yeah. so i got my hotel package. iffy on staying in hotel for festy and would love to camp but this just seems so much easier than dealing with flying cross country with camping gear.

I dunno if I'd expect anything too crazy from them at this festival. I think mostly I'd just expect a lot of really awesome music, and some really awesome people, all mixed together for a truly awesome Halloween weekend.
I am curious what kind of set lengths they'll pull out. I don't know if I'd expect any late night marathon sets, but it would be nice to see maybe like a 4 hour 10-2 show or something. It all depends on those curfew laws I suppose
Just bought mine with a shuttle pass from Ace hotel in palm springs. I'm coming from boston and I booked a flight and a hotel package (holiday inn express) in cathedral city (~5 mi from the Ace hotel in palm springs) for under $750 for four nights. Because I'm coming so far, I thought it would be worth setting up base at cheap hotel near the airport, getting a good night's sleep on Thursday, then hauling a tent and some light camping supplies to the grounds on friday, not going back to the hotel until sunday night. I fanybody thinks this is a good plan and wants to split a hotel room near the Palm Springs airport, hit me up.

I'd probably be trying to make excuses for myself too though if I could even remotely afford it
Well I heard Wilson bought the Polo grounds, that is why I am not going.
Seriously though I could afford it, but not that and Bear Creek, and SS 42 ( I mean seriously 42!!!!!), and Leonard Cohen and all the other stuff I want to do this fall. When I look at it that way I am happy with the trade off.
EDIT
I still really really like Phish though and will be at multiple shows before the year is out. I just don't see f8 in the cards though.

Remember that old thread about How Will a Large Phish Crowd Change Bonnaroo?
There's this jacka$$ who's clearly not a fan (Trey's mug shot? Really?) selling an F8 ticket for $1700, and in the Phish Late Summer thread there's a link to a real fan who is giving away a free Gorge ticket.

i sent him a message on ebay laughing and asking if it was a joke. the saddest part is if you are selling something that expensive on ebay, the seller fees are probably at least $100.

^^If history is a good indication, you're just gonna have to recognize it when it begins. Surely there will be some people in the crowd shouting "HOLY SHYT THEY'RE PLAYING ________!!!!" so in that way I guess you could say it'll be announced

Oh phuck yeah, just booked my flight into the LBC and my F8 ticket. I had a chance to go to IT in high school, but that was before I was even remotely into Phish. I curse myself everyday for missing out on that. But it's like they say, "Fool me once...shame on...uhh...shame on you. Fool me, can't get fooled again."
6/18: Phish in Hartford 6/25: Phish in Camden 7/2-7/4: Nateva 7/17: God Street Wine at Irving Plaza 7/23-7/25: String Cheese at Red Rocks!! 8/17-8/18: Phish at Jones Beach 9/3: Rush at PNC
This Bonnaroo lineup is in dire need of some Rush.

Surrealistic Pillow would be pretty cool for Halloween. All Things Must Pass was mentioned earlier... That would be absolutely incredible. A friend of mine calls Incesticide or OK Computer.

^^ I have to second Ok Computer. Third it, I think, because I'm pretty sure I remember somebody suggesting that way upthread. But really, how great would that be?
