so day tripper and i purchased a 12 pack of magic hat #9, 12 of dale's pale ale, and a 6-pack of old chub yesterday. it seems like that will be a decent amount, given that we are sure to stop by the broo'ers festival... but can anyone recommend a good craft beer that we can pick up on the way? maybe in kentucky or tennessee that you can't find up north... thinking something along the lines of an IPA...
bluegrass brewing company (BBC) has some great beers out of kentucky, but not sure if any are in cans...their bourbon barrell beer is delicious!
I was at the package store today and saw a couple of Cisco beers in cans. Whale Tale, an English pale ale. Then there was Sankaty Light, which is self explanatory. Just I doubt they'll let you bring 12 packs on planes.
So I might end up with Yuengling once I get to TN. Unless one of you fellow New Englanders has an abundance of Gansetts...

I am probably gonna bring lone star, fat tire and shiner I think. Still need to buy some. Lone Star is way cheaper in Austin than Fort worth. Heading home from Austin tomorrow.
i like that sweet action. surprised they have it in a can
They just started canning Sweet Action, Rightious Rye, Bengali Tiger and The Crisp the monday before memorial day weekend. Its shockingly good from the can, but at the same time I'm not surprised it is since it's Sixpoint.

The Shiner Blonde in a can was my staple beach beer while in south Teaxs a couple years back, good stuff!
I saw Avery beers in cans today at the store, 6 pack of their IPA for 12 bucks.
I love the Avery cans. I've tried the IPA and their Brown Ale. Both are fantastic.
Another great option is to get a mini-keg of Bell's Oberon.
BTW, are mini-kegs allowed? I always bring one, but somebody told me today that Roo is more strict this year about what you can bring. I didn't see anything about that on their website, but she insisted it was there somewhere.
There are mixed reviews, but I personally like the smoothness and every-so-slight cherry base to National Bohemian aka Natty Boh. If you stop through MD I suggest picking up a pack, it's a locally founded Baltimore beer so it's super cheap!!
I got all my beer ready ended up with a 24 of High Life 12 of Coors and went looking for some better beer today found a 6 of castle and a 6 of witterkerke in cans. I feel like I dont have enough compared to some people ive seen on here taking like 60 beers per person!

Straub beer brewed in St. Marys, Pa is the most refreshing beer I know of, especially when ice cold. It has no added sugar, salt or preservatives, so it doesn't get you hung over, (unless you go really really overboard)
The best part is, a few years ago they started putting it in cans, so it's officially Bonnaroo approved. Check it out if you're ever in western PA.

Just thought of this and wanted to note it in here for everyone who looks next year, and for me to remind myself. Point Brewery's Nude Beach was fucking amazing in the heat. Enough taste, not heavy and refreshing. Will upgrade from a twelve pack to twenty four pack for 2012. They're from Wisconsin and I'm not sure of their distro ring. Also very cheap!
I took Blue Moon in cans this year...was lucky to find it at Krogers...looked for Magic Hat #9 and never saw it.....by far Blue Moon is my fave I have found in cans here...But then I LOVE unfiltered wheat beer that is light and spicy! ;D

Two white beers (they'll work for your description) to keep your eyes open for...
^^^ Thanks! I will DEFINITELY keep an eye out for those! My only other choice (since I REFUSE to do Hoegaarden in bottles ) is Shock Top...and meh.....
I know several of the local groceries stores carry Boulevard of some kind, I'll keep an eye out for the ZON, and the Avery also looks familiar, though I don't remember the name.....but always on the lookout for some good Belgian ales! Speaking of which, does anyone live where they sell Leffe Brun? Cause all we got here is Leffe Blonde and I like the Brun MUCH better!
