Mafia, it was a big mistake not to silence me last night… because now I have something to say.
I am the Inspector. Furthermore, I know who the Mafia is. If you’ll indulge me, I’ll tell you what’s happened on my end.
I was informed at the beginning of the game that rooconteur was Mafia. You’ll notice that I voted for him (and again in the run-off). The interesting thing was that the votes were almost split in half for handgunhips and rooconteur. I needed to know if HGH was innocent, because if she was it stood to reason that the other two Mafia would have voted for her as well, and not one of their own kind (so early in the game, they can still hope to hide in the anonymity of the large group and still work together). Night 1, I asked about HGH and learned that she is indeed innocent (I repeat, handgunhips is NOT MAFIA). That narrowed down the potential Mafia to the five remaining people that voted for HGH. But who? (Also note that sadielady, a person who voted for rooconteur, was one that got whacked).
fishingmanaic has played this game very well, I think. He’s been so quick to point fingers and then make more arguments using his own initial accusations as obvious foregone conclusions that it is easy to fall into trusting him. Even for a time, I was doing it. But he’s been so very vocal, so accusatory, and his logic has been so strained at times that I grew rather suspicious of him. Honestly I was surprised that the majority voted in his favor in the second run-off, but at least I could find out the truth about him come nightfall.
And I did. It was confirmed to me that fishingmaniac IS MAFIA.
People, we have this game clinched. We have already bumped off one Mafiosi, and another one we can get rid of right now. We are six strong right now again them, and there is little they can do so save themselves at this point. I know that revealing myself and making these accusations (which they of course will see are true), will almost definitely get me killed tonight. That doesn’t matter, because we are so close! Please, let us put a quick timely vote to fishingmaniac and get rid of another Mafia member.
I officially vote for fishingmaniac.
One last thing, my fellow Innocents. I have a very strong suspicion of who the third Mafia member is. I hesitate to make an accusation without being completely sure—I’d hate to see an innocent player get killed because of my hastiness—but once the vote for this round is close to being closed, and fishingmaniac’s fate is all but sealed, I will impart to you my suspicions so that you can use them in the next round, without me. Thanks for listening.

The only statement in this post that's true is that HGH is innocent.
This is another case of fishingmaniac frantically trying to make himself look innocent. He's taking a truth I've already revealed and tried to make it his truth in the hopes of gaining credibility, as well as favor with HGH. But let's look at the facts. What he's insinuating is that, being the Inspector, he guessed HGH one night and was told she was not Mafia. But when did this occur? The only possibility is last night (Night 2), because during Day 2 he still suspected her, so much that he initially voted for her, before changing his vote to Mike in order to save himself.
The truth is that I, the real Inspector, guessed HGH in Night 1, and during Day 2 tried to hint as subtly but strongly as possible that HGH was innocent:
Furthermore, he's also claiming that he was informed that I am Mafia. Since he only could have learned about HGH in Night 2, that means he would have had to learn about my supposed role during either Night 1 or in the pre-game disclosure. But if he knew that I was Mafia that whole time, how come he hasn't revealed that knowledge until now, after I already did the same to him? If he knew I was Mafia during Day 2, why did he still vote for handgunhips?
His story if full of holes. He's a liar, and he's Mafia. Let's get rid of him.

I've been watching a lot of Sopranos lately. Just (re)finished Seasons 1 and 2 on dvd. Hands down the greatest show/character study in television history. There's nothing else remotely close. Doesn't mean I'm mafia though...Don't tarnish my reputation, please.

A respectable effort but still too hastily put together. So what you are saying is that Night 1 you asked about superbek, and Night 2 you asked about HGH? Then when did you find out my identity, in the pre-game debriefing? If you had that knowledge since the very beginning of the game, why didn't you use it right away?
And while we're on the subject, why are you convinced that Mike was Mafia? What did he do to tip you off? To me it seems you are just choosing to lay the blame on a dead man who can't fight back.
Rooconteur's post makes this a good time to remind everyone of Rule 8: 8) Players who have been eliminated are still welcome to post in this thread, but are asked to not say anything leading to any knowledge, suspicions or opinions you might have. Deceased players may not quote anything posted before their death story was published.
Rooconteur, you're on notice. Though you quoted a large post and added a sentence, which might make the point you're trying to make vague, it still violated the rule. Dead players do not participate in voting discussions after their death.
This is a lot to take in. I have a strong suspicion neither Fish or Steve are the Inspector. The only real evidence I see in Steve's argument is that HGH is innocent which all of us know is 99.9% accurate and all of us that voted for her in the 1st round have learned from our mistake. His claim that HGH was innocent in round 2 was really just a reiteration that he sided with the majority in the previous round. Bama and superbek also claimed HGH was innocent. They could be the Inspector as well. Fish on the other hand does appear to be grasping at straws.
I just have 2 concerns: 1. The chances that we voted off a mafia member in the 1st round is very slim. 1 in 13 to be exact. I'm not saying it couldn't happen, but we really have no clear evidence Rooconteur was mafia and we never will. He only had one vote and it was clustered in a group that doesn't give any clear meaning who the mafia was. However, we could have gotten lucky. 2. Last game, Kdogg fooled us townspeople twice with his sweet talkin' rhetoric when the chips were down and all the fingers pointed to him. I'm wondering if Steve is trying to pull a fast one over on us like Kdogg. I think this could be the ploy of a lone, desperate mafia member trying to save himself or the real Inspector risking his life for us.
Nonetheless my vote is still open for persuasion and I still fear we have a silent mafia member in our midst who is flying under the radar and laughing at all these arguments.

