Onto more questions: Coffee or Tea? Carpet or Hardwood (hehe) Scented candles or Incense?
Did you participate in any Easter activities yesterday? What is the next concert on your agenda? Do you have any original artwork in your home? Will you ever do a video response like Bek did? Do you own UGGS?

Who is your favorite Golden Girl?
Rose because Betty White is awesome.
Coffee or Tea?
Hot: coffee; cold: tea.
Carpet or Hardwood (hehe)
Definitely hardwood.
Scented candles or Incense?
Scented candles. My favorites are the Candle-Lite Vanilla and Cinnamon Pecan Swirl.
Did you participate in any Easter activities yesterday?
Not unless you count going to El Pollo Loco for lunch and having crock-pot chili for dinner.
What is the next concert on your agenda?
Not sure. There are a lot less shows here than there are in Atlanta. I think the next one we've talked about is Horton Heat in Reno, but that's not until Aug.
Do you have any original artwork in your home?
We have a bunch of photos that I took, a painting I made, and a picture I drew, but no one else's original artwork.
Will you ever do a video response like Bek did?
Doubtful. I really hate the sound of my voice on a recording.

Betty White is amazing.
Moving on:
Can you share some of your art with us? When was the last time you bought a CD? If you can remember, what was it? What is the title of the last book you read? How old were you when you started wearing glasses? Is a potato really a vegetable?
Foil or Cling Wrap? Paper or Plastic? Bacon or MORE Bacon?

Can you share some of your art with us?
This is my favorite photo. I took it crossing the mountains from CA into NV.
These are photos from the Atlanta Aquarium.
This is my painting.
This is my colored-pencil drawing.
We also have a few prints that we bought at the Dogwood Arts Festival in Atlanta. I think you just meant the stuff that I had done, but I'm going to throw these in here, too, because I like them.
When was the last time you bought a CD? If you can remember, what was it?
I think the last actual CD I bought was early 2008. The Mars Volta - The Bedlam in Goliath.
It's possible I'm wrong about that, but that's the last one I remember buying.
What is the title of the last book you read?
How old were you when you started wearing glasses?
I don't remember exactly, but I was in my early 20s. Oddly enough, I was working for an optometrist at the time.
Is a potato really a vegetable?
Apparently the National Health Service doesn't think so. In that case, I'll amend last night's answer to say that my favorite vegetable is peas. (Or should I say my favorite vegetables are peas?)
Foil or Cling Wrap?
Cling Wrap never works right for me.
Paper or Plastic?
We try to always remember our fabric bags these days, but if we forget, we've been going for paper more often. Occasionally, though, we will get plastic because it's useful to have a few plastic bags around the house.

Your painting is sweet! I would love to hang that in my house.
I have been oblivious to this board member of the month thing up until now. Do you just answer a bunch of questions? Eh... I'll go to page 1 and do some research.

Thank you!
I guess you will see if you are going back to page 1, but, yeah, each month a new person is chosen and that person just answers any questions that are asked of him or her during the course of that month.
What was the first album you bought? First concert you attended? Last? How do you listen to your music? CDs, iPod, whatever...?
Are you sure you can't tell us why you like Leonardo best? Do you realize that every other BMOTM posed that question chose Donatello? Any reason why you think that would be the case?
Post by NothingButFlowers on Apr 6, 2010 15:15:59 GMT -5
What was the first album you bought?
I have a terrible memory, and I don't actually remember, but I'd say there's a distinct probability that it was:
What can I say? I had pretty awesome taste in music when I was 9.
First concert you attended? Last?
My first concert was Chicago and the Beach Boys when I was in the 4th grade. I stayed home sick from school that day, won the tickets on the radio, and then convinced my mom that I wasn't so sick that that I couldn't go to the concert. I fell asleep sometime during Chicago.
My last concert was Les Claypool at the Montbleu Casino, a surprisingly good venue. The accoustics were fantastic. I think it was the 7th time I've seen Les, counting Oysterhead at Bonnaroo in 2006.
How do you listen to your music? CDs, iPod, whatever...?
In the car, I listen to CDs. Walking to work and while sewing, I listen to the iPod. If we're sitting outside or playing Wii and listening, usually iTunes hooked up to the better speakers except that my laptop died, so now we're back to CDs.
Are you sure you can't tell us why you like Leonardo best?
Okay, it's because I prefer blue.
Do you realize that every other BMOTM posed that question chose Donatello?
No, I did not realize that.
Any reason why you think that would be the case?
I could not speculate on any given person's motivations for choosing his or her favorite Ninja Turtle.

