Ok - I just scrolled through and could not see where anyone asked these:
WHY did you become an attorney? I mean, what made you decide on that career path? (I ask because I never planned to become a paralegal - it just kinda happened)
How and where did you and Josh meet? What is the most romantic thing he has done for you? What is the thing he does that annoys you the most? What is the thing he does that can always make you smile?

I went into undergrad thinking I was going to be a high school English teacher. That lasted about a semester before I realized that I didn't want to be broke for the rest of my life. I bounced around a bit, trying to decide what I wanted to do, but I ended up just keeping my English Lit. major because I never really settled on anything that seemed good to me. So, I was coming up on graduation with a major that is basically only good for teaching, and I didn't want to teach. My advisor told me that the law school looks favorably on English majors, and a girl I worked with at the time mentioned that she was considering going to law school, so I decided to look into it. It seemed like a good option because I had an appropriate background, it would give me a few options on graduation, and I like to argue. What's funny about that last one is that I can't really see myself ever being a litigator, so I guess it shouldn't really be a factor. Even funnier, I can't see myself being a negotiator, either, so I'm not really sure what I was thinking to be honest. I think I just didn't want to be done with school yet. I'm just glad I've found these court jobs because they actually are pretty perfect for me. I don't really make lawyer money, but I do okay, and I've only got to work 40 hours a week, so it all worked out okay in the end.
How and where did you and Josh meet?
He started working with my roommate at the time, and then it turned out that he lived in the apartment downstairs from us. My roommate was a lesbian, and before he and I met, he thought that Rachael and I were a couple. He and his roommates called us the loud-ass lesbians upstairs (we were loud, but we weren't that loud; it was just that the floors were hardwood, and the building was old, so there was no sound insulation). Anyway, she asked him if he wanted to go see a movie with me, and he thought she was just trying to get her girlfriend out of her hair for a little while. He agreed, we hit it off, and 10 years later, here we are.
What is the most romantic thing he has done for you?
I don't know. We're not really romantic in the flowers and candle-light dinners kind of sense. He does practical stuff to show me he loves me, like meeting me and walking me home from work, cleaning the house ,and driving all the way across the country so that I don't have to be scared to death pulling a trailer.
What is the thing he does that annoys you the most?
He puts his fingers in my armpits.
What is the thing he does that can always make you smile?

