When I heard a "significant" character was going to die, I was thinking Mike or Saul. I should've known it wouldn't be someone all that significant to the story.
I kind of hope they do a couple more flashbacks with Gale, I really liked his character.
oh i thought he (glennron) was saying he heard someone significant would die in the first episode. i thought that would refer to gale over the thug guy in the lab.

I forgot about the stupid conspiracy theories of whether or not Jesse killed Gale, even though Jesse's gun goes off. "The camera angle changes! Maybe Jesse shot next to him!"
I would've been pissed if the creator meant Gale and that was the only death of the "episode."
Interesting episode. Not much plot progression, but a lot of really awesome moments and it seems like it's really building towards a game changing moment... I just can't wait to see what.

Does anyone else think it seems a little out of character, and really stupid, for Walt to go to Mike about killing Gus. I mean, Gus seems like a reasonable guy, but he is also very loyal and I don't recall him giving any sign that he might be swayed.
I think walts just extremely desperate, organizing two sloppy attempts to kill Gus (really, walt? You were just gonna shoot him in the lab? HIS lab with all HIS loyal employees?) and trying to get Mike on his side.
Let me also just say I really want to see more of Mike in this show. He's a great actor and his character just has the coolest disposition of always knowing what the fuck is going on, which made Victors death even more brutal and shocking, because even Mike was shocked by it.

Looks like Mike has something big planned for next episode, if anyone saw the sneak preview of the next episode. Very excited. This season has suffered from some pacing issues so far although I think it may be more trying to keep suspense going. That whole Marie stealing thing should have been way less of the last episode, though.
A mediocre Breaking Bad episode is still better than most TV, though.
One of my roommates has never watched an episode (me and the other roommate are full-on BB addicts). He was hanging out and when the show started up he said "alright, let's see what all the fuss is about".
I would be lying if I said he wasn't the most intense of the 3 of us watching that episode. Thanks to DVR, we would just pause the show during commercials to explain some "fill in the gaps" stuff to him.
The entire Jesse/Mike plot line in the episode was so anxiety-filled and typical in that it was not at all what it appeared to be. God I love this show.

Gus definitely wants Jesse to pass up Walt on the totem pole for one reason or another. He's probably giving him the new job to give him a sense of purpose and not sulk all day or party with all of those strung out bums. Gus has also been perfect at shutting out Walt from just about anything at all, though I wish Gus would have more screen time. I'm sure that'll happen as the season progresses though.
It's funny how much Walt's pride fucks him over, though I guess seeing that Benecke mug used by Jr. didn't help.
It's good to see Hank getting back to "normal", I like his character when he's not being a huge dickhole to Marie. Not that she doesn't deserve it a lot of times.
I always thought they were going somewhere with the whole Hank being a douche to marie thing but now that it's apparent that they aren't I kind of wish they didn't spend like half of the last episode wasting time showing marie stealing from open houses.
This is the first season of Breaking Bad that I'm watching on TV and it's fucking killing me. Because in retrospect I'm sure I'll like all the character development but right now I just want to know WHAT FUCKING HAPPENS.

So who's the "mole" working for the Gus's operation, Gomez or Merkert? Gomez looked worried/upset to see Hank back at work. Both him and Merkert had a sort of troubled look when Hank was going through his spiel at the end of the episode, like they didn't want him to find anything out. However, Merkert tried promoting Hank to El Paso a while ago and was annoyed when Hank wouldn't actually ago. Plus, Hank points to a picture of him shaking Gus's hand on the wall in his office. Maybe it was one of them who tipped of Hank in the parking lot in season 3 instead of Mike or Gus?
Really enjoyed the episode as a whole. Gus is totally not as powerful as we're made out to believe. Plus, it seems way out of character for him to leave fingerprints at Gale's. I loved Jesse's scene at the NA meeting too. Excite for what's to come.
Edit: More evidence that it could be Merkert. They talk about Gomez's promotion and Hank mentions he's close to being in DC. I don't see the point of bringing that up if it wouldn't serve a purpose. Maybe like Hank to El Paso, Merkert is trying to promote his best men away from him so he's not found out.
Even more awesome when you look at the episode where Hank gets ahold of Gale's binder for the first time and you see a "Ron Pall 2008" sticker. This shows attention to detail is unreal.
Wow. What a fantastic episode. I always kind of felt bad for Tio because we only ever saw him as the sad old man, but he was obviously a pretty big sleaze in his day.
