Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I am beginning to think you can connect ANYTHING if you try hard enough....
Just read that Michael Nesmith was invited to the orchestral recording sessiong for "Day In The Life" by John Lennon.
Beatles, Monkees...forvever intertwined, it seems.....(BTW, as a Monkees junkie, an interesting side note is that you can see a Monkees "response" to many Beatles songs. Beatles had Taxman, Monkees had "Salesman". Beatles had "I Am The Walrus", Monkees had "Porpoise Song"...etc etc etc)
Also, Mike Nesmith hosts live concerts on his Videoranch site. He just had James McMurtry and the Heartless Love Children last week, and artists like Slaid Cleves in the past...(Note that I typed Heartless "someone born out of wedlock", but the editor replaced it with Love Children)...
Jay-Z was definitely wrong even before the clues. He's playing Isle of Wright during the Bonnaroo dates and Coachella already has him. You know how the saying goes: take a touring classic rock band, Coachella's headliner from three years ago, and Widespread Panic, and you have Bonnaroo's headliners. So, we'll see Jay-Z in about 3 years if he's still touring.

I'm starting to think that if Michael Nesmith was the warmest Monkee, either because of being from Texas or that he always wore that hat, the offspring part may just mean Michael+offspring (son)= Michaelson. Maybe that's the last name of the musician. Ingrid Michaelson?

wow, that makes a lot of sense. the most sense actually. i think you've solved clue 1.
Clue #1: The one monkey that was the warmest and his offspring
DJ JD Post: I will have to investigate the B'roo twitter myself- not sure what they are up to. I'll bribe them tomorrow with green tea before they are awake and conscious- then tame their monkey mind!
DJ JD Tweet: Didn't read all 17 pages yet- but PP seems to closest.
DJ JD Post: but for now, the second soldier is lined up in the plane and getting ready to be pushed out.... I see at least 8 soldiers behind him.
DJ JD Tweet: Kloos are lining up like little soldiers in the airplane going over Normandy the night before D-Day. click clickclick
DJ JD Tweet: Jay Z is DEFINITELY on the wrong track on the 1st clue to Clarksville.
DJ JD Tweet: Soldiers lined up and ready to jump- some are dummy poppen, but most are real. CLICK click click

If were are to analyze this with historical significance in relation to WWII wouldn't this make the first clue a red herring? The first parachutes into France were the dummies. After that they were real people. Right? Maybe?

Makes sense, but why would DJJD seemingly be telling us that Jay-Z is wrong, and PP was closest?
Can't remember, did PP ever suggest the clue was a red herring?

Go with me on this...the moments being described are part of the INVASION.
by giving ref to the dummies being dropped he is leading to the British Invasion.

"My major issue with the Jay-Z logic is the clue reads "monkey + offspring" not "monkey's offspring". Mike Nesmith's name would have to work in to the answer too."
um according to mike nesmith's webpage, be abbreviates his last name as neZ. note the Z --> Jay-Z