Do you still have/use a VCR?
We have a DVD/VCR combo, but we haven't used the VCR part in a couple of years, and we've actually probably only used it once since we had it. We just recently got DirecTV with a DVR, so we are getting a ton of use out of that.
How about an audio cassette player/recorder?
No, it's probably been at least 5 years since we had a working cassette player.
When did you first get a cell phone?
My very first cell phone was in 1997 when I went away to college, but I really never used it. The first cell phone that I used was around earlyish 2003.
Do you even still have a landline?
No. I think we got rid of it sometime around late 2004, early 2005.
Ever own an 8-Track player?
No, but my grandparents had this one:
Favorite Tom Hanks acting project? Least favorite?
Favorite: The Ladykillers Least Favorite: You've Got Mail
Was there ever a toy you really wanted, but never got?
It wasn't a toy, but when I was a kid, I really, really, really wanted an overhead projector. It's weird, right? But I did. I asked for one every year for Christmas and on my birthday, and every year I was thankful for all the gifts I got, but sorely disappointed that I didn't get my overhead projector.
If you were at a Six Flags what's the first thing you'd do? Any rides you'd steer clear of?
You know the freefall ride that the girls get on at the end of Zombieland (hopefully that doesn't ruin anything for anyone )? I'd go there first. I don't think there's anything I'd avoid, but I don't know. It's been a long time since I've been to an amusement park. I might be more chicken now than I was 15 years ago.
Got a favorite drinking game? Not really.
What's the funniest Eddie Murphy movie of all?
Trading Places
If you had $100 to gamble with what would you gamble on?
Scratch-off lotto tickets.
The last time you saw a sunrise?
I don't think I've ever actually seen a sunrise. I've been awake when the sun was rising, but I wasn't actually watching it. And one time, I tried to go see a sunrise because someone told me to go to this particular place because the sunrise was awesome there. Turned out, she apparently was just talking out her a$$ because the sun rose in the opposite direction. I guess in retrospect, I should have thought about which way I was facing and figured out that the sun didn't rise that way, but there were special circumstances that prevented me from figuring it out (circumstances aside from my natural inability to have any clue which direction is which). Anyway, needless to say, I was disappointed.
Condensed Soup or Progresso?
Campbell's Select Harvest
Nicholas Cage- Yay or Nay?
Nicholas Cage was fantastic in Raising Arizona, Adaptation, and Wild at Heart. I can't think of any other movie he's made that's worth watching.
Ever tried Astronaut Ice Cream?
Once, when I was a kid, we went to the space center in Huntsville, and I think I had it then. I don't remember liking it.
What's the first Steve Gutttenberg movie you think of?
Although, when I saw it, it was called Don't Tell Her It's Me.
Best TV show that ever got canceled way too soon?
sitcom: Arrested Development drama: Carnivale
Worst TV show that ever ran way too long?
I'm probably gonna get some sh!t for this, but: The Family Guy.
Lifetime supply of what candy bar?
Snickers
Hawaiian or Alaskan vacation?
I've been to Hawaii, so if I was given the choice now, I'd probably go to Alaska. If I'd never been to either, I'd probably have to pick Hawaii. If I'm going to Alaska, though, I want to go on a cruise there.
Bonnaroo or a long weekend in Napa Valley?
It depends on who's at Bonnaroo, but most likely, I'd take the long weekend in Napa Valley.
Sorry I've been slacking and it's last minute, but I had a few more I've been meaning to ask.
In light of Justice John Paul Stevens retiring... Who's your favorite current Supreme Court justice? Least? If one of those answers is Stevens, who's second behind him? Any particular Supreme Court decisions you disagree with? Do you think Barack Obama will someday be nominated after his presidency?
What was your inspiration for entering the field of law?
Any big plans for the weekend?
If I were to knock on your door right now, desirous of an alcoholic beverage... what would be my options?

In light of Justice John Paul Stevens retiring... Who's your favorite current Supreme Court justice?
I feel like I should preface this with a warning that I'm kind of a shallow lawyer in this regard. While I obviously have a pretty good feeling for the leanings of the justices (if you're paying any attention at all, it'd be pretty hard not to), I don't really have strong opinions about the justices themselves. I know it's the kind of thing some lawyers get all excited about, so they learn a lot and have lots to say on the justices. I am not one of those lawyers. Now I have made myself feel defensive, and I would like to add that I don't think this makes me a bad lawyer. It's just that I'm into a different side of things. I research cases and I analyze issues, and I'm very good at those things. I guess what I'm saying is that I'm not into the more political side of the law.
Anyway, with that said, I think my favorite is Justice Kennedy. I don't necessarily agree with him all (or even most) of the time, but the fact that he tends to be the swing vote tells me that he is judging cases more on the facts and law of the individual case, rather than on his political leanings, which is how a Supreme Court Justice should do his/her job.
As far as justices I tend to agree with more, I'd go with Ginsburg.
Least?
Scalia.
If one of those answers is Stevens, who's second behind him? n/a
Any particular Supreme Court decisions you disagree with?
Herring v. United States, 129 S.Ct. 695 (2009).
Do you think Barack Obama will someday be nominated after his presidency?
I hadn't given it much thought, but it doesn't seem all that far-fetched to me.
What was your inspiration for entering the field of law?
I was coming up on the end of undergrad, and I literally didn't know what else to do. I didn't want to teach, I wasn't really ready to be out of school, and I knew I wasn't going to make any real money unless I got some kind of graduate degree. In retrospect, I think that eventually it will pay off, but I'm not so sure I'd do it again.
Any big plans for the weekend?
Tonight, I'm going to the fabric store, and tomorrow, I'm going to sew a tote bag for my mom for her birthday. I will probably also drink some wine at some point, and we may drive out to Tahoe to walk around and take some pictures. It's supposed to be nice this weekend, so we'll try to do something outside. On Sunday, I'm planning on making Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies. Thrill-a-minute.
If I were to knock on your door right now, desirous of an alcoholic beverage... what would be my options?
You'd be s.o.l. We had red wine last night, but we drank it all.