LOL, I love how legalish that answer is
And I love your aquarium pictures!
More questions -
If you could do it all over again, would you choose to follow the same educational/career path? What is the farthest you have ever traveled? If money was not an issue, where would you most love to visit? Do you subscribe to any physical papers, magazines or journals? Is the iPad really cool, or is it just an ipod touch for people with bad eyesight? Do you and Josh plan on getting married someday?

If you could do it all over again, would you choose to follow the same educational/career path?
I don't know. I enjoy what I'm doing, but I don't have any interest in being a traditional lawyer. And I have a ton of debt, which I didn't have when I started law school. Right now, I would probably go back and be a paralegal. Theoretically, though, I will be making better money in a few years (assuming NV gets through its money troubles), and I might be happier about the path I took then.
What is the farthest you have ever traveled?
By plane, from Knoxville, TN, to Maui, HI (via Sioux City, IA). By car, from Atlanta, GA, to Carson City, NV (via California).
If money was not an issue, where would you most love to visit?
I'd love to take a cruise to Alaska during the Northern Lights. Runners up would be Scotland and Australia.
Do you subscribe to any physical papers, magazines or journals?
Not anymore. I had a subscriction to Cooking Light that just ran out, but I'm not renewing it because I never actually make anything out of it and that sucker is expensive! I'm considering getting one to the Food Network magazine, but I probably wouldn't make anything out of it either, but I enjoy reading it more.
Is the iPad really cool, or is it just an ipod touch for people with bad eyesight?
Option B.
Do you and Josh plan on getting married someday?
We've talked about it, but it's not something we necessarily plan on doing. It just doesn't seem like it would change anything, and a wedding is expensive.

Have you ever... had braces?
Yes because my canines were up too high, and my bottom teeth were just crooked. My top teeth are still straight, but my bottom ones are crooked again. My doctor kept trying to bond a retainer onto the bottom ones, but it kept popping off. He finally made me a removable retainer, but I didn't really wear it, and now I have to live with the results of that.
broken any bones?
I broke my toe once in elementary school while at a slumber party.
had stitches?
Yep, in my mouth when I had my wisdom teeth removed.
had surgery?
See previous answer.
Do you... take vitamins?
No, I know that I should, but I always forget.
floss daily?
No, I know that I should, but I always forget.
use sunscreen?
Yes.
cough/sneeze into your sleeve?
I usually cough and sneeze into the inside of my elbow.

Do you like hardwood?
Of course, who doesn't?
What's been your most favorite festival moment?
When the Polyphonic Spree did Lithium at the Echo Project.
The whole set was so much fun, but when they started Lithium, the crowd went nuts.
Runners up go to Thievery Corporation's sunset show at Echo, and the time at Roo that we were walking past the Port-O-Potties, and there was a guy standing there talking to a girl with his junk just hanging out of his shorts.
Do you cook on a regular basis? If so, what's the best thing you've cooked recently?
I wouldn't say I cook regularly, I kind of get motivated for awhile, and then I'll cook every night for two weeks. Then I won't cook anything for a month. I think my favorite thing that I've cooked recently were chicken and black bean burritos, but I also think I'm forgetting something that was really good since then.
Does your mama sing the blues?
No, she's more of a southern gospel kind of gal.
When was the last time you had road rage?
Every time I drive.
What's the nastiest thing you've ever had in your mouth?
I was trying to think of a good, clever answer to this, but it's too early in the morning. (I'm on Pacific time, so it's only 8:40 here right now). A few years ago, I got a double cheeseburger from McDonalds that was revolting. I took one bite and spit it out. I don't know what was wrong with it, but I didn't get another McDonalds cheeseburger for a long time after that.
You travelled to Hawaii via Sioux City, Iowa??? We call it Sewer City around here. I've never thought of Sioux City as a travel hub. How did that happen? (lame question, I know, but I'm very curious)
If you're going this year, what act at Roo are you most excited about?