ok. i did just reread some pages.. and past votes.. (and im too lazy to go back and quote from a previous post...)
but.. i guess i have some reason to believe steve. back after the first vote.. when i was trying to figure out why sadie was voted off... and sorta thinking out the "eye for an eye" theory.. he mentioned sadie voted for roo and maybe that was how the mafia was getting their revenge.. by whacking her at night.

Rarely do the Inspectors make it very far in the game. The usually don't reveal themselves in the first couple of rounds in order to stay under the radar with the mafia-- if they do make it until they have some sufficient knowledge, they usually try to reveal it to the townspeople, not necessarily by announcing their role, but in some way, shape or form. Every Inspector is different, and if you go back and read the last game's thread, you can see how Superbek handled being Inspector.
Right now, I think the townspeople have to decide whether Fishing or Steve is really the inspector.

"IF" STEVE IS THE INSPECTOR. I'm just wary of people and how they talk because Kdogg fooled us so nicely last game. The way he flat out said he was the inspector makes me kinda suspicious because he knew we were all out to get him in this round. His votes line up with Mike who was suspected of being Mafia, then he tries to claim that Mike was innocent.

hmmm... blue cadet, you reluctance to accept steve and being the last to vote makes me grow weary of you.
steve gave step by step details of how he knew about the mafia. I know it may be kinda scary because of what kdogg did last game but I don't think we have to worry. NOBODY plays mafia like kdogg so don't even try to make the comparison. The townspeople won last game, I think steve is capable of recognizing a failed marionette style strategy and would most likely be a little smarter than to attempt it two games in a row.
If we let steve off the hook tonight we will find out soon enough if he is the inspector or not. If his is, then the mafia will have to kill him or risk being exposed. That is unless our nurse can save him if he/she is still alive. btw kdogg, if the nurse does saves someone, will we openly know about it? The herd could be wrong in trusting steve. It would not be the first time that it has happened but I think right now the safest choice (seeing as we are still relatively early on) is to trust steve. he might just save your life.

I suppose it's not much of a surprise at this point-- he began the round by voting for me, then when I made my announcement removed his vote in order to distance himself from the accused party. However he made sure to keep his vote open in case he could safely re-vote for me later, depending on how the rest of you voted. And while the rest of you could see the strength of my argument, he has been the only one to still be "in doubt". We're still waiting on his vote to close this Day, and, bluecadet, you might as well vote for me-- your fate is sealed, along with your cohorts.
Like I said before, since handgunhips was innocent, it's safe to assume that everyone that voted in her favor in the Day 1 run-off was innocent (the Mafia would have voted to her, to save one of their own). That means that of the remaining players, I believe that tarae22, superbek, and of course handgunhips are completely trustworthy. Of the remaining players that voted for her that round, we have jpbrez, msfelithatsme and bluecadet.
I'll lay out a couple more reasons (in addition to the above) why I believe bluecadet is the third Mafia member, and I'll try to not be as long-winded this time.
1) bluecadet is the ONLY player left to have voted with the known Mafia members at every turn-- he voted for HGH both times in Day 1, and for Mike both times in Day 2.
2) If you go back a re-read through the course of the game thus far, you'll notice how often bluecadet's posts are ones in direct agreement with someone one of the other Mafiosi said, particularly fishingmaniac (and vise versa). In Day 1, it was FM's logic that HGH was being too defensive that bluecadet claimed as his reason for voting for her. In Day 2 during the run-off, he piggybacked on FM's accusations of me to claim that Mike and I were both in cahoots. Meanwhile he's worked hard to come up with disagreements with innocent people's logic and ideas, be they mine, HGH's, bama's, superbek's, etc.
Fellow Innocents, I wish I could give you more conclusive proof than that. But my suspicions of him are VERY strong. If I don't make it to the next round, please use this information. If for some reason I do, I will be able to conclusively declare bluecadet's identity.
And one last thing... if the Nurse is still alive, please protect me!

I am curious what the Mafia will do now. Will they kill me, and prove that everything I said was true, or will they not, and allow me to learn and reveal the truth about their final member?
