The additions are here. Some pretty solid names (Drive By Truckers, Ghostland Observatory, Passion Pit, Grizzly Bear Jackie Greene, Jakob Dylan, Toubab Krewe, Mark Karan) plus a lot of bands i've read about on here (Nate Wilson Group, Heavy Pets, McLovins, Lettuce).
Late Nights so far are going to be EOTO, Lettuce, Big Gigantic and not sure who else will get one yet.
Here's the full lineup:
Furthur with Phil Lesh & Bob Weir The Flaming Lips Moe. Derek Trucks & Susan Tedeschi Band Sound Tribe Sector 9 She & Him Passion Pit Grizzly Bear Ghostland Observatory Drive By Truckers George Clinton & P-Funk Umphreys McGee Jackie Greene Zappa Plays Zappa Jacob Dylan & Three Legs Keller Williams Lotus Max Creek John Browns Body Felice Brothers Ryan Montbleau Band Moonalice Mark Karan's Jemimah Puddleduck Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad Greensky Bluegrass Rustic Overtones Lettuce Gypsy Tailwind EOTO Big Gigantic The Brew The Constellations Toubab Krewe The Heavy Pets Nephrock! Aaaah man. That lineup is fantastic! I really want to do this, and it's just a two hour drive up I-95 for me, and I have several friends who are going... I'm not sure if I'll be able to, but I'm definitely going to try to do this.

tickets go up like $30 on Friday May 7th. They're giving people time to decide if they want to go and still purchase discounted tickets. so get them before then if you want them cheaper.
Ghostland Observatory will bring it as usual....
this is true. supposedly they will be playing before moe.'s headlining set. Umphrey's was rumored for that slot but they have to travel that night so they'll be playing earlier in the day (sadly). but the good news is that Ghostland is supposed to be bringing their light show/setup.
Awesome, awesome lineup. If I had seen Broken Social Scene I probably would have slit my wrists since I can't make this fest, but I know everyone that's going is gonna have a great time. Lettuce late night! So jealous- I missed their late night set at Vibes last year because this douche we were with got kicked out and the group stayed until he snuck back in and I felt like a sketch peacing on all of them. Regrettable- didn't know he was basically a terrible person until well after Vibes was over. Would have made that Lettuce show if I had known.

The following is from official Nateva representatives:
Furthur is our festival headliner and they get 4 hours and however many sets they want. For more details you will need to join us at the festival. See you in Maine.
I'm assuming Flips and moe. will have less time since there will be late night sets after them. I think these sets will be like 2 hours (maybe a little more. Not sure really.
Post by Bury Me With It on May 16, 2010 20:00:49 GMT -5
well assuming the preheadliners are starting at sunset (sts9 confirmed sunset anyway) that leaves 3.5 hrs of time for both the preheadliners and headliners including the swap time/break assuming they end at midnight which is very possible.
that's kinda weak imo - if it wasn't for the wonky late-night restrictions I'd be heading to Maine for sure, but as it stands I may end up at bonnaroo...
Wow. Awesome schedule, makes me even more disappointed I'll be missing this than before. Are a couple of acts missing, though? Where's She and Him on there?
Ooops, way to be blind! I see it now. Only 45 minutes for Toubab? Hope for everyone's sake they go long.

Juggs, I saw that and alerted Nateva to it on a facebook message. Myself and Mojo4395 run the Nateva message board and have had some contact with them.
They said it's not an issue for Nateva and will blow over. I said that there would be some chaos on Facebook and they said it shouldn't be a problem, not worth a response. A handful of people complained and so they finally responded with:
The reporter has totally messed up her facts and there is simply no truth to the notion that we can't use the hill. This is the second article that she has written that uses Nateva as the headline and has nothing to do with Nateva. The Fairgrounds is applying for some sort of building permit and that was what this was all about. We are a renter of the land. We have the appropriate permits from the town of Oxford, Norway and The State of Maine. We have spoken with Norway's Chief of Police and Town Manager and both agree that this has nothing to do with Nateva. Sorry you believe everything you read in the paper. Can we go back to dealing with our website which has crashed and continue planning the festival, or should we discuss this in more detail?
I've been assured that it's not a problem. Of course.....if I've been lied to and the whole festival is a clusterfuck, then I'll be sure to report it here afterwards.

