I just tagged all my friends that were in our campsite! out campsite is the Orange, Grey and 2 green ezups and tents all around. (on the right hand side, kinda in the middle)
The way my friends and I got camping only was pretty lucky and hopefully none of you think its a bad move that we did it this way....
We entered roo this year through the I24 entrance around 9pm wed night. Eventually traffic lead us to that road right beside camping only and the ferris wheel and etc. After realizing this, it just came to me. Pull over and take out everything! So I pulled over and my buddies grab the ez ups an tents and find the best spot! We had the car cleared out in about 2 min. After saying this though I don't think its a good idea for everyone to be doing this. But for anyone who is as serious about getting camping only as I am, do it like this.

I am starting to get a bit worried after reading this thread. I'll be coming in on a flight from Calgary, Canada 1030pm Wednesday night and was planning to take a hotel near the airport and get the 1st shuttle on Thursday morning to get into TO, but it sounds as if I might be SOL by the time I arrive..? If I were to rent a car instead and get there (guessing) at midnight or 1am am I likely to be able to find some open ground? It will be me alone or possibly with one other person.
Oh hell yeah! I'll be seeing you again this year?!? My friend who got a motel last year has decided to do TO after scoping our sweet sweet spot and realizing he pissed away hundreds of dollars for not that much convenience.

Yeah, don't sweat it dude, I fly in from Edmonton the last 2 years. Shuttle got us there around 1130 Thursday, still room to squeeze in a 3-4 man tent . Make friends with Camp Inforoo, and bring some maple syrup, they might save you a spot.
I'll bump this because some Bonnanoob started a thread with this question, and I think it's a valid one:
"Hi, newbie here who will be heading down from Ohio I plan on showing up Wednesday evening and moving directly to Tent-only with two friends of mine. From what I can gather from reading numerous posts on this board, I should be able to easily grab a tent only if I show up at this time, but my question is more in regards to how tent-only works. Will there be enough space to set up a tent as well as a canopy next to our tent? I would like to have room to set up a little hang out spot next to my tent and not be stuck to just the tent itself. Any seasoned vets able to tell me how it works? It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!"
I'm also a "Bonnanoob", haha, and I've got a camp-size-related question. So, if my camp is going to be around 10+ people with a few medium-sized tents and a handful of EZ ups, would it be safer to get into the actual campgrounds whenever the gates open Wednesday night (and probably get placed in BFE, according to what everyone's saying on other threads) and just snag a place in line until TO opens or to just get into the campgrounds early Thursday and hope that we get a good general camping spot (not BFE) and make it to TO in time to have enough space?
You guys saying that TO fills up fast has me paranoid now that we won't get a spot.
From what I have read tent only opens up with the festival for the pas couple of years. The 8am Thursday thing was for when the festival didn't officially open until Thursday a couple of years back. As far as space I'm not sure as last year was my first and we did car camping. This year we have 7 people in our group and plan on bringing 3 ez ups and either one large tent and a small tent or 3/4 smaller tents.

We're all hopin' that there will not be a quarantine in BFE this year!

Hey! I'm trying to decide if I should do tent only or join a groop camp. I'm going solo this year and want to have the best opportunity to meet people so I don't have to go to shows alone. Any suggestions?
Come to Camp Inforoo. Groop camping's a $cam. We'll have contact info and an organized set-up scheme as June approaches. You're right at the gates of Centeroo. Brunch comes to you. Everyone looks out for each other and hits shows together.

Sorry, I'm not familiar with camp inforoo. Where can I sign up? Sounds great
Basically, ya park where they stick you. Grab some gear and head down towards the Arch. Find the city of weirdos. We'll have a beacon of some sort. Borrow a wagon to make one trip back to yr car for tent, cooler, ect. It's a great spot and the effort you make in the first few hrs pays off the rest of the weekend in less treks to BFE and good company.

I'm going solo too, and planning on joining up with camp inforoo. Camp with us and I'll go see a show or two or three with ya

Great! Sounds like camp inforoo is the place to be! I'm so excited.
Hey I have some questions for anyone that would like to give me some Good advice. I have camped with my car so far in my Roo travels and to be totally honest it blows. I am getting there this year around 6-8pm Wednesday evening. Is Tent City open at that time? Also I am assuming there should be alot of room at that point, which leads to my next question. We have about 6-8 or us total coming this year, how much space is acceptable for us to grab up. Most like 3-4 tents and then was thinking about a shade cover in the middle maybe like a 12x12 (would like to go bigger however). Let me know what you think inforoo! I am excited, can't believe its not until June.
Thanks, Yenoom
PS - We are from CT and driving the entire way down (what-a-haul-aroo)....and one of our group is from AZ (bitches be crazy)!!!! PSPS - We have multi tools and are extravagant Knot tirer peoples...So if you are in Tent City and need help setting up on Thursday scream for Yenoom ill come to the rescue.
Out of curiosity, is it better for tent only to go in Thursday morning? I've had some thoughts about doing this and just hanging around walmart for longer. Last year I went in on Wednesday and got stuck in BFE quarantine zone, however I just fell asleep pretty early and woke up very early and moved to tent only just fine. I will be joining camp inforoo again this year as well.
