Oh I'm happy - my tickets came in the mail yesterday - thanks to a nice nice person at Serda's - I have a good place to stay at a reasonable price - good friends going with us - something to look forward to - yes - I am happy!!
Hoping my tickets come today, starting to get the tiniest bit paranoid considering I ordered them on Saturday... I guess it's only been enough time for them to get here today or tomorrow! I've got a regular posse forming for Hangout, ever since I booked that condo EVERYONE wants to go haha. This is a good thing, they can help me pay for the condo, the gas, etc., plus I get the pleasure of their company on a beach in the spring. Sounds magnificent! HAPPY
It's two miles down the road from the festy - it's on the beach - it's only $98 per night and sleeps 6 people
not a bad deal
We were going to stay in Orange Beach with Bamabelle but turns out we have a larger group than originally expected. I found a place just .7 miles from the festy on E. Beach through meyer realty for $83.00 oer night.
If you book through them online - use 10PH for a discount code and get $50 off
thank you so much for this link. We just booked our stay at Beachfront 503.

Oh that's awEsome.
Wolfaroo, you're more than welcome to come over and borrow a cup of sugar if you need to. Or what ever you might need. Oh, and also, did you notice that you have to bring your own toilet paper and garbage bags. At least in my unit you do. Never rented a condo that didn't provide those things.
And I've been checking out some of the bands that are going to be playing and I'm looking forward to Pnuma Trio and Girl Talk so far. Hopefully they'll be kinda late-ish. the performances end at 11... that's kinda early I think.

city fests are almost always required to end around 11 because of city noise ordinances. doesn't mean the party has to stop, though!! i would venture to guess that there are plenty of after-shows, or at least after-parties.
and btw, my tax return looks to be more than i anticipated, so it looks like i'm officially there as soon as the refund comes in!!!!!!!

awesome hippieNaustin! Can't wait to see you there! Actually, I can't wait to see everyone on this board that's going to the Hangout Fest. It'll be awesome to see some familiar faces at my first Bonnaroo. We should all wear matching somethings so that we know someone from inforoo when we see them.
Oh and I would like to add Moon Taxi to my earlier post. Just listened to some of their stuff and that's a show that I'll definitely be catching as well.

haha yeah that's bizarre that you have to bring what even the seediest hotel would offer. Oh well! I'm going to be with a posse of friends from Bloomington, coolest town in the midwest! haha

hmmm... this sounds very interesting to me. Where do you sign up and exactly what do you need to do?

that's what i was thinking....im just gonna go to the local hipster venues, hang posters, spread the good word, that sort of thing. Im also thinking of the double sided life size signboard draped over me at a busy intersection.....perhaps that may draw some attention, and sell some tickets/get me an "official Hangout Cooler", complete with case of beer. I can get my own ice....and limes.

Can't wait to hit the BEACH!
Bloomington eh? I spent many a night in the Bluebird back in the late 90's early 2000's to see a cover band called Pfreak Show.

Wolfaroo has now convinced me to do this fest. Just bought my ticket this am. I am super stoked to be doing this fest. Had Wolfaroo not taken the initiative to get things rolling, I wouldn't have thought to travel to this. Now the 12 hour drive doesn't seem so bad.
pondo, the bluebird still has amazing shows there. Recently Ive seen Dave Rawlings Machine, Cornmeal, and the New Deal. the Join will be here on the 4th. Pretty Lights and Bassnectar played there a few months ago. When school is in session, they usually have one good show a week with a lot of local live music the rest of the week. Where are you located? I thought i read you mention Evansville in another thread.

We've got quite the B-town posse going to this thing now! It started with me buying a ticket for myself and my friend Devon and thinking we were going to camp or stay with Bamabelle, now we've got a condo and almost two carloads of people! It's going to be so fantastic, I absolutely can't wait. My head is going to explode. Amazing how people who normally wouldn't be attracted enough to a festival to spend the time and money on going are suddenly so receptive to the idea when it's on the beach and there are beachside condos involved. haha!
Edit: Oh yeah I signed up for the street crew too :]

ooo I need to try this street team thing as well. That's how insidejoke got her free roo ticket last year. I already street team for traveling bands in town. It's not too hard to hang some fliers.

Here's a tip for everybody that signed up for the street team. I was on the street team for the Echo Project it Atlanta a few years ago and worked enough to get a free ticket. Shimon was in charge of that as well. Shimon will probably send you a lot of posters to hang up. If you have any left take them with you to the actual festival. I did this for Echo Project and went around selling them for $5 a piece. It's a good deal for people, and it adds up quick. I bartered with a vendor for a nice dress for my wife and made like $40.