I'm going to put it out there - that's the douchiest response I could think of. "Sorry you believe everything you read in the paper?" "Can we go back to dealing with our website which has crashed?"
If Bonnaroo ever replied to anybody's concerns like that, these boards would explode with comments about how Bonnaroo doesn't care about their fans and whatnot.
I'm not going to Nateva, but I was interested to see how it goes seeing as it's not that far from me, and maybe I'll hit it in year 2. So far I'm not impressed with them.
Please let us all know how it goes.
Totally understand you. Some people got annoyed with their response. But keep in mind that this response was after a few other responses of them telling everyone to calm down and that it wasn't an issue to worry about. Then people started accusing Nateva of this and that and you could tell that it was getting stressful for whoever wrote that message. They've said that it's not the first article from that writer to try and stir up sh!t for Nateva.
Nateva has been really open and interactive with the audience and customers from the beginning.....and there definitely have been some bumps along the way.........but I just chalked that up to one guy stressed out because of all the problems they just had in one day (the article and probably a lot of calls, emails, and messages about it as well as having their website crash only two weeks before the festival).
I'll have a full report. I don't expect it to be a bad festival......but I'll be totally honest about it when I get back.

Oh also.....for some reason I left this part of their response out:
Sorry to be so harsh, but we've always been straight up with people and to have people screaming in capital letters about spending money for nothing because of one local article is absurd.
that came right after: Can we go back to dealing with our website which has crashed and continue planning the festival, or should we discuss this in more detail?
hopefully that makes it less "douchey" lol.
one of the main things that has me worried about this festival is getting in/camping. since it's the first year i'm sure there will be plenty of waiting and traffic problems.

