Having seen the Flaming Lips a couple of times, I wasn't too excited for that set. Never seen the Roots, though, except for about 15 minutes at one of the bonnaroos.

By this time next week, I'll be on the way to drop off my son, then waiting on Wolfaroo to get off of work. I cannot wait to get this show on the road.

I hope you mean a week from yesterday you'll be dropping off your son and so forth, by this time next week we should be lounging on the beach, sipping on a frosty brew and nomming on some corn!
By this time next week - meh - I will still be at work and will still have to deal with the scheduling of getting the kids where they need to be so that i can leave for the coast the next morning

i think i am gonna be headin down on thursday and none of my friends are gonna be able to make it down till friday, so i would love to take that camping spot off your hands for thursday night.

i have a friend who definitely has a campsite reserved, but he's not going. and the first night would be free because he's already put down the deposit.
We can smell the oil up here in Jackson, Mississippi today. The wind is coming out of the West South West gusting to 20 mph - it's a chemical type of smell

So physically i'm at work right now.
But in my mind i'm sittin on the beach, feelin the salty breeze blow through my hair and the water gently lapping at my toes as I nom on some corn and sip on something buzzworthy.
I grew up worshipping Rock and Roll like a religion. I know its shortcomings and strengths but have loved it unconditionally all the same since I was eight-years old. I ran away and joined the circus and honestly, I'm still as obsessed as I was as a boy. I'm not a kid anymore but I still remember how it felt and it doesn't really feel all that different to me now.
ALL PROFITS?? That is impossible for me to believe.
It's definitely a very nice gesture, and I'm sure it is ALL profits. But keep in mind profit is just what is left after all expenses have been paid. I'm curious to see if they do make any profit. I think it's rare for any festival to turn a profit in the first year.
I just read that 100% of all profits from the late night shows are going to Gulf Clean Up--I'm not sure how the other profits are going to be going to oil spill cleanup efforts, but I guess we'll see when the time comes.
Oh, and P.S. Locals are going to receive free admission with proof that they've completed volunteer training. Looks like I'll be going for free! Woot!
