WOO, for once I managed to post something quickly enough to not be redundant! Hahaha.
Another thought: Micky's first child was his daughter Ami Bluebell. Between the somewhat noteworthy name, the fact that she was born in 1969 while the Monkees were still very relevant, and the fact that she actually made a bit of a name for herself as an actress (and some other stuff, I think...producing, maybe?) she's probably more well known than most of the Monkees' kids. So, can anyone get anywhere from Ami Bluebell?

Witchboard 2: The Devil's Doorway is a 1993 American horror film directed by Kevin S. Tenney and starring Ami Dolenz.

I'm still on this Jay Z thing
Ami = Jay Z feat Amil - "Can I Get A"
Bluebell = Blueprint 1 & 2
You can get Jay-Z even more simply from the other part of Pepper's Monkee's post, too: "Nesmith's got 4 kids and three of their names start with J - so maybe something about jays? " Jays> Jayz >Jay-Z
And the more I think about it, the more it fits the ckue well. Michael Nesmith is the warmest monkey, and his offsping are Jays(z). Jay-Z it is. I hope. Monkeys are starting to freak me out. I don't want to have to think about them anymore!
Without having read this monster thread, I'm contributing Eli Young Band. I sort of think that's too country, but whatever. Having come to some conclusion will now help me sleep tonight.
Pixies lock as the answer going back to the monkey theme and from earlier posts saying man is 5 devil is 6 god is 7 and the warmest monkey being in hell with the new clue the pixies have a song on thier doolittle album that the lyrics go "lalalalove you" i cement this clue as official pixies everyone get a copy of their doolittle album and blast it then come back and lets chat about the next band and i write run on sentences like a motherfucker!!!!!!!!

I'd love it to be the Pixies, but DJJD said Pepper was the closest. The Pixies were mentioned early in the thread, but not by Pepper. It can't be the Pixies.

Pepper was the "closest" .... That means the band wasn't mentioned. Pepper said other things speculating the meaning, too.

Yes, but the first person to say the Pixies was like the third post on the first page of this thread - they were mentioned and he would have read that before even getting to the first of Pepper's posts. Had the Pixies been correct, I would think he wouldn't have called Pepper the closest, he would have called the person who actually posted the Pixies correct.

I was thinking the same thing, threebboyz. Here's Pepper's post:
"I like the idea of it relating to the Monkees, so I was curious about who would be the warmest. The only thing that came to mind is where they're from geographically, and the warmest would either be Michael Nesmith from Texas or Micky Dolenz from LA (does anyone know which place would be warmer?). According to wikipedia, Nesmith's got 4 kids and three of their names start with J - so maybe something about jays? Probably a total stretch but I figured I'd throw it out there in case any part of that makes anyone think of something else. "
There are a few ideas in there. One, that the clue has to do with the monkees. Two, that warmest refers to geographical location. And three, that it has to do with jays. I think one of these approaches may be the direction to go.
The only thing I can get out of it is the Jayhawks. I don't know what hawks has to do with it, though.
Here's a thought... I just went to Mike Nesmith's Wiki page to look up his fourth offspring. There are three J names - Jonathon, Jason & Jessica. The fourth, although firstborn, child is named Christian.
Yeah, I was doing the Wiki research in another tab while you were posting that. My original hunch was that the fourth child's name would start with E, but a C name leads to the same phonetic conclusion.
I can't turn my back without this thread growing at least another two pages...
I regret not compiling my guesses before the lineup announcement last year, so I've added it to my sig as well. I like the logic of this clue pointing to Jay-Z more than I like it pointing to George Jones or anyone else.
So I guess (assuming this is correct) that it doesn't really matter if Jay-Z is currently scheduled for Isle of Wight festival in the UK on Friday, June 11th?
My major issue with the Jay-Z logic is the clue reads "monkey + offspring" not "monkey's offspring". Mike Nesmith's name would have to work in to the answer too.
I beg to differ. I think it's possible that this clue is split into seperate tasks. Part one would be figuring out the warmest monkey, part two his offspring.
If you don't think that's the case, any ideas what Pepper said otherwise that would make her closest?

Does Michael Nesmith have a new movie coming out?Why would he be at a major festival?How did Jay Z come up from monkey and offspring?I'm to tired to read all the previous posts.
I'm saying that I think figuring out the warmest monkey might be a sub-clue that needed to be solved before the second half of the clue. Like an algebra equation where you have to do the part in parentheses first before you can get anywhere else.
That being such... the sub-clue would be finding the warmest monkey, and the actual hint would be found by investigating warmest monkey's offspring. I don't think the actual subject of the clue necessarily has to have a name fitting into "(Warmest Monkey) and (his offspring)."
Our problem may have been that everyone's gut reaction about the warmest Monkee seemed to be Davy Jones... Davy Jones would point to David Bowie, but that couldn't have been right because it came before the re-airing of the first clue and pointing us in Pepper's direction. I think the mention of Pepper was steering us back to where we made a wrong turn at the Monkees fork in the road.

lol if you could view my google history from back when I originally posted that, you'd see all these searches for things like "Mike and the Jays"
Also, since people are now speculating on Christian Nesmith tying into the clue, I'll mention that as the oldest he would be more well-known too. I'm pretty sure he was already born when the Monkees' show first started.
When I mentioned the clue to my mom a couple days ago I mentioned my Monkees thoughts, including the Js. She was the one who mentioned Ami Bluebell Dolenz to me, and when I mentioned that 3 out of Nesmith's kids had J names she actually knew that the first one was Christian.
So basically, since Christian was already born when the Monkees started doin' their thing, probably a lot of people knew his name. The other 3 kids, I'm not so sure about, although if you were a big Monkees fan I'm sure you'd know 'em.
I seem to have made this comment enormous as is my usual style, but I'm mostly just thinking about the likelihood of DJ JD coming up with this as a clue for Jay-Z. I think it's a bit of a stretch, but honestly pretty much everything seems like a stretch to me and I should probably learn to keep my mouth shut and stop saying that.

Yeah,I'm trying to think of some famous monkey character names then connect them to something hot.No Luck.Maybe it's Ice Cube.He was part of Da Lynch Mob - "Guerillas In Tha Mist".Sike.More realistic than Davey Jones though.
You really want to stretch things? Let's somehow work Liquid Paper into this
It's been on my mind since page 1, actually.
Edit: Eek, and I just noticed that I got smited sometime in the past couple hours. (Or...whatever it's called now that it isn't smiting...) idk if it was for something in this thread or somewhere else, but I'm sorry to whoever I offended or annoyed or whatever!
