the mavs dont have a finals worthy roster. they wouldve lost to the nuggets had they beat the wolves. i know, hindsight. but still. theres no way Derrick Jones should be starting on a finals team and the bench is pretty awful outside of Lively but hes a rookie so cant expect much.

unless Nico Harrison has some tricks up his sleeve, basically all we can afford to do this off-season is attach picks (I pray to god 2nds) to get off THJ’s expiring and sign Derrick Jones to the MLE (which he’s earned imo). This roster may not be finals worthy but we’re gonna have to find a way to run it back with the same guys

Rusillo and Simmons going back and forth about Reed Sheppard like he's some random guy no one's heard of and not the consensus likely #3 pick. Love this stuff. Like anyone who's been on "draft Twitter" since the end of CBB season hasn't seen these numbers.

im sure plenty of their audience isn't on draft twitter

Maybe not, but they themselves sound incredibly out of touch. And plenty of their audience does make fun of them for it constantly. Pretty sure that's most of what the BS subreddit is.

I don’t get why talking about someone’s shooting splits sounds out of touch? Unless you just mean they sound out of touch in general. I think bill is pretty in on the joke and doesn’t take himself that seriously, he’s entertaining and still one of the only good mainstream basketball media people.

Two weeks ago they were talking about how garbage this draft is and now they're talking about prospects in the draft like they've never heard of them before (because they probably legit haven't, and they don't watch college ball. They definitely don't watch Euro or G League). I think that's funny. They're still entertaining and a lot of people still listen to them but I think a lot of their fans that grew up with them have outgrown them. I don't know what's controversial about that, tbh. Most of my friends that still listen to Bill are like "here goes this guy again". People enjoy Chuck, Kenny and Shaq too but they're not the foremost experts on modern pro basketball.

"They do these different percentiles based on these different shot types" is a crazy thing to feel like you have to explain, to me. Like you're discovering it for the first time.
