Have you listened to the entire album yet, it's on npr.org and it's streaming for free. Sunday is absolutely stacked, Jonsi, Thom, Pavement, Gorillaz, Orbital, absolutely ridiculous.
Yep, just checked it out yesterday. Some pretty cool stuff on the album, and enough to have me pre-order it. But yeah, I don't know how Sunday is going to work. Fever Ray is the act I most want to see, but the next 5 on my list that I most want to see are on Sunday.
Yeah he's the lead singer of one of the best bands in the world but I don't get why everyone's so excited about Thom Yorke. The Eraser isn't very good. I don't know anyone who likes his solo stuff.
If I was going
1. Gorillaz 2. Fever Ray 3. Faith No More 4. Orbital 5. Grace Jones 6. Gary Numan 7. The Specials 8. Public Image LTD 9. Muse 10. 2manyDJs

Clearly you're not friends with many Radiohead fans...

lovin' it. Empire Ants is my jam. how about you? you've done some serious listening since 2008 man. and i thought i was a music addict.
I don't have much going on haha.
I'm really liking it so far. I'm trying not to overplay it, I think I've gone through ten or so full plays by now. Empire Ants is definitely an early favorite. When the beat drops and Little Dragon comes in is fantastic. Can't wait for their set.

Should be insanely good times. My dad and I are going, and he admits to knowing the bare minimum of names on the poster, but is pumped about the Gorillaz set. Hopefully we'll get up close for it. I've always wondered how they pull it off live, do they drop the whole cartoon thing and just play as a normal band would, or do they have some special theatrics in store?

Nobody knows yet, last time they did live shows it was like this,
Either way it's going to be a huge spectacle, and one worth traveling across the country for. Thing of it like Daft Punk in 06, no one knew what they were going to bring, then they had the Pyramid.

I wonder what happened with Grace Jones. That makes me feel a little better about not going but still, bummer. Porcupine Tree is amazing but they're touring all over so they don't make any must see at coachella lists. You have to take advantage of all the rare stuff while you're there. The Sahara is on the weak side this year with all the mainstream DJ's but there's still some great stuff like Orbital, Flying Lotus, Proxy, Wolfgang Gartner, Erol Alkan, etc. I'm curious to see the schedule. They usually do a great job with it but Friday night last year was brutal with McCartney, APTBS, Patton and Rahzel, and the Presets all at the same time, then Crystal Method after Presets.
For the record, I didn't think your comparing BD and Suff's trolling to the Holocaust was offensive at all. It was on point.
It might been a bit of a push, but I was saying as I guess you understood: Who are we to say someone should not post on a board just because we don't agree with them/they are different then the average poster/etc. I am no better then any other poster and it goes the other way. sorry for the rant here. cr****
Holla! Just booked the trip today. The girlfriend and I will be going the hotel route, though we'd love to meet up in the camp grounds just to peep the scene out there anyways. Can't wait. Now if only the f'n schedule would come out sooner, I'd be able to brace myself for tortuous conflicts. As long as Thom Yorke and Gorillaz don't conflict, I won't have to kill anyone.
Well, I booked today but I'm flying into the Ontario, CA airport via Southwest and their prices don't really vary day to day. It's $330 roundtrip from Nashville, but luckily all of my business travel is paying off since I got one of our flights free and lodging free as well through points/miles.