Here's more info on the matter. From Frank Chandler (man who created the fest).....on the Nateva facebook page:
On behalf of the Nateva Team, I'd like to take a moment or two to discuss the article written by Leslie Dixon of the Lewiston Sun Journal yesterday. Bluntly put, it is our position that it is inaccurate, misleading, poorly researched and simply irresponsible reporting. The Oxford Fairgrounds, which is roughly 85% in the town of Oxford and 15% in the town of Norway, is looking for a permit to put a storm water drainage system on a hill in Norway. The hill is a piece of land that was recently cleared and is being considered for development for sometime in the future. It was determined by the Norway Planning Board that the area may not be suitable for long term development and it was decided to table the application for the storm water permit for the time being, to be revisited later. Nateva is a tenant of the Fairground and we have nothing to do with this application process, nor do we have any real interest in the outcome.
If Miss Dixon had spoken with the Norway Town Manager, or the Norway Chief of Police, she would have heard from them what I heard today, when I spoke with both of them individually, which to paraphrase was something along the lines of 'Nateva has the appropriate licenses from the State of Maine and the Town of Norway to hold their event and use all of the land that they have leased'. I hope that Miss Dixon takes the time to have the same conversations with the same people, and steps up to correct this situation as it is causing a great deal of anxiety for our customers, at a really busy time for us. We have worked hard to always do the right thing for our customers. We have also tried hard to do the right thing regarding the towns of Oxford and Norway, the neighbors around the venue, as well as the musicians and bands that are part of the Nateva Community.
I hope the Sun Journal does the right thing by doing a little research and getting the facts out there. An apology would be nice too. We are two weeks from the Inaugural Nateva Festival and I'd like to encourage you all to take advantage of the $89 Day Tickets that are now being offered for all 3 days, along with the free camping and shuttle service from the Oxford Speedway, 3 miles down the road from the venue. It's going to be an extraordinary weekend in Maine and all of us at Nateva hope you can join us for all or a part of the celebration. Hope to see you on the Norway hill in 2 weeks.
From a new article entitled: Nateva: Mud is not a problem - this article comes from the same Sun Journal that wrote the first story that got everyone so worried. This clears things up a bit.
Nateva: Mud is not a problem By Leslie H. Dixon/Staff Writer Jun 18, 2010 12:00 am
NORWAY – The president of the Nateva Music and Camping Festival said Thursday that the three-day concert expected to attract 15,000 people from around the world will not be compromised by the shutdown of a 15-acre hillside at the Oxford Fairgrounds.
“I have camping with or without the hillside,” Frank Chandler said. “If we don't get that hill, we will not use that hill.”
Construction work on the hillside at the Pottle Road fairgrounds, which Nateva leased several months ago to use for the July 2-4 festival, may be too unstable for use because of erosion problems, officials said earlier this week.
The hillside overlooks the racetrack, where well-known bands such as Further, Jakob Dylan, Zappa Plays Zappa, Flaming Lips and George Clinton will perform. In all, nearly 50 bands will play on four stages, according to the festival website.
State and local officials allege the stability of the hillside, which has been leased by Chandler for “low-impact” use during the festival, has been compromised by work the fairground owners — the 18-member Oxford County Agricultural Society — have been doing to clear the area.
Michael Mullen of the Maine Department of Environmental Protection said the agency intends to pursue enforcement action against the landowners for environmental issues, including violation of the storm-water management law.
Local Planning Board Chairman Dennis Gray has halted review of the agricultural society's request for a change in land use until it presents a stabilization plan for the hillside, which he called “a muddy mess,” and an “ecological disaster waiting to happen.”
“In my world, it's an outrageous situation,” said Chandler, who had hoped to use the hillside for low-impact activities, such as walking or sitting to watch the concert, and extra room for campsites if it was needed.
While Chandler said the issue of leasing allegedly unusable land may become a legal issue for him, it will have no effect on the festival because organizers did their planning for campsites without the hillside. Chandler said everyone who has a ticket for on-site camping is assured an on-site campsite and that the hill did not factor into those ticketed sites.
“Until they started clearing (the hillside), it was not even a part of the plan,” Chandler said.
He said sometime last winter he became aware of negotiations between another show promoter and the Oxford County Agricultural Society members, and work that being done in that area for that deal. When the new land suddenly became available, Chandler said he saw “a great space” that could be used for the Nateva festival.
He thought at the time, “If you can grow grass, it would be a nice place to hang out," he said. "It's a big, open space.”
Chandler and the society members came to an undisclosed agreement to lease the hillside.
DEP: Site is in violation
Lance Bean of the Oxford County Agricultural Society said in an e-mail Thursday that McGee Construction, which was hired to do the clearing, and the society were “operating under the assumption that they were exempt” from the permitting process.
Bean said once it was discovered that a permit was needed, immediate action was taken with DEP to remedy the problem.
Bean said DEP has approved the remedial plan and permits are ready to be issued. “The only thing holding up the process is money,” Bean said. “The additional costs to the nonprofit are very significant and were not budgeted.”
However, the DEP contends that despite many weeks of trying to get the society members to file an application for a proper permit, they have seen nothing.
“The site is in violation,” said Colin Clark, DEP enforcement specialist, who has been to the site on Pottle Road off Route 26 numerous times.
Clark said the society has not applied for a permit, despite repeated requests from the DEP.
According to Clark, the work done at the site included 15,000 square feet of wetland disturbance, where the wetland was “dug up and isn't there anymore,” and 52,000 square feet of tree removal and earth-moving.
Clark said the hillside grade has been compromised by work to remove stumps and then refill the holes.
“There is a large area of disturbance,” he said, describing it as “the hillside being pushed around.”
“They got a lot ahead of themselves,” Clark said. “Now they've got themselves into trouble.”
Mullen of the DEP said the department is alleging that the landowner violated the storm-water management law, the Natural Resources Protection Act by filling a freshwater wetland, and the erosion and sedimentation control law. They also discharged soil, “causing top soil to run off into a nearby stream,” he said.
“We're pursuing all this stuff and trying to get more facts about various aspects of the development before we pursue with enforcement action,” Mullen said.
If the landowner is cited for the violations, it could face financial penalties. Clark said it was unclear what the penalty might be. It would depend in part on whether the group shows a “good-faith effort” by applying for the permits sooner rather than later.
Although the DEP does not have “stop work” authority, it “strongly” suggested to the contractor and landowners last month that they remedy the problem before the land is used for an event.
The land is owned by the nonprofit Oxford County Agricultural Society and not Black Bear Realty LLC as previously believed by local officials. Norway Town Assessor Jodi Keniston said Thursday that she made a mistake and has since fixed the ownership issue. Black Bear Realty LLC owns the racetrack and about an acre of abutting land in Norway, Keniston said.
Chandler said that regardless of the problems encountered by the fairgrounds association, he intends to put on a “first-class experience” for ticket holders. Weekend passes with on-site camping have sold out, but there will be free camping at a number of other sites the festival has secured.
There will be four or five camping sites on the Oxford Fairgrounds, free campsites and shuttle service at the nearby Oxford Plains Speedway on Route 26 and a 12- to 13-acre parcel owned by the town of Oxford adjacent to the fairgrounds that can be used for campsites, Chandler said.
The fairgrounds covers 100 acres, according to the society's website, www.oxfordcountyfair.com. Most of it is in Oxford.

I snagged a press pass for this one; pumped to check it out! I tend to skip the jam bands at Roo, so being forced to actually catch shows by Further, moe. etc could be educational.
Any plans for an Inforoo meetup? I haven't caught up on the whole thread, but it seems like a few of us going.
