Hey, just a heads-up...
I just called to reserve my campsite at Gulf State Park, and the lady said it's filling up pretty quickly. Might want to go ahead and do it if you're definitely going and want to camp. She also confirmed that there will be shuttles running over to The Hangout.
Thanks for the heads up! Just made my reservation, there is a non-refundable deposit of $25 but you can change the date and it will be taken off your first night of camping. I may get a hotel anyway, but I figured I would rather be safe than sorry! Had to call three or four times to get somebody on the line, people must be making reservations!!

I just reserved a hotel @ the La quinta...1.1 miles form "the hangout" site.....100 bucks a night.....but being that close makes it worth it... i hear parking is a bitch, it its anything like pensacola beach then there will be no parking. So i figure the 1.1 mile situation makes it easy to walk or what ever, shuttle, cab, crabwalk, etc..The reviews of the hotel were awful fyi, but we're just gonn abe crashing in it anyway, so i dont really care. hooray live music!!!
Oh also...check out moontaxi...they're gonna playing this event..they look and sound just up my. alley so give a lookey...gonna be a sweet show!!

just got my tickets... a friend has a beach house about 20 minutes from there, so that's cool. But yea, we will have to deal with parking so that could be interesting. Nonetheless live music on the beach sounds like the best deal ever.
I was surprised a couple days ago to learn that my roommate bought a ticket to this. I guess my friend Scott (her boyfriend) is also going! Add those two to myself and my friend Devon who I bought a ticket for and we've got a proper posse forming! Can't waittttt!
It's two miles down the road from the festy - it's on the beach - it's only $98 per night and sleeps 6 people
not a bad deal
We were going to stay in Orange Beach with Bamabelle but turns out we have a larger group than originally expected. I found a place just .7 miles from the festy on E. Beach through meyer realty for $83.00 oer night.
If you book through them online - use 10PH for a discount code and get $50 off

was looking into booking a condo and ditching my hotel, but they tacked on so many surcharges and whatnot that the 3nights were over $200 dollars more, and w/ only 3 in my group it jsut didnot add up......$426 dollars for 3 nights at condo^ after $115 gulf shore tax????? WTF.....oh well, la quinta it is.
Yeah the price is a little outrageous, and I can't say I agree with the $100+ "Departure Fee" which is apparently what they charge you to vacuum the carpet, I guess.... but it is right on the beach, it does have a full kitchen, and it is right on the beach. That means a lot to me

Thanks Meg, booked and confirmed!! Woooo!
Awesome!!!! beats a tent and better than a hotel at $100 a night!
I'd rather be on the beach and have a kitchen to cook breakfast before heading out each morning
edited to add:
I figured - even at the total of $426 - split 4 ways - its still better than a hotel for us because of being able to cook breakfast - relax with a living room - a fridge for beer if we want to keep drinking after the music is over - we don't have to go to a bar or anything and pay bar prices to drink.
Overall - we end up saving money just from that aspect of it.
Plus - the ability to have coffee on the beach in the morning and watch the sun come up - priceless

Yeah the coffee maker and blender are total bonuses as far as I'm concerned. Margaritas at night and coffee in the morning.. ON THE BEACH. Those three little words make everything awesome. haha
And yeah I didn't even really consider how awesome it is going to be just having a full sized refrigerator. No need for costly ice, hauling coolers around, etc.. probably bring a cooler for lounging on the beach though hah. Man I cannot wait.

this is really the only other festival i'd be willing to spend what little money i have on. all good is official now, though, and i still have to get my plane ticket up there, so we'll see. looks like i might be S.O.L. on lodging if i do end up deciding to go to hangout, though. well, convenient lodging anyway.

well...ive done some soul searchin and some penny scroungin...and i came up with a "sleeps 5" condo on the beach .5 miles away....328dollars for all three nights...totally worth it...on the beach no less!!!! oh and thanks for the discount code, saved my 50 bucks worht of penny scroungin!!!!
^^^ LOL it'll be worth it to be on the beach!!! and .5 away is great!!! that's within walking distance to head back mid-afternoon and grab a few beers if needed to save some money - plus you will really appreciate the idea of having the option to actually cook breakfast instead of having to deal with the lines at any of the places to eat

cool poster...Def w/in walkin distance for thos much needed brewskies midday, and a good breakfast/sleep definately played a large part in my decision. also very modestly priced after discount and actual convenience of it all.....upgrade!
also....i'm wonderin when we may see a couple of more bands added to this poster....didn't they claim to have around 60 in total? more headliners?? wishful thinking, i know...this lineuip already rocks, but there are only 36 or so bands on there. 24 or so more bands....
Any ideas about who may be available arount those dates to play in gulf shores?
I know The Uglistick ( www.myspace.com/theuglistick ) is playing at the Pink Pony Pub all 3 nights of the festival.. which is right next to The Hangout
