"Shohei Ohtani passes Babe Ruth to set record for most pitching strikeouts by a player with 100 home runs as the Angels fall to the Houston Astros 1-3"

I need to get up to Anaheim well before the trade deadline to see Shohei, I won't be able to stomach seeing him play in person if he goes to the Dodgers lol.

Kinda glad the Rays raced out ahead of us in a way, I think it's erased any real pressure. Quietly the second best record in the game. Granted, Angelos in an offseason interview ALREADY is making excuses about paying our young studs (Rutschman in particular) who aren't even free agents until like 2029. The A's situation is bad, but Angelos and his kids have been sucking the life out Orioles fans like like 30 years.

That's unfortunate. The O's have some good young players and a fantastic stadium. Just imagine what they could have done if someone more competent was in charge.

Anyone been to Oakland for a game in recent memory? Panicking and considering a quick turnaround trip to knock it off my ballpark chase. I thought we had another season locked in, but I'm seeing murmurs about playing at a minor league park in Vegas.
Where's a good spot for an overnight stay? Is the area surrounding the ballpark cool, or will we need to commute in?

yeah I can't imagine they do another full season in Oakland, you might not even have to pay just walk in. 2,000 people showed up to sit in 56,000 seats the other day. Absolutely brutal.

Will definitely be buying aftermarket to take some off the hands of burned fans. I know what it's like to have absolute shit ownership, unfortunately (*cough* dean spanos)!

I never went to a game in Oakland. I flew into Oakland in 2017 going to SF. The coliseum is on a train line which goes to SF. I know the old arena is there too. No idea on if that area is ok or not.
If you read the article and what he actually said, and not just the headline, you'll see his view/stance is pretty nuanced. He's a good person who has done some really great things not only in his community, but in other areas of the world. I see people trying to group him in with others who are simply bigots and have said some pretty dumb shit. And that's weak...

Idk I mean when you are openly disagreeing with your organization's decision to honor a LGBTQ organization during Pride month and instead opting to do a Christian night, it kinda says enough.
