I'll probably catch Weezer. I've only heard what was on the radio and I have no idea what they've been doing in the last ten years. I liked a few of their songs and Hashpipe was, and still is, a turn it up song.
Oh and I LOVED the way they released the lineup. One by one all day long. Hope they do that from now on. For me it did exactly what it was intended to do. Give us time to get to know a little about each band. I know that I was punching a new bands name into Wiki every six minutes on Tuesday Feb 9th.
Yeah I liked doing that too until that many hours of build up ended with "stevie wonder," who had been confirmed around the 3rd or 4th hour of the whole ordeal by a large magazine's Web site (don't remember which)

So has anyone actually heard any rumors on additions? I was looking through this thread and I just found a bunch of bitching and whining about the lineup... I was looking for something more along the lines of what this thread was intended for. Should I be looking on a different thread? Perhaps one of the piss & moan fest threads?
I'm excited for Roo this year. I personally feel that my $220 was well spent and I just want to know what else is in store. Part of this whole experience is discovering new bands. I bet most of you would find a band that will tug at your musical heart strings if you only took the time to listen...

There is literally no news, so we're just going to hang out and discuss the lineup until there is some news. You'll know when something happens.
And I find it funny you think that the people who are "bitching and whining" about the festival haven't researched enough bands.

We all love Stevie, but he should have been announced earlier in the day, we already knew about him. I think we were all waiting on Neil or Roger for the last name.

Look, I don't think some of you understand what we are upset about. It's not the undercard. The undercard is pretty cool, and even includes a once-in-a-lifetime show of Chromeo with Daryl Hall. To me, that's one of the biggest attractions Bonnaroo has ever had. The undercard doesn't need any "searching". We're happy with it. Take a look at the top of the bill. THAT is what all of this bitching is about. Tenacious D is the #5 billed band. Weezer is the #6 billed band. That is overwhelmingly weak, and is downright ridiculous. If they want to book Weezer, fine, but don't give them #6 billing. Undercard is important, but so is the big guns. And apart from a Jay-Z latenight, we don't really have any big guns at all this year. Just trying to help you understand what everyone is really upset over.
You guys win. The line up sucks. Its fuckin horrible. Anyone with any sense and any musical knowledge what so ever shouldn't go. Its a waste of money. A waste of time. And what's more a waste of space.
Sell your tickets. Hurt em where it counts. In the piggy bank.

Ok, here's one for the internet research wizards...
If we are ranking the lineup in the fashion stated above, where Tenacious D is #5, Weezer #6, etc. What is the highest rank that a band has been that was NOT announced in the intial lineup announcement of the previous Roo lineups?
I apologize if this doesn't make perfect sense, but it is my day off...the mind is a little cloudy...
11/2/19: Tool 5/17/19: Blues Traveler 5/9/19: Tool 11/10/18: Tenacious D 9/20/18: White Denim 7/23/18: Radiohead 6/4/18: Jack White 5/20/18: Tool 5/18/18: A Perfect Circle 5/18/18: Alice in Chains 5/6/18: Blind Melon

4th. But that was in '08 when ABB had to cancel and we got WSP. So that's not really "the norm." Last year Public Enemy was the top addition and they landed at #19 on the lineup.

Oysterhead was an addition in 2006. They are #6 on that lineup.

can't wait for those additions!!! ;D
...and if it's the concensus that the main thing people are upset about is the headliners, I say fuck KOL, but on the other hand, I was way more disappointed with Metallica and Pearl Jam than I am with Stevie Wonder and DMB....
I realize those adds are highly unlikely, but that was a hell of a tease. Add Wilco and MMJ and I buy a ticket immediately. I was practically reaching for my credit card.
