Crap! Until last week we were going to do Thankgsiving in Orange Beach this year, but my mom decided she didn't want to drive back down so soon for just 5 days since she and my dad spent the whole month of Oct down there. It would have been easy for me to grab the tix. Sigh. I knew I should have been suspicious when she changed plans

^^^ I think it is. The local station down here that really pushes Hangout (92ZEW) has been playing an insane amount of Jack Johnson and older Dave Matthews stuff. May be some form of Dave at the fest as well.
Long lines for the $50 tix down here on Black Friday. They didn't go very far, since I think each location only had 50 or so. But it's expected that they'll do another big discounted sale before they go full price.
This was an awesome time last year, IMO, and very different from Roo (which I of course also love). Glad to see this back for second year! I will be there.

I like Jack Johnson, but not as a headliner. I don't like him that much. When he first started playing Bonnaroo, that time slot and size was perfect for me. And if Dave Matthews plays I might not go. DMB used to be my favorite band but I've seen them 20 times and changed a lot since then, so I'm not really feeling it anymore.

Buffet would be awesome just because of where it is, and I wouldn't be suprised to see it. I'd like to see: Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Tom Petty, CSN. I'd like to see some good, old rock on the beach.
I'd love to go back to The Hangout this year - but we promised the teenager a trip to Bonnaroo for graduation and we just can't pull off both fests.
Truthfully - as much as I love Bonnaroo - if I had to choose - I'd pick The Hangout - I love the beach, our condo was an easy walk, it was nice to have A/C, a shower and a real bed to sleep in each night - plus the pool was an added bonus

Buffett just did a big free benefit concert down here at The Hangout, so I don't think we'll see him. There was actually a big controversy here locally about people hoarding the free tickets and then selling them on eBay. Pretty low.
I think Tom Petty would be an excellent fit for this year. Great call on that.
Hangoutfest just linked to another Christmas cover: The Walkmen "Holiday Road." Are they dropping hints? They have recently also linked to: Warren Haynes, Jack Johnson, Ben Harper, and Matisyahu.

I am fine with all of those links:). Matisyahu did have his set rained out and moved inside the Hangout, so I wouldn't be suprised to see him back on the beach this summer.

Gulf State Park camping is about 2-3 miles away, and last year they ran shuttles back and forth from the campground to The Hangout every 20-30 minutes.
