^Well not to start this up again but I think the 'roo lineup is better, and you spent two pages explaining to me why I was wrong, and that they should not even be compared. I was more trying to make a point than be unfair. Like candyflipped said I make my own vibe, and it usually pretty contagious I guess this is why I never notice a less heady vibe at 'roo.

haha, well to be fair, we've both spent the last 11 pages telling each other that we're wrong
i'm over it, though. no use debating something like this. i definitely agree that in the end we make our own vibes for fests, and i hope everyone has a blast wherever they end up

I've done some research and I have found out which lineup is better. What I am about to say has been proven beyond a reasonable doubt and is 100% fact. The bonnaroo lineup is the best if you like it more than bury's and the rothbury lineup is the best if you like it more than roo's...
Hope everyone on here can find a bundle of money and go to both. That's what I'm hoping for.

I've seen him 4 times in the past 10 years. He doesn't do a whole lot of Greatest Hits type stuff. Some Watchtower, Just Like a Woman, Maggie's Farm, and maybe a couple of others. So you'd have to be a fan of his entire catalog to know many songs. And even at that, he sounds like he's gargling marbles while signing so it's hard to get all of the words.
In my opinion going to see Dylan now is like going to a museum.

I agree......i've seen him twice in the last 5 years. I love the man and his music.......he's a living legend and I want to check out his new album.
That said - he wasn't very good live (the times I saw him at least). He just calmly stood/sat behind an organ/keyboard and would touch notes while trying to get lyrics out. Sometimes a whole line wouldn't even be audible. I don't think he touched a guitar on either show....but if he did it was only for a minute.
The person I saw him with and I both joked that it could just be a body double and we would never have known. His band was awesome....some talented guys in there, especially on lead guitar.
But Dylan himself - his voice is shot. He plays a few classics, but you wouldn't be able to tell because of the way he played them. When I saw him everything sounded similar.
I'd still see him if he was at a festival I was attending....no doubt. But I wouldn't pay over 50 dollars to see a solo show from him again (depending on the opening act.......I caught raconteurs open for him and they were amazing)

So someone on the Roth boards is claiming that Neil Young will in fact be headlining Rothbury. Also Phish is trying to break their one festival appearance contract with Bonnaroo in order to headline Rothbury. Hmmm..
I think the guys full of shit, but what does everyone else think.

No Chance of this....why would Superfly ever let Phish break their contract so that they could play another fest. I guess it makes for a fun rumor though.

not to mention the fact that i dont think Rothbury is aiming to be quite that big of a festival right now. Adding neil young AND phish would send a lot of people running to michigan. It seems silly to add the two biggest names on your lineup AFTER the initial announcement too. i could be bias because id prefer it not to be true since i cant get there this year but...

why would crowd size be an issue? they're still only going to sell 50k tickets regardless of the headliners.
having said that, i don't believe that phish will be at roth...never have. i could see neil making an appearance, but other than that, i doubt most of that is true.
hypothetically speaking, though, if phish and neil young happened to grace roth's lineup...who then would have bragging rights this summer? i don't give a crap because i'll be at both...just curious what others think.

Roo would still have bragging rights because the lineup fits the price. The rothbury lineup is a joke for the price, even if Phish was there.

i wish i could tell you. we're actually not even sure when the regular additions will be announced, let alone when they might announce NY/Phish/etc.
i got my ticket with the early birds, so i'm not sure when/how the layaway plan is working. i bet some people over on infobury could help you out, though
