Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Right below I have a list of every announced Bonnaroo act and those who have expressed interest in writing the Band A Day summary for the band. To remind you what Band A Day is (taken from my previous post)....
"Band-A-Day, or Band A Day, is an online community's directory of all respective festival's artists. In Lolla's case it was the official's community directory of Lollapalooza acts, in ours it'll be Inforoo's directory of Bonnaroo acts (whipee!). How it works: everybody who's interested signs up for one or more Bonnaroo '09 acts that they will write an artist summary for (I'll have a nice template ready that'll make things slice and dice). Then a schedule will be released and, following that nice little schedule, one or two Inforoo band summaries will be released daily."
I love quoting myself. Anyways, I need you guys to sign up for the bands that you want. Just tell me which band(s) you want to write about and I'll put you on the listing. Four notes
1. For bands that have interest from plural Inforoo members, I'll do a lottery to pick who gets what. If you guys want to bicker with each other and figure out who's doing what band in cases of multiple interest in one band, then feel free and let me know who's doing what band.
2. Keep sign-ups to a maximum whatever, however you'll get up to three (unless you're really good and we really need more people). Keep in mind that three bands is a fair amount and you will be responsible for creating a Band A Day summary for each of those bands (and that won't give you a good excuse to do a bad job)
3. People who just sign up for one band get priority unless it's one of bands with a lot of interest
4. Any threads opened in the Band A Day forum will be deleted at this point. Band A Day will be just for official Band A Day entries.
Okie Dokie, here's the bands and who's signed up for them.

Additional bands and comedians to be added as announced

Would you be so kind sir, as to remove my name from TMV. I apologize for the confusion. I was just saying knowing this board and Volta, a cage fight will be necessary to settle it. A feeble attempt at humor. I'm pretty sure my review of Volta live would result in a permanent banishment from this board.
I'm going to hop on any decent electronic add we get though.

If you need someone for band of horses or Animal collective I can do that as well.
oh, and TMV and band of horses are the only ones i have seen live. but i have listened to the others' music a lot with the high intent of seeing them at roo
I can do Neko Case and Bela Fleck African Project after 4/3. I'm seeing both live in the next couple of weeks and would like to wait until after the shows to write about them...even tho I've seen Case live before.
Well, I am not sure how Funkshiat is working it, but I believe it is one person doing a bio. If a couple people put in for it, I think the first person who put in for gets priority, unless they put in more than 3 requests.
One person per band (but each band will have its own discussion thread so you can instill all the knowledge you want there). Right now sign up for whatever bands you're interested in. Then I'll establish who's got what band based on which band(s) you're the only one for, a lottery system, first come first serve and single bands chosen priorities. I'll do my very best to make things as fair as possible.
I can only do MGMT but i feel i can do a pretty good bio due to seeing them a few times, including Bonnaroo. I'm a former newspaper editor and music reviewer from the old high school days But i make no protests if the lovely handgunhips has nothing she wants to do besides MGMT. Good idea to all
-When I Hear My Name -Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground -Blue Orchid -Passive Manipulation -Red Rain -Death Letter -My Doorbell -Hotel Yorba -Same Boy You've Always Known -Lovesick -Little Ghost -We're Going to Be Friends -The Hardest Button to Button -Black Math -The Nurse -I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself
Encore: -Ball and Biscuit -Seven Nation Army -Screwdriver

You seem much better prepared to write it then I am. I'll look for another band.
What are we doing about lineup additions and cafe acts? Do we have enough time to do just one a day? We might have to double up at some point.
we're def. going to have to double up regardless (I think we'll do the headliners and big bands as single day things and then start doubling up on the lesser known bands). Also, once the lineup additions are announced (including comedians), they're going to be up for grabs. We'll just start without them.
I don't really know about cafe acts though. They're all small local bands, so it seems they'll be hard to write about. If they generate interest then awesome, but if not, we'll have to leave them out

I was gonna ask this as well we only have 84 days left before roo and it should probably all be finished the week before. so that leaves 77 days and need a few days for the people with the first bios to compile them so say 70 days < number of bands. Could probably start with one and at some point double up. Or do the big acts first and double some of the smaller acts
