For some reason the wording has me thinking of the book Cecily G and the Nine Monkeys. It was the first book with Curious George in it. I don't really recall the story, or how much info or names were given for the monkeys, but maybe someone else does...
OH....very interesting. I had been thinking Curious George wouldn't fit with the group of monkeys idea I'm stuck on, but if there were nine monkeys and then George was the one who really took off and got his own series of books, I could see him being the one monkey who was the warmest.
So if George is the warmest, then how about a musician (or any person) named George that has offspring playing music. First thought is George Harrison, who's offspring Dhani, plays in thenewno2. Just thinking out loud...

They replayed the clue and we definitely have the wording right, with the possible exception of it being "warmest in his offspring" which doesn't make any sense so I am pretty sure it is "and his offspring".

I'd love it if it meant thenewno2, they're very much on my Bonnaroo wishlist! I think that's a possibility, although that wouldn't really be the warmest monkey AND his offspring....it would just be his offspring.

Here's a thought: Kid Koala. I realize koalas are bears not monkeys but he is a member of the Gorillaz, and the Kid part definitely fits the offspring criteria.

Been thinking about the Arctic Monkeys - since arctic definitely ain't warm, maybe the warmest monkey would be the one who left the group - Andy Nicholson. He's now in Mongrel, a supergroup of sorts - any chance the clue refers to them?

Found a useful link relating to real life people who have contributed to Gorillaz music. Can't say which one I would declare as the "warmest" but maybe you guys have some ideas concerning it...

It literally means monkey and it’s the character on the Aztec calendar that means dance, fire, passion, and it was the birth sign of the original drummer and he told us the name and when we found out what it meant and we liked it and kinda made sense. It just seemed like something that made sense for us as what our energy was about and the differences that we have. It was cool.

Hmm, I'm with 0rly, the warmest monkey part makes sense but I don't know about the offspring. I would love to see ozo on the farm though, I hated missing 08 when they were there!

One of their "Offspring" was Chali 2NA... Who was part of Jurassic 5...
If J5 has a reunion at Roo, that would kill! Also, Tre Hardson was also part of Jurassic 5, and a member of The Pharcyde. The Pharcyde could have an appearance at Roo.

so it could just be ozomatli featuring chali 2na. that's how they got billed at a few festivals but never at roo, even though both have been there. i bet that's it.

i love this. i wish i was better at figuring these out. i cant help but think that some people would have an easier time figuring out these clues if they ignored everyone elses ideas and focused solely on the wording of the clue

no, he never confirms anything. sometimes he will deny things.

He can't officially confirm anything, but he watches the boards so he can point us in the right direction if need be. And he has occasionally let us know that we can leave a certain clue alone, or let us know that one of the possibilities we've mentioned is correct.
