Well, if you go by the "have to be on a good team" rule, probably Adrian Gonzalez from the AL. Otherwise it has to be Jose Bautista at this point. He's definitely slowing down but still.
Jose Reyes has been a stud, but it's probably be either Prince or Votto at this point for the NL.
The Mets are .500 right now and their lineup last night was
Reyes Ruben Tejada Beltran Daniel Murphy Angel Pagan Jason Bay's corpse Lucas Duda Josh Thole Dillon Gee
That team has zero business being .500 considering their two biggest bats have been out a month and they're starting 2/3 of a Triple A team.
Prince has Braun, and vice-versa so I don't think either guy wins it.
Joey Votto isn't the MVP of his own team (Jay Bruce is), so I don't think he's in the convo yet. It's still June so he's got plenty of time to catch up, though.
i was hoping to be 6 up on the braves after last night.
thanks muts!!
way to balk it in.
Yeah I was thrilled. I'm going to the game tonight, and will undoubtedly be tossed for the 12th straight time once K-Rod comes out of his hole to throw some tosses. He is by far the most hated Met player. Actually, he's the only one, really.
When you said big interleague series coming up I just figured you meant the only one between two first place teams.
brewers/spankees should be a decent series also.
what's going on in the nl central anyways??
is milwaukee really that good, or are st louis and cincy just in a slump??
From fangraphs latest Power Rankings:
It was expected that Milwaukee’s pitching troika would dominate the competition this season. Not included in that group was Chris Narveson, but he has been just as good, as his 3.38 xFIP is near-identical to the 3.34 mark for Shaun Marcum and 3.37 for Yovani Gallardo.
Their pitching has been very good, and Fielder/Braun/Weeks have all been studs. On the flipside, McGehee and Betancourt have been laughably bad and are costing them considering several players in AAA are doing very well.
And the Giants are about a season away from mediocrity, I'll stick with Sexy Rexy.
The Giants are always one game away from mediocrity. I've been rooting for them all my life so I know of what I speak. But They do have three rings now and that's something I never thought I'd say. And I'm not one of those Giants fans that hates on the Jets. I pay alot more attention to the Cowboys, Eagles and Redskins. I really never think about the Jets but I do like Rex. He's a hot shit.

Apparently the Brew Crew needs to play at home the rest of the year.
Funny you say that, as is mind-boggling to me how many people freak out about their road record. First place is first place. They're not going to play .375 on the road all year, just like they're not going to be .750 at home all year. That shit evens out.

I know what you mean. It's more important as to how hot you are when you're playing certain teams. If you're hot when you're playing teams that might beat you out of a playoff spot, it's a big deal. If you're sucking wind when you play your rivals it's really bad. But a home/away gap like that might indicate a psychological weakness.
'Jose Reyes finished June with 45 hits, 29 runs scored, seven triples and 11 stolen bases in 26 games.
According to the Elias Sports Bureau, no other major-league player had reached all four of those levels in one month since July, 1912 when Ty Cobb accumulated 68 hits, 33 runs, eight triples and 15 steals in 30 games.'
Well, they are lovable Mutts. I don't hate them. That's reserved for the Bosux.
At least this team personifies the term "underdog". You don't root against them, because it's like rooting against the kid in little league who is half the size of everyone else, is forced to wear a helmet 3 sizes too big and is (for some reason) always a filthy sloppy mess.
Hey, at least the Sox aren't forcing an excruciatingly awkward media blitz on the world while The Most Overrated Player Alive stumbles through his Bataan Death March towards 3,000 hits. If the Yankees had any balls they would have let him go during those ridiculous contract negotiations, instead we have to suffer through this shit.
No, you're right Juggs. The Sox fans are doing what they do best. Watching to see what the Yankees are doing. They are the only fans who hate another team more than they love their own.

I started a Yankees suck chant during Jay-Z last year.
EDIT: While Yankee hating is a part of Red Sox fandom, I still focus my attention to liking Boston more than hating on NY. It's like a 70/30 split.
