I really wanted to go to this because I love Gulf Shores. But after seeing that initial lineup, I am currently giving a thumbs down gesture and making a loud fart noise.

Hmm, Meg's boyfriend is gonna be there
For a 1st year fest, it doesn't look bad at all to me. I like it. If it was local I'd definitely be there, I wish Long Island had a big Festy on the Beach.
And with 26 bands on the lineup so far, there's still a ton to be added... I gotta assume Jimmy Buffett might end up being one of them??
Not that I can get down there, but I do have to wonder if I have any friends who happen to have summer homes near by? ;D
And for a first year festie it DOES look pretty good...Black Crowes, Keller, Guster (that could get Bunny down ;D) and the Beach too...and a FREE place to crash. Yeah....this might be very doable!

Same here, bama. Free place to stay + short drive = might actually be able to swing this one. Not the greatest lineup in festival history, but there's enough on it that I hope I make it.
Seems like a very strange lineup. Not strong enough to get hippies to travel, not country / mainstream enough to draw the local community. If he does a great job of marketing, he could be successful. Otherwise, I think the poor guy is going to lose a ton of $$$.
definitely not bad for a first year of the fest. and that's less than half the lineup if they plan to have over 60 bands. i won't be going, but it actually could be a decent festival. i just hope alison krauss playing fests means she will be at roo.

And you haven't called me yet?? I just tried to call you tho - been busy all day - call me when you get a chance - let's make plans
as LRH said - my boyfriend will be there - makes it very attractive for me - LOL
Sorry, didn't have the cell handy. Trying to get the kiddo down. He's still kinda freaked about the shooting.
But yeah, let's make some plans, I'll give ya a yell tomorrow. Gotta check the dates out and make sure all's good and nothing's up that weekend, but should be able to work it out with this much notice.
And as for the early bird tix....the 'rents are heading down there next week....if there's anyone who's ABSOLUTELY sure they are in...I can arrange to get tix....but it's all in. No rainchecks, no refunds, no regrets!

I would still be freaked about that about that also if I was him. Scary things.

Well The festival itself is going to be in the main public beach parking lot is looks like, Not sure where they will be parking the people (maybe in some of the vacant lots?)
There is PLENTY of public day parking (FREE) and lots of public restrooms, changing rooms and showers (FREE) all around the public beaches where the festie will be held. Plus the Gulf State Park about 3-4 miles down the Beach Highway from the Hangout has camping hookups, a lodge/hotel and cabins for rent at very reasonable prices. There are a ton of hotels in the general area that aren't outrageous in price and TONS of condo rentals in the area that should be very negotiable on price since that will be before prime season. Worst case...check out hotels in Foley and/or Summerville and Robertsdale which are only about a half hour drive from Gulf Shores...they should be rock bottom prices and just a short drive in.....lodging at reasonable prices should be no problem. it's getting a decent parking spot that's the real issue which is still no problem IF you know the area and where to go. ;D
Well, if you need a place to stay...just PM me....I know you have friends in the area but if something falls through just call me or PM me...you DO have my cell # don't you? You have a place to stay in the Orange Beach house if you need it!
