im just gonna keep my sunglasses on the whole time..........and keep my dancing to a relatively simple two step pattern!!! You think they'll still know? lol jk
its a party on the beach...just party hardy!!! Just remember to be safe, be smart, and look out for one another and everyone will be sure to have a good time... I just keep envisioning what the whole festival atmosphere and hooplah (and all that it brings w/it...partying culture etc) is gonna look like to all the slow paced, beach community, southern fried necks that live in this area....Its prob a total culture shock for sure. I know this will look nothing like roo, but its sure to attract alot of folks and activities that you wouldnt normally find in the coastal deep south with its older/wealthier beach residents..... it makes me laugh.

I think it will look something like roo, probably not so many wooks, but we will see a few. The town is going to hate us all, except for convenient store clerks and beach shop guys. I've never interacted much with the people of Manchester. I came across a few... a dude pumping gas next to me, a dude taking my order at Arbys. They're weird people. I come from Knoxville, but it is a big city compared to all this countryboy sh*t. This thing should be held in Panama City. It's going to be hit or miss. Panama City would love it! Be safe, be smart, know what's behind-beside-in front at all times, don't rubberneck, and keep your sunglasses on
I grew up worshipping Rock and Roll like a religion. I know its shortcomings and strengths but have loved it unconditionally all the same since I was eight-years old. I ran away and joined the circus and honestly, I'm still as obsessed as I was as a boy. I'm not a kid anymore but I still remember how it felt and it doesn't really feel all that different to me now.
^^^ see - and I think when you go in with attitudes like that - you are just looking for trouble - You have to remember that the majority of the coast is still recovering from Katrina and Ike and any number of other nasty storms in recent past years - they want our money or they would not be doing a festy at all.
They realize that we bring money - you may get a few weird looks but the average festy goer - truthfully - looks like an average college kid out for a weekend of partying and it will look even more like that at the beach with bathing suits, shorts, tank tops and flip flops.
Doesn't seem like it would have been made by the festival promoters. It looks pretty amateur.
Either way, I can't wait for this! I had already planned a beach tip down there over July 4th, but had to add on another Gulf Coast weekend to my summer after I saw this!
It does look too amateur for the promoters, but if you look at their other videos they are all related in some way to local Gulf Shores businesses / events. Strange.
I can't wait for this either, friend. I don't know if it's my uncontrollable enthusiasm about this festival or just the sweetness of the venue and condo I've rented, but it seems like everyone I know is getting on board for the Hangout. What started with me and a friend (and I bought her ticket to make sure someone would go with me hah) has already reached two cars and 7 people at least. The condo isn't going to be quite as roomy as I thought, but hey the more the merrier!

Whooo Hangout Fest!!! I'm stoked. I was really looking forward to 'Roo being my first ever music fest but... what can you do right? lol
It'll be me, my boyfriend, my little brother(who is the freakin coolest person I know), my dad, my dad's girlfriend's daughter and her boyfriend. (6 ppl all together) and we're ALL festie virgins!
I'm totally freakin STOKED to be partying with my dad for a weekend! He's also footing the bill for EVERY ONE OF US that's going. Spent over $1,000 bucks on all our tickets and a little over $400.00 bucks on the condo for the weekend. My dad rocks. ;D

that would make me way happy too..... im tired of this cold/shitty weather....where is the effing sun!!!!!!
im going silly waiting for May......and the sun....and the beach....and the tunes. MAybe the lineup additions will come out soon....then a schedule to follow perhaps.
I wasn't planning on walking, so I still plan on going.. I'm just a little concerned that my mother will expect us to celebrate or something.
This shows how much I keep up with my schooling.
tell your mom that you can celebrate the following weekend - but don't scare me like that...
I didn't mean to scare. I didn't even know if my mom realized yet that I had no intention of walking. I was worried she'd tell me a festival wasn't a valid reason but when I called her she basically said she doesn't care if I walk or not, she just wants me to graduate.
i'm not too worried about the police. But you've all got me thinking and the way i see it, as long as the condo has a kitchen, i will be doing some baking. U're all welcome to come over for some cookies pre or post fest. :-) Because, who doesn't like cookies??? Can't F-in Wait!

TO: triponthis
I'm down. Never had any uh, festival cookies. always wanted to try some. I always thought it would be a waste of materials, but I don't really know much about it.
and I got that same e-mail earlier today. does anyone know when they are going to post what stores the flyers are going to be at?

yeah, my questions are as follows:
Are the (prizes I guess u would call them) based on how many points you get. (which i'm sure they are but still wanna know for sure)
And are they going to list what you get for x amount of points?
hopefully they get this site up soon. But u know I don't even know the web address for the site. I guess they'll e-mail it to us.
and awesome about the cookies. I might learn how to make some sometime.... actually if u ever get time could you e-mail me a recipe? That would be greatly appreciated, i might even bring some cookies to share at the festival too.
thanks poster-nutbag. I wasn't sure if it was gonna be kewl to post recipes on here, but posting websites is a diff thing altogether. U evil genius! ha jk
