those going to rothbury all the best.
That is my main beef with Rothbury too. Move it to another weekend and I would definitely be there. They've got to know that 4th of July weekend makes it tough for a lot of people.

well, i doubt they do that. and seeing the dead during a fireworks display...well, i can't think of anything better then again, my family never really had any kind of 4th tradition, so i'm not having to decide between plans.

I agree with this. It's not only people have traditions or what ever. That's just a hard week to get off work for alot of people, because everyone wants that week off.
That being said, seeing the Dead do US Blues on the 4th with Fireworks would be pretty fucking cool. Especially if they brought Dylan out.
