Also watching, this set has been amazing. Is it me or is the volume waaaay too low?
Also, I have a wristband IN MY HAND! And I'm at home with a really bad stomach virus. It's like the powers to be just did not want me to see MMJ at Bonnaroo as I missed 2008 in a similar fashion.

That really really blows dude. I'm sorry to hear.
I agree. The volume is way too low. I was cranking the shit out of it on my speakers and it never felt loud enough
I ended up front row in the pit in front of Carl and thought the show was amazing. The only bad part was the fact they only had a 2 hour time slot. They rocked through some new songs along with a good amount of the classics. Magheetah and Steam Engine were unreal. Only thing I was hoping for were some covers or Dondante but not enough time.

I can't begin to express how amazingt this show was. So I just want to thank everyone in the pit for their great vibes and kindness. I proposed to my girlfriend during steam engine, she said yes. Absolutely amazing show and weekend. Thank you all!
"Love need not be a command nor faith a dictum. I am my own god. We are here to unlearn the teachings of the church, state, and our educational system. We are here to drink beer. We are here to kill war. We are here to laugh at the odds and live our lives so well that Death will tremble to take us." — Charles Bukowski
Totally awesome man. Congrats. Did you do it during that particularly epic glow stick war during the song? Cause that whole experience of seeing Steam Engine and having hundreds of glow sticks wizzing by me was surreal and one of the best moments I've had at a show at Bonnaroo.
That is one epic engagement. My friend got engaged at the Silent Disco this year. Bonnaroo set him up and had them do it through the head phones and had people filming for what the girl thought was a documentary for the 10 yr reunion.
That glow stick war was awesome. I was front row and saw the bouncer yell "OhShit" and look in amazement. I turned around to see thousands flying. Tell me that was for your enagement.
The cutting in the pit line was unreal for this set. I got in and got a great spot but I feel bad for the people who were behind me that might not have. Incredible show, the opening horns for Victory Dance is possibly my favorite Roo moment for the year.
Emoney serves more of a purpose than any of you, especially Nate, whose incessant, garbled ramblings are so mindless and pointless that I get depressed just seeing them.
Such an amazing show. I was also in the pit, over on the far side by the VIP hill. I really wish they could have kept on going, because it was so obvious they still had more left in them. Oh well - they'll come out with a new album in a few years and be back as a headliner or maybe late night on What.
Titanium Exposé - congratulations and best wishes! I can hardly think of a more beautiful way to start your engagement.

Here is my video from the pit of Steam Engine, got some great glowstick war footage. Had to stop recording early after one of the bouncers saw my camera at the end of the song.

Got the pit for this show. My first time really being in the pit (not just walking in towards the end of a set). I was with rdk0r and Ol' Dirty. Had a smile on my face the entire time. Just magical.
And I knew they'd play with Preservation Hall Jazz Band (who didn't play with them this weekend lol?)
Only slight disappointment for me was earlier in the day Jim James cancelled his advertised performance in the movie tent with Preservation Hall after they screened the documentary about the pres. hall. It was a good movie and the performance from the jazz band was awesome as well......but it was clear most people were there (and waited a while) to see Jim James with the band in a small setting. After the jazz band got off stage the entire crowd stood on it's feet for like 5-10 minutes watiting for something......either Jim James or an announcement that he wouldn't be there. Eventually someone said he cancelled to rest up for the show later. Understandable......just a slight disappointed. I know Belgian Manders was really looking forward to seeing it (leading a lot of "JIM JAMES" chants).
Amazing co-headlining show though. This >> Primus (and LED drops/parachutes) >> Arcade Fire was pretty amazing.

I agree... I imagined this night in my head for months leading up to last weekend and it ended up being even better than I thought possible. At the last minute I decided that I would head out of MMJ to catch an hour of Primus so that I could see the shows with my friends and meet up with my gf for Arcade Fire. After the amazing first hour of their set, I realized leaving MMJ at that point was going to be one of the hardest decisions I've ever made, and that if I ever get to meet Jim James that's what I'd tell him.
I ended up leaving and enjoying the hell out of Primus while walking around the which stage field upset that I had not remembered how many people would be around the huge bobbleheads where I was supposed to meet some friends. I regret after hearing the rest of the MMJ stream that I was not there in the good spot I had, but realized that I will never listen to Primus the same way and gained a new favorite band to put on throughout the year from that show.
We gave up on finding my gf about half an hour before arcade fire and was still able to get in the very end of the pit, which was awesome.
I enjoyed Arcade Fire but definitely left that field feeling like only half of MMJ was better than AF's whole show. Arcade Fire didn't really mix up their set list or jam out their songs in a different way. I kind of felt like it was the same show I had seen online several times this year.... although it was still very enjoyable
It seemed to me, though, that the crowd responded much more positively to MMJ who continues to improve on their classics and throw in surprises to every show. It also seemed to me that MMJ cared a lot more about being at Bonnaroo than Arcade Fire did and the entire experience, as a whole, made me a bigger MMJ fan than I ever thought I could be. It was a Friday night I'll never forget.
