Breaking Bad is the best show on Television, without a doubt. If you aren't watching it already, start from the beginning - you will enjoy it.
Initially, I was put off by the premise, which seemed a bit contrived. However, this show is one of the most hard hitting dramas (with some dark comedy) that I've ever seen. Every scene is tactful and has a purpose. These is no fluff. The characters are compelling and the acting is extraordinary.

Again, as soon as things start looking up for Walt (offered 3 million to cook), things go down the shitter with Tuco's relatives being in the Mexican Mafia. It didn't really seem like Tuco was so high up in the cartel when he was killed. Just seemed like a local thug.

yea! this show is picking up and getting real good. I liked the tortuga and the strip club flashbacks. and I still can't get over walt's pizza chuckin skills.
Is everyone else obsessed with trying to name all the elements highlighted in the credits? I've had 8 years plus of college chemistry (which may explain my obsession) and still couldn't get them all. Lots are the "newer" elements.
I finally broke out the periodic table during the credits last week and tracked them down.

It had never even occurred to me to try to name the highlighted elements. In fact, I think your strange. Just kidding about the strangeness. I just never could get myself interested in science. I took 1 semester of chemistry in high school, and that was enough for me.
Also, great show. We missed the end of the second season so we rented the DVDs and finally got caught up with the help of the DVR. We went through the DVDs like crazy.

Walt is finally growing some balls. I'm so happy to see him cook in a proper lab.
That assistant is obviously going to take over after he learns Walt's secrets though. I would not trust that guy any further than I could throw him. He is too perfect on a show full full of screwed up characters.

Jess, you're probably right but Walt is too naive to know that. That dude is really weird. I'm sure it won't last long. Something will go awry and that lab will cease to exist. It's just the nature of the show.
I'm glad that Hank got green lit by the Pollos guy. I wonder if he'll get taken out or if he'll just have a close call. Hell, maybe he'll take out the cartel hitmen. I also loved how Walt and Pinkman out smarted Hank with the help of the weird dude at the salvage yard. That scene was intense.

I've only seen a handful of episodes and loved them, but for some reason I always forget about this show. However, I did see this scene the other day and it was awesome! The weirdo played Kramer on the Seinfeld show-within-a-show as well as tons of other stuff.
Edit: Bryan Cranston was also on Seinfeld. Everyone can always be traced back to Seinfeld.

It was, but it could cause serious problems for Walt when Hank starts trying to figure out how Jesse knew his cell phone number and Marie's name.
Only if Hank traces the number back to Saul. Saul can simply claim attorney client privelege. I bet Saul is smart enough to have a throw away phone. But it could get sticky. Hank isn't the sharpest tool in the shed or else he would have fingered Walt in season one when the respirators went missing, new meth on the street obviously made by a chemist, and then early this season when Walt flat out told him the he was holding $500k in the bag when he was helping him move.
As far as tracing everyone back to Seinfeld, you can include James Murphy from LCD soundsystem. Apparently he was offered a job writing for them years ago. It was in an article that is posted in the LCD thread.

This is pretty similar to what my boyfriend says, that Hank is too full of himself to think that Walt could pull one over on him. But it just seems like he's got to start putting it together. I mean, Hank called Walt to ask about the RV. A few minutes later, Jesse comes storming out of the house and goes straight to the RV. Then, to get him away, someone who knew Hank's cell phone number and wife's name called and said she was in the hospital. How oblivious can he be? Especially when added to the other stuff which should have tipped him off in the first place. I think he'll start putting it together, but he won't want to turn Walt in until he's sure, and then he'll get killed by the hitment before he has a chance to pass on what he's learned.

Walt kills one person a season, I have feeling this dude is going to be the one he does in. Since Walt likes him so much it will be hard, then again he liked the guy in the basement as well.
those twins are creepy as f uck. but they totally love each other and when they were sitting on the same side of the booth, i couldn't help but laugh.
I just meant he has so far, and it plays in to the whole idea of him becoming more and more criminal. The first time he had too, the second time it was for Jesse's benefit but also for money since she was blackmailing him. This time I have a feeling he is going to do it, and then find out dude was plotting against him.
Pollos guy is probably going to get in some deep Leno. Great episode. I think this show may be better than Mad Men!
He must've been the one to tip off Hank about the impending hit. No one else knew Hank was now the target of the twins. Maybe he'll make Hank an offer he can't refuse (if he survives). Wouldn't hurt to have a former DEA agent in his employ.

I was so excited. I thought, "He'll never get that bullet in there". Then the fucker killed two of the best characters and he didn't die. He'll come back with a vengeance. I think Pollos guy (is his name Gus?) is smart enough that he won't get caught. That way Walt gets to cook unharmed and everybody gets rich.....yeah right. That'll last one episode max, then it'll all go to hell again. This show keeps surprising me.

Pollos guy is too powerful to worry about the Mexican cartel. May start an interesting turf war though.
I like Hank. His character is one of the more complex and he is one of the few with a solid moral compass. I'm glad he lived. I thought they'd kill him for sure as it's the easy thing to do. I hate losing the silent Mexican brothers but they were somewhat limited as characters.

I think Gus is staging a coup. I think he wants to cut the cartels out and he is obviously much more powerful than I originally thought. Jesse was just a douche in this episode though. I want to take a needle to his big puffy face.
I thought the scene with Walt talking about his surgery was weird. Was it supposed to be touching and sweet or awkward like usual. I couldn't tell from all of the varied expressions on people's faces. Why would he lie like that to Gus. Why not just say, my brother in law is in the hospital. I realize he didn't want Gus to know about the Hank but come on. You don't lie to someone like that.
