Ray Davies was born June 21st, summer solstice, start of summer; longest day in the northern hemisphere. (He's also named "Ray.") This is the day spring is turned off. The Kinks have a hit, "Apeman."
and then it gets better when you realize who the traveling wilburys are
Traveling Wilburys were a late 1980s supergroup consisting of George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison, Tom Petty and Bob Dylan.[1] The band recorded two albums during the two years they were together. "Wilburys" was a slang term coined by Harrison and Lynne during the recording of Cloud Nine as a pet name for various types of equipment in the recording studio; Harrison, referring to errors caused by malfunctioning equipment, jokingly remarked to Lynne: "We'll bury 'em in the mix".[1][2] The term was used again when the entire group was together. Harrison suggested "The Trembling Wilburys" as the group's name; instead, Lynne suggested "Traveling", which was agreed on by the group.[1] The American spelling of "Traveling" rather than the British spelling "Travelling" was used because the band started in the US and consisted of three Americans and only two Britons.
What about George Harrison sons band thenewno2. It would kind of work better because Dhani played with the Trembling Wilburys in 2007
He's talking about natural selection. The warmest monkey is the one who was most likely to survive and therefore reproduce. That monkey and his offspring are what formed all the generations of humans. Small band, I know, but I doubt the first clue would be anything major ie. I doubt they'd hint at headliners right away.
"DjjD is now out of travel mode and into Kloo Mood"
If this tweet is a new clue, then it might be Alberta Cross. K and M are capitalized. K = 1000. M = 1,000,000. M = K x K ,K2 (squared). K2 is a mountain in Alberta (not the famous K2); Alberta Cross. Don't know whether to start a new thread?

Next clue please.
This mofo cracks me up. First the Radiohead headlining thread, then this. Keep up the good work.

makes sense, but im not sure it is a clue
Yeah, but the capitalization caught my eye. If it's just something he does with no real meaning, then it's a measure of how loose we can be with interpretation. He does use "oo" quite often. Goose eggs? Maybe we haven't got clue no.1 correct.

that is an interesting way to look at it... maybe you're onto something

In any case, last time I checked K2 was in Pakistan...
"DjjD is now out of travel mode and into Kloo Mood"
Easy.
"Kloo" rhymes with both "U" and "2". U2 also once did a tour called "Zoo TV'. "Zoo" = "Kloo". U2 also has a song called "Vertigo" which quite prominently features the letter "o" in it's title. The letter "o" is also featured quite heavily in DJJD's latest clue. Also, let us not forget that the letter "L" which is in the word "KLoo" looks like an angle at 90 degrees, signifying an edge. The Edge is a member of the band U2.
For these reasons I believe Metallica will be playing this year.

There's another K2 (not the famous one) in Alberta.

I wonder if he meant to type Kloo MODE instead of Kloo Mood. If so, you can easily re-arrange the letters to get Kool Moe D(ee). According to Wiki, he was supposed to release an album last October, but there's no record of it anywhere. Maybe he'll be releasing it in 2010 and doing a couple shows.