ooooooh, wine! what is your favorite red? do you have all the lids for your tupperware-type containers? (does anyone?) can you please post the recipe for the aforementioned cookies? what one piece of advice would you give someone considering a career in the legal field? do you have a garden? if not, do you wish you did? Is lucky bamboo really lucky? Favorite musical artist/band you've discovered in the past year? Favorite nut? Book you've read the most times over?
As of now, they are the first recipe listed. The only problem is that I don't have a stand mixer with a paddle attachment, so I'm concerned about them coming out wrong.
what one piece of advice would you give someone considering a career in the legal field?
Try to work in a law firm in some capacity (legal secretary, paralegal, runner, something) before deciding whether or not you want to go to law school.
do you have a garden? if not, do you wish you did?
No, we have about a 12X12 back "yard" area that has weeds and woodchips, but no actual grass or soil. I do wish I had a garden, but I'm not sure I'd be so good at keeping it growing.
Favorite musical artist/band you've discovered in the past year?
Slim Cessna's Auto Club
Favorite nut?
Cashew
Book you've read the most times over?
I read it like 15 times when I was a kid. More recently, I've read all of the Dark Tower books twice and the first few four times.

If you could visit any city in the US that you haven't already been to, where would you go? Had to think on this for a while...I want to visit just about everywhere! Does it bother you when people pop their gum? crack their knuckles? slurp their soup? No, but it does bother me when people blow their nose at the dinner table.
What was the last thing you gave up? I have recently banned Phish Food from my apartment. It's too good, I can't be held responsible in its presence.
Are you happy with your AT&T Uverse? (I tried to get it but it's not available here.) I love it! Have never had any problems at all with TV or internet, which is more than I can say for my friends with regular cable. I am quite happy with it.

What do you think people misunderstand most about what the mods do? It always surprises me when people think we have anything to do with running the festival.
What do inforoosters do that you find most annoying? Act like Lenos! It doesn't happen often, but it's not easy to tell someone they're being a smurf semi-politely ;D
How is being a mod different from what you expected? It's not really much different than I expected, someone put it perfectly once when they likened the mod forum to a teachers lounge at a whacky school
Did you go to college, and if so, what did you study? If not, what would you like to have studied? I graduated from SDSU with a degree in sociology... if I had it to do over again I'd probably major in geology
We now know where you want to travel domestically.... what about international destinations? I went on a Mediterranean cruise this past November, I'd love to see the rest of Europe. Also it's been a dream of mine to travel to New Zealand, it just seems so magical.
Met anyone famous? Not anyone really famous, just smallish time comedians and musicians
How long have you lived in San Diego? My whole life (29 years)
What year was your first roo? My first roo was 2006, consequently the year my favorite band (radiohead) played the fest ;D
Favorite time of year? Fall. I love the crisp cool air and the crunchy leaves! Plus the season contains my birthday and favorite holiday, Halloween! What's not to love?
What do you do for a living? I am a research grant administrator. It's totally as dry and boring as it sounds, but I work with great (and really smart) people. I haven't found a career to spark my passion yet...
Favorite hobby? Photography, it's been a hobby of mine since high school...I was the only person in my high school to use the dark room... it has since been scrapped
Have any unusual facts about yourself? I like skunks. I only had 3 wisdom teeth. I leave my curtains open at all times...and I have 2 walls of floor to ceiling windows. I don't use an alarm clock.
How much time do you spend on inforoo per day? It varies, I always have the window open, but the actual time spent can be anywhere from 15 minutes to a few hours... I spend lots of time on the IRC channel nowadays too, I need to get my roo fill!
