Shepphard’s my number 1 prospect, seems like he’s a lock to HOU so that value measure will keep compounding imo
Yeah, I hope we do draft him. Ben DuBose (USA Today, 790 AM Houston) thinks if Clingan gets to 3 the Rockets could trade down because he'd be a desirable candidate for a few teams to trade up for. If we could trade down to like 6 and still get Reed that would be best-case, but I also don't really want to risk the Spurs taking him (they could also move up to 2 if they really want him). Hawks strongly signaling they'll take Clingan at 1, anyway. Maybe that's bs but Sarr refuses to work out with them, so it could be real. Only two top-level candidates the Rockets have worked out are Clingan and Reed, but I don't think that would preclude them from taking someone else. Workouts are not as important to them (and I'm guessing all/most teams) as tape.

I'm so confused right now but honestly props to the Nets for getting all that from the Knicks that's WILD. I truly did not think they'd get anything like that with two years left on the deal. God that's so risky to trade across the river.

So they must be moving on from OG, right? Feel like I might rather have OG, but Mikal's deal is locked in for two years, so I guess that's the thinking. And they'll probably be able to keep Ike now.

what I’ve seen is that OG is still top priority, but they might have to give up on ihart and trade Robinson. Did they keep either of their firsts this year? Could draft a Da’Ron Holmes and hope for the best with him and a minimum salary center

I haven't seen specifics of what the Knicks gave up yet, just focused on Rockets/Nets/Suns side. I'm very intrigued though, because the Rockets still hold the Nets 2027 swap, which we could end up dangling for Knicks picks in a year or two.
Here's what I think the Harden trade haul stands at as of now:
Tari Eason Cam Whitmore (E-God was traded*) Reed Sheppard? 2025 swap PHX 2027 pick PHX 2027 swap BKN PHX/DAL/HOU 2029 (top two of three) PHX/DAL/HOU 2029 (top two of three)
I thought last nights trade was pretty bad for the rockets until I realized they got the best 2 of the 2029 three which is a really nice piece of business. both the Mavs and Suns have some really disastrously downside cases in those years.
Draft is gonna be such chaos lol. O/U 2.5 trades in the top 10? KD to get moved? Bronny to the Celtics at 54? Is there a single all star in this draft class at all?
SAS and Windhorst seem to think a KD trade is actually pretty likely/possible lol Windhorst floated picks + sengun for KD and then drafting Clingan. Warriors also apparently want PG13. NBA offseason is too good
knicks fucked up the trade market with this sever overpay for a role player
think what happened here is that this specific salary slot that Bridges held has an insanely large value in the current CBA environment where you need to completely assemble your team before you go past the 2nd apron. With this deal plus the next year or so before the remainder of the extensions hit, they can do a number of things that the vast majority of the contenders cant due to them being above the 2nd apron
as a point of reference to the above, look at what the optimistic scenarios fans of teams like the Nuggets are cooking up for their team and how hollow the benches of these 2nd apron teams become:

we're fucked by the second apron if we're able to resign kcp, but the scenario Blackburn posted there would be insanely good for us I think.