You travelled to Hawaii via Sioux City, Iowa??? We call it Sewer City around here. I've never thought of Sioux City as a travel hub. How did that happen?
My grandparents took me to Hawaii my senior year of high school, and they lived in Sioux City at the time. I flew by myself from Knoxville to somewhere (Atlanta, maybe?) and then to Sioux City to meet them . . . actually, it may have been Omaha. It's been 13 years now, so I'm not 100% sure. Sometimes when I visited, I flew directly to Sioux City, and sometimes I flew to Omaha. Anyway, then we flew from Sioux City to Dallas(?, maybe California?) to Hawaii together.
As a side note, do you remember the plane that crashed in the Sioux City airport in 1989? This one: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Airlines_Flight_232 When that plane crashed, I was on another plane headed for the Sioux City airport. We got diverted to Omaha. The night before, I had a little freakout about getting on the plane the next day. It was the only time I've ever been really afraid to fly. I call it my little psychic experience.
If you're going this year, what act at Roo are you most excited about?
We moved from GA to NV at the beginning of this year, and, although we actually quite like the lineup this year, it's not quite worth it to us to shell out as much money as it would take to travel that far to go, so Roo is out, but if I was going, I would probably be most excited about Tenacious D. There are actually a number of acts I would be excited about, but I think that one would be particularly fun.

What question, if any, has someone not asked of you yet, that you would like to answer?
I would like to tell you all that my favorite Seinfeld character is David Puddy (even though he apparently was only on 10 episodes).
If you could be in any of Pixar's movies as an animated character, which one would it be?
Well, in fairness, I've only seen Toy Story and A Bug's Life and that's been about a hundred years ago, but Wikipedia has just informed me that Jack-Jack Parr from the Incredibles is a shape-shifter, who can pass through walls, levitate, and teleport (if you can teleport, why do you need to be able to pass through walls?), so I'm going to go with him.
Ideally, what would you want your last words to be?
"Good night, Josh. I love you. See you in the morning."

Do you collect anything? Which is your favorite inforoo smiley face? Who is your favorite U.S. president? What is love? What is the last museum you visited? Chocolate chip cookies or chocolate chip cookie dough? Does your new place feel like home yet?
Post by NothingButFlowers on Apr 11, 2010 0:12:45 GMT -5
Do you collect anything?
Not really. I used to collect rubber stamps, but I never really did anything with them, so I recently gave away most of them. I kept my favorites, but I gave away a lot. The person I gave them to gave me a gift card to PetSmart to thank me. The dogs were really happy about that.
Which is your favorite inforoo smiley face?
I use the most, but I like the best because it's super-expressive.
Who is your favorite U.S. president?
Clinton. Maybe it was because of him, and maybe it wasn't, but things were so good when Clinton was in office. And, damn, I know he didn't do everything right, but he just seems like such a likeable guy. My grandfather is a super conservative republican, but he met Clinton a couple of times and really liked him as a person. I doubt that any of you know my grandfather, so it probably doesn't mean much to you, but that made a huge impression on me when I heard that.
What is love?
Love is waking up in the morning and being glad that the person next to you is there. Love is having a difficult day at work and being happy to know that you are going home to the person you are going home to. Love is smiling because you know the person next to you is going to be there tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow.
What is the last museum you visited?
The High Museum of Art in Atlanta in 2007. I can't believe it's been that long. That's kind of embarassing.
Chocolate chip cookies or chocolate chip cookie dough?
Definitely chocolate chip cookies. I like cookie dough, but you can't beat that warm, straight-from-the-oven goodness of a chocolate chip cookie.
Does your new place feel like home yet?
It's funny. I hadn't really thought about it, but it does. We've made a big effort to get our stuff on the walls and really make the apartment ours . . . more so than we did with either of our places in Atlanta I think. Not related to the apartment, but to feeling at home in the city in general, I think it helps that I've met a couple of people here that I consider good friends so far. I had people in Atlanta that I considered friends, but not in the same way. I dunno, it definitely makes the city feel more like home, though.

Since there's a lull in questions, I'll go ahead and ask mine: Who from Inforoo have you met in person?
I met DirtyJerzee at Roo in 2006. I met some other folks who were hanging out at Camp Inforoo at the time, but I can't remember who all was there. I'm pretty sure Tara and Leo were both there, and I think I talked to samhall and his girlfriend later that day when I was waiting in line for one of the comedy shows.
In October 2007, we camped with Dude at the one and only Echo Project in Georgia. While there, I also met Alyroo, Chefchick, and WellBalancedMusic.
In May 2008(?), I met Druid, but all I remember about that was that I hugged her a whole bunch of times and probably scared her a little bit. (That was the night that I learned that me and liquor are not a good match.)
In May 2009, I met CrazyCocoKittenSmile when I went to San Diego for a work trip. She was nice enough to take me to a really great Mexican restaurant and show me around a little bit.
