Who's gonna coach the bills? And who's gonna be on the bill at coach?
1. Wishful thinking Bill Cowher, probably Brian Schottenheimer. I'd be happy with either. I just hope whoever we get sticks around for awhile. A franchise quarterback would be nice too.
2. Three Headliners: Rolling Stones, Muse, Beastie Boys
Sahara: David Guetta, Orbital, Tiesto
Subheadliners: Gorillaz, Massive Attack, Faith No More
Out of left-field act that will have their message board salivating: Scott Walker
How is it that you're in Buffalo and attend Chicago festies at least as often, if not more so, than me up in Wisconsin?
Chicago is my favorite American city. I went there on a family vacation and just really loved it, especially Wrigleyville(I'm a big Cubs fan and even wrote a pretty popular Cubs blog when I was 15. I got lazy though and lost my spot on the blog, oh well.) I applied to school there, and would have went to Loyola Chicago had they offered me more money. Plus they just happen to have some pretty alright festivals, Pitchforks lineup and price last year was awesome, and Lolla is one of the biggest NA festivals there is. To be honest though, I'm going to Lolla to cross it off my list, I can't see myself going every year unless I move to Chicago.

How is Pitchfork? I haven't gone yet, but always been curious.
Your decision to go to Lolla is regardless of lineup, correct? Any hopes and/or predictions?
Oh, nodepression, I've had my eye on you for months. I love the handle, so much so that I had to PM you to ask about it.
1. What's your favorite Uncle Tupelo song?
2. Any brothers or sisters?
3. Have you ever visited Indiana?
4. What do you want to be when you grow up?
5. What's your guilty pleasure?
Hey insidejoke.
1. Favorite Uncle Tupelo song would be Whiskey Bottle. That chorus hits like a freight train every time, and it makes me want to go out and buy a bottle of jack. It does its job.
2. One brother, 25. I took him to Bonnaroo last year and he kept saying "next year we should..." If only I could convert more of my friends.
3. I've never technically visited Indiana. I've driven through it a few times so I might have stepped foot on Indiana soil at a rest stop or something. Pretty much my impression of the state is formed by Hoosiers.
4. It's funny, I thought I grew up at 19 then realized I didn't know anything around the middle of that year. So now that I'm back to being decidedly ungrown up, hopefully something to do with music. Whether it's writing about it our working for a cool independent label (Anyone here know Mac and Laura at Merge?)
5. Guilty pleasure would be watching the Real World on MTV. I've watched every season since Paris for some reason. Also, chocolate chip cookies.

1. Pitchfork was cool, but if the lineup isn't stellar I wouldn't go back. The price is great, but it's not really a destination festival, it's just a bunch of cool bands in a park. The curfew sucked too, 10 on the dot.
2. Well kind of. I was able to snag the souvenir tickets for sixty bucks, so I got a great deal. But if the lineup isn't up to par with previous years I'm not going.
Bands that would seal the deal: Arcade Fire, Panda Bear, Jay-Z, The Strokes

The only Chicago-style hot dog I had was at a Cubs game, but even then I don't think I put enough toppings on it. Someone from the area would have to help me out with where to go next time I head to the city.
Since you first started that thread asking for recs on classic blues, soul and funk, what are some artists or albums with which you've fallen in love?
I haven't gone through those as much as I should have. I put Sly, Al Greene, Buddy Holly, and Otis Redding on my ipod but have only listened walking around campus. Buddy Holly has been an early favorite though, even if they're all great.
What does your handle mean? (I feel I'm damning myself by asking this, expecting it to be a song by some band I don't listen to...)
Objection! Already asked and answered!
And yes, if those are the circumstances you imagine... it is indeed over your head.
Hot damn, how'd I miss that? Now everyone knows I don't listen to Uncle Tupelo.
I'll ask another, although I'm concerned it's also already been asked: what is your major, and what are your plans for after college (short term or long term)?
-When I Hear My Name -Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground -Blue Orchid -Passive Manipulation -Red Rain -Death Letter -My Doorbell -Hotel Yorba -Same Boy You've Always Known -Lovesick -Little Ghost -We're Going to Be Friends -The Hardest Button to Button -Black Math -The Nurse -I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself
Encore: -Ball and Biscuit -Seven Nation Army -Screwdriver
Phil looks like he would have had the size advantage, but Ryan looks like he is one of those small guys who knows how to throw a punch. I'm going to go with Ryan here.

English major because I would like to do something with writing when I get out of school, most likely music journalism. I figure the best way to go about this is to listen to a nuts ton of music and learn as much as I can. Also I suck at math.

Damn i only have one brother who is 25 as well, who was at Roo this year.
What is your favorite season of real world? Watch the challenges?
Favorite season be Austin. Austin got the coolest job of all the seasons, something to do with SXSW, Melinda and Johanna, and Wes and Danny, pretty much the biggest tools the seasons have ever had. It was pretty entertaining to watch.
I do watch the challenges. It's so ridiculous because the people are able to return, and you can tell they don't have anything else going on besides making party appearances at your local club that caters to douches. So they do whatever it takes to come back, the girls all get boob jobs and the guys all look like they are on steroids. It's like watching a douchier survivor.
Have you always lived in Buffalo? What's your favorite thing about living there? Least favorite?
Yep always lived in Buffalo. Probably my favorite thing about Buffalo happens after a big winter storm. We've had times when it's snowed seven feet over a few days, or three feet over a night. If we still have power, the news will be filled with stories about people getting stuck on the street somewhere, and a stranger taking them in and giving them a warm place to stay until the streets are cleared. It's about the only time the news has positive stuff to report on.
Least Favorite kind of goes along with my favorite. The weather sucks here.

Good call. That was the last Whiskeytown show I saw.

Ooohh reality tv. Is Jersey Shore 5 or 10 times better than the Real World?
Jersey Shore is the crack of American television. Sometimes I just can't watch. Also if you've ever met someone from the shore it's pretty accurate, this thing isn't even exaggerated. To answer your question, I'm going to go with 10 but it depends on your definition of "better"

EPMD or Slick Rick? I have no clue right now.
Haha seriously? I wish I was around for Ryan's crazier days. The only thing I got at Syracuse last year other than a great show was barely audible rants.
Is this a show you're talking about on the same day?

Well I was talking about laughs per episode because that's pretty much the only reason I watch Real World or similar reality shows. To be fair though I haven't sat through a couple episodes in a row yet, so I have yet to become depressed about America.
Crap on a crap cracker. OK, this one's GOT to be unasked...
Would you rather have, instead of feet, hotdogs or hamburgers, and what kinds of fixins?
btw, pretty sure I got smitten for saying I don't listen to Uncle Tupelo. über-lame.
That's why I don't have karma enabled. This site should be no stress, not worrying about what other people think of what you're saying. I really don't think it discourages the people who are going to be dicks anyway from saying something mean, and then sometimes you have someone who smites you for disagreeing with you instead of writing out a counterpoint.
And that question was asked on page 29...just kidding. I'm going to go with hamburgers. They have a broader base, and I wouldn't tip over as easy. I'd put some tomatoes, cheese and lettuce on it, nothing fancy.

Oh if it's laughs per episode, it's gotta be at least 10. Real World has some actual people (albeit a set of stereotypes put together in a house or are all attractive,) while the people on Jersey Shore are like cartoons with fake tans and hair extensions.

No no. That was the show. 7 or 8 songs in Ryan punched Phil and a scuffle insued that ended with Ryan riding Phils guitar across stage like a surfboard. STRINGS DOWN
That ended that night and I didn't see him again till the Heartbreaker release party. I never got to see Whiskeytown V.2 (or 3 for that matter).
