Also, got a memorable record store story you've lived?
I'd say I'm a little of all 3. More Barry than anyone but I do have my record geek moments and up until a few years ago my love life was all kinds of crazy. Now adays I'm just exciteable.
Not really any stories but I did have some major scores working in one for a long time. The first four Flaming Lips records on colored vinyl, a Russian pressing of Tom Waits 'Closing Time', originals of a band called NEU! ... The list could go on and on.
Pick three people you look up to, and tell us why you do.
1. Arthur Rimbaud ~ Poet. He wrote my two favorite books. Illuminations and Une Saison en Enfer (A Season in Hell). Two of the best poems I have ever read. quack Kerouac. Meet the original Beat. 2. Tom Waits ~ I adore this man. I've been blessed to see him 3 times. Each time I fall more in love.Waits offered me escape when I was in high school. I honestly think I was the only person who knew who he was much less own a copy of Raindogs. 3. My grandparents ~ Counts as two I know. But you cant have a Nanny without a Pop and vice versa. Why? They taught me what unconditional love is.

While you're at it, how about three people you would murder if you could get away with it too?
I'll do you one better K-dogg. How about four.
Glenn Frey Don Henley Bernie Leadon Randy Meisner
I don't care that Leadon was in Flying Burrito Brothers and Dillard and Clark. I don't care that Meisner was in The Stone Canyon Band. They were in The Eagles and thats good enough for me.
I f*cking hate The Eagles. Don't think thats a joke.
-When I Hear My Name -Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground -Blue Orchid -Passive Manipulation -Red Rain -Death Letter -My Doorbell -Hotel Yorba -Same Boy You've Always Known -Lovesick -Little Ghost -We're Going to Be Friends -The Hardest Button to Button -Black Math -The Nurse -I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself
Encore: -Ball and Biscuit -Seven Nation Army -Screwdriver
Seriously one of my favorites now a days. When I heard Boys And Girls In America, I thought that was written about my life. Every song is just brilliant. Garageland hearts THS.
As its been said many many times on the board. Screens at the Which Stage and bring back the Sonic Forest. But with what they come up with every year I'm usually a fan. But they really need to invest in some monitors.
For the life of me, I'm not sure. I was never a big Smiths fan to be honest. I liked a few albums but never went ga ga like everyone else did. I'm gonna say Ryan. Simply because I think that lanky SOB could take me in a fight. I'm pretty sure he'd fight dirty.
Tommy always surprised me. The majority of the early songs were written when he was like 16. He didnt even know how to play bass. By the time the band was done he was not only a great bass player but an amazing guitar player and songwriter. Long live Tommy Stinson.
I see from your avatar you've got a sleeve tattoo - what's it of, and is there a story behind it?
There is. Its a traditonal sleeve made up of 11 different tattoos, bound together by clouds and stars and these little dots. The majority of the pieces are a symbol for each member of my family. But there are a few that are just there. Mostly foral filler. I promised Cheeky I'd get some pics of it. I need to get on that.
I'll post some tonight with an explanation.

Who wins the fight between a Star Destroyer and the USS Enterprise?
Destroyer for certain. I remember the first time I saw one flying towards me in a theatre. The most intense thaing that my 5 year old body had seen. It took awhile for me to understand how The Enterprise was a stellar piece of work ... but that Star Desroyer is just menacing.
As bad as you want me to say Phish, I cant. I'm a fan. Any band that can go from a Velvet Underground cover to Harry Hood without blinking an eye get my vote. Nickleback though ... I havn't seen such ham fisted rock and roll since the days of Third Eye Blind. Absolutly the pits in my book.
OK. So here you go. It's unfinished till next month, but seeing as how this is whats been on my body for almost 10 years it feels kinda complete to me. The center piece (the eagle w/ a broken heart) is a third generation cover up. Thats right kids. 3 times for me to like it. The sad thing is I couldn't tell you what the first one was. The second was a tribal piece that I had covered up. I like the Eagle. Nice.
You gotta look at the flying piggy. Thats pretty sweet. The giant keyhole and key with the banner is for my niece and nephew, whom I adore. I also have stuff in there for my grandparents, mother, two brothers, and myself.
