I was waiting and waiting yesterday for them to update with anything so this is good. I am the eternal pessimist - 'specially when it comes to new things and goven the fact that they took forever to get a line up released and then said that tickets would go on sale online yesterday and I never could find a link to buy them or any kind of update - this gives me more hope
I do see one thing that sucks - it's on the beach but there is a fence so that you can't get to the water - which I guess I can understand since they are selling tickets and they obviously have to keep people from coming in without a ticket but I wish they had figured a way to include "some" water

Looks like they even cut the Pink Pony out of it...oh well.
At least it gives me parking ideas.....there are a couple of public beaches further down along west bank that are still within walking distance.....but down coming from Orange Beach it's gonna be a pain as it's all condos and business from the state park on. I think we'll come in on Canal and just go through that way.....
I've been mulling this over. This fest might be a possibility.... that is, if I can find someone to come with me and can find cheap lodging. I haven't seen a beach in so long, I've really been wanting to go and this might be a good excuse!
My question is in regards to camping at the Gulf State Park. I don't have an RV, so are the campgrounds okay for tent/car camping? The website says: "All camping pads are paved with larger lots for RV's with pullouts." Does that mean the entire site is all paved? Anyone been there before?

No, there is grass next to the camping pads you can setup tents on

This is the perfect excuse for you to go to the beach!
OK, just talked to my mom and looks like everything is a green light for Hangout Festie weekend for the Orange Beach House! ;D The 'rents will be going down about a week earlier for their apres tax season get away (my mom is a CPA) and she was actually excited that I might not go to Roo this year (she hates me going to Roo...worries constantly and was super psyched that I would be in a place she KNOWS like the back of her hand sooo...that helped! ) I didn't mention that I was still on the fence bout Roo....what she doesn't know till AFTER Hangout won't hurt any of us.
So...if you are planning to stay with me in Orange Beach...we got the house that weekend so go ahead and buy tix and make plans. PLUS my mom reminded me that in general...if Gulf Shores is having a major event (like the Shrimp Festival etc)...they provide FREE shuttle service all the way to the FL line...continuously. I am going to check out the Gulf Shores AND Orange Beach websites for more info. Cause if we can just drive down to the Publix shopping center in Orange Beach, park and catch a shuttle into the festie...that would be 100x better than fighting the crowd for a parking spot downtown! ;D Can't wait...getting more excited by the minute!
OK - I have a WTF? I was just reading the FAQ's on the Hangout Music Fest website and it says that you cannot bring aerosol cans in - including aerosol sunscreen - that just bites - the sunscreen I use and always take to 'roo that I have NEVER burned with is aerosol - I wonder what the reasoning for that one is?

That's really strange? That's my preferred sunscreen as well. I just looked around on google and I can't find anything dangerous about them anywhere. Maybe email them for their reasoning, I would want to know why.
6/18: Phish in Hartford 6/25: Phish in Camden 7/2-7/4: Nateva 7/17: God Street Wine at Irving Plaza 7/23-7/25: String Cheese at Red Rocks!! 8/17-8/18: Phish at Jones Beach 9/3: Rush at PNC
This Bonnaroo lineup is in dire need of some Rush.
Woh..that lineup just got a lot nicer with those adds....is it Ben Harper solo or with Relentless 7?? Going to have to consider this now..wanted to do a fest in May...how expensive are accommodations down that way??
Man, that line-up looks awesome! I'll be hard-pressed to shoe-horn it in between Memphis in May Music Fest & Waka & Roo (which I'm all 3 attending), but it's very tempting. I'll definitely keep it in mind for next year, if they have it again. Not a bad drive from Memphis, either.
