I had every intention of making a batch of blue meth candy & mailing it to you guys, but this week has just been too hectic to even attempt it. Really disappointed in myself, since I had been planning it for the past month. Hope to make some tomorrow night or Sunday before the finale. It's the thought that counts, right?
I guess we can let you slide for this once for not doing something ridiculously nice for others that is way above and beyond. The other 1,000 things you have done will just have to be enough.

You are so sweet, Steph!
Do you happen to have a recipe? I'd love to make some on Sunday, but have never attempted to make candy and I'm a little scared.

I'm planning on using this recipe. Bought everything but the candy thermometer and of course I can't find mine now.
2 cups water 1 cup white corn syrup 3 1/2 cups sugar 1/4 tsp cream of tartar 1/4 tsp vanilla extract 3 drops of blue gel food coloring
I boiled the mixture and then continued stirring it on the heat until it reached 300 degrees F (used a candy thermometer to measure the temp). At that point, I poured it into a tray to cool. It hardened up in about an hour and then I smashed it to pieces.
I really, really wish we all lived close together so that we could have a finale party. For Brad & I, I think we're going with scrambled eggs & bacon, chicken, & whatever desserts I can make with the blue meth candy. Maybe some Walteritas too. Big thanks to EAP for the heads up on this buzzfeed post.

My wife has made blue meth candy a couple of times now. Here's what she used:
3/4 cup lite corn syrup 2 cups granulated sugar 1/2 cup water
Stir all that together, keep stirring until it's boiling, then bring it up to 290-295. Remove it from heat and add a packet of Duncan Hines Cotton Candy Frosting Creations. Put it in a foil-lined pan that is lightly greased with non-stick cooking spray. Let it cool and harden.

I'm so glad that the cast has been able to use this show to find bigger and better opportunities in the future but I'm so not ready to be done. I love that they limited themselves to 5 seasons (Gilligan originally talked a lot about only doing 4 seasons) but it's been such a big deal and I'm not ready to give it up. Such an awesome show.
Going to portugal the man on Sunday will miss the finale. Hoping its on Monday
I would imagine it will be on Monday, but if nothing else, the full episodes are on amc.com the day after they air.
Thanks bro AND EVERYONE who liked Custeph's post... when Portugal. the Man calls, I answer. Walt dies, Nazis take over (my opinion)...Meth business is a cold, dark place.

I love the music but only really noticed it the last year or two. Once they played Crystal Blue Persuasion I started to really pay more attention and I have loved all the song choices this year. I looked up a soundtrack on iTunes but want to wait until after this season so all the songs are included.
Edit: I also loved it when they did the Mexican song about Heisenberg with that mariachi band or whtaever.

So is it a safe assumption to think that Lydia and Todd's death (one, the other or both) will be tied together? I can't decide if it is a more Todd flipping out Of Mice and Men style and killing Lydia when she doesn't return his affections or where Todd sacrifices himself to save Lydia.

I feel like it's too obvious for Walt to mow down the nazis with the gun and give the ricin to Lydia. I thought that was the clear conclusion but now I think something totally different will happen. I have no idea what though.

Agreed. I worked on that list that @ntellier85 posted earlier, but I realized after a bit that there was no way I would ever feel even remotely comfortable with my choices.
Aaron Paul portrayed a meth addict in every sketch he was a part of on SNL. I think it had more to do with a bad writing staff than typecasting.
I think it was done on purpose. Riding the typecasting horse into the fire...... I mean SNL isn't really a place where guest stars prove to directors/producers they can portray another type of character.

What!?!?! That "Mariachi" band happens to be Los Cuates De Sinaloa and the music is called Narcocorrido. That is a FAR cry from Mariachi! That would be like comparing The Carpenters to Black Sabbath.
