Hey I have some questions for anyone that would like to give me some Good advice. I have camped with my car so far in my Roo travels and to be totally honest it blows. I am getting there this year around 6-8pm Wednesday evening. Is Tent City open at that time? Also I am assuming there should be alot of room at that point, which leads to my next question. We have about 6-8 or us total coming this year, how much space is acceptable for us to grab up. Most like 3-4 tents and then was thinking about a shade cover in the middle maybe like a 12x12 (would like to go bigger however). Let me know what you think inforoo! I am excited, can't believe its not until June.
Thanks, Yenoom
PS - We are from CT and driving the entire way down (what-a-haul-aroo)....and one of our group is from AZ (bitches be crazy) PSPS - We have multi tools and are extravagant Knot tirer peoples...So if you are in Tent City and need help setting up on Thursday scream for Yenoom ill come to the rescue.
While I don't think Car Campin' sucks, if you get parked out in a spot like Super BFE (POD 11/Family Guy) it can be a real schlep to Centeroo. With the gates now officially openin' on Wednesday night since last year I'd say around 6-8pm there's a decent chance you'd get parked in POD 1/007. I think all of us who were there last year hope that they won't quarantine us in POD 1 Wednesday night as Tent Only is open at that time. And yes there is room aplenty at first, but space goes fast. Especially in TO I would say be as conservative as you can with your camp setup, as the size seems to shrink every year. If you have a decently sized setup don't hog it all and be friendly with sharin' shade and space with others in TO.
Out of curiosity, is it better for tent only to go in Thursday morning? I've had some thoughts about doing this and just hanging around walmart for longer. Last year I went in on Wednesday and got stuck in BFE quarantine zone, however I just fell asleep pretty early and woke up very early and moved to tent only just fine. I will be joining camp inforoo again this year as well.
Again, hopefully early arrivals that get parked in BFE/007 will be allowed out this year to reach TO and the Volunteer camps, but don't count on it. Wednesday night is becomin' a crapshoot on parkin'. Thursday mornin' might not be bad, but space in Tent Only goes fast!
We will hold extra spots around Camp Inforoo for singles and small groups until Thurs afternoon. I'll spread out tarps and air mattresses and lawn furniture and shitt and make lots of noise so people will know to stay clear. No worries. Works every year.

Well since the "likely attendees" list keeps shrinking by the minute for us, we may try and be in TO also. But were getting there Wednesday night, early am Thursday. I'll have two pop up shelters, one for shading my tent, and one as the porch area.

I am having information overload, first time newbie. We are currently planning on coming in Wednesday night. Originally planned on Car camping but with the limited space for our group of 2 we decided to go TO.
If we arrive Wednesday night at 7pm, when can we get into TO and set up camp?

You probably won't have an issue gettin' into TO. But if you get parked in POD 1 there is a chance they won't let you out until much later.
But I wouldn't worry about one car and space fer two people. I've done one car with four and we were just fine on space.

Thansk for the replies, I think we have resigned ourselves to Tent only my tent is 6x8 plus an 10x10 ez-up and throw in a second tent I don't want to be without the space we need. I have heard that car you only get a 10x10.
Anyway we are hoping to join the folks at CampInforoo. Countdown is on!
Yeah car campin' you get roughly 10x10 space in front or behind your car. Could be more, could be less. Always helps to be friendly with your neighbors. Anyway, join us at Camp Inforoo! Good times are guaranteed!
Me and a buddy are flying into Nashville thursday around noon planning on taking the shuttle. Obviously since we don't have a car, there's no need for us to camp with those who have cars. But apparently tent-only camping fills up super quick.
Can someone let me know how far away from centeroo we'll end up being? I mean its just me and a buddy and probably the cheapest tent in the world, so would it be possible to set-up in tent-only.

Tent only is directly outside of the front entrance to Centeroo.

Never done tent only, but my guess is you'd be able to find space for a small tent. However, have you considered any other shade? If you haven't read up already, you may want to check out some other threads here, with a bunch of goodies compiled in this one: inforoo.com/thread/24585/useful-threads-first-timers
Don't underestimate how hot a tent can get, and how ridiculously early it can become unbearable. You can mess up a lot of things and still survive your first time (like most of us!), but shade and more info found here can take you from merely surviving to really having a blast. Sleep deprivation and sunburn can really ruin a looong weekend.

It was the funniest thing last year. Got all set up with Camp Inforoo in Tent Only then went to bed Wednesday night with plenty of space all around. Slept like the dead that night and woke up the next morning to people everywhere around us! It was our first year and we had no idea that you basically camp with zero lot lines. One of the people we had met the night before (Canada Ben?) poked his head in our tent and said we should come out and see what had happened over night. It was a total shock but totally awesome. It was then that we realized the whole flow and vibe of the Farm is just different, awesome different, made me want to change my way of thinking... Here's a good pic of Tent Only from last year.
2nd Roo, last year I drove in and camped in 007, had a good time but kinda a long walk. This year I'm flying into Nashville early Thursday morning and hoping to get the first shuttle at 9am, and be on the farm around 10:30ish. For you TO veterans I have two questions.
1) Is 10:30 too late to get a spot with camp inforoo? I might have 1 or 2 other people with me. And all we'll have is 3 tents and a EZ up.
2) Since were flying obviously we can't bring an ice cooler. What do you guys recommend I do about keeping beer(And I suppose water) cold?
Any info would be appreciated! And if these questions have been asked my apologizes
You're just too young to grasp how stylin' I really was. All the boys wanted to do me when I was 5. Actually the girls did too. My haircut was confusing.

I don't think I saw it addressed anywhere here. Has anyone brought their own shower into TO? And if so how do you go about your business? I imagine that taking a sun shower in there wont take up much space but my concern would be the start of a mudpit in the middle of someone else's campsite.
This will be my second roo and last time I regretted not bringing a shower along.

Feel free to slap me if I'm missing something obvious here or this has been clarified elsewhere, but what is to stop everyone in a vehicle but the driver from bailing with cart and supplies somewhere before the gates and proceeding into TO to avoid a possible quarantine situation?
Same thought as skellington. Why not just have every one jump out when your as close as possible to TO and stake your claim? Then the drivers can meet up with them later if they get quarantined? Also as bad as the quarantine seems to have been, do you think they will make the same mistakes twice?

we pulled over out of line right beside camping only, got out stuff out and found a spot. Waited for about an hour and some parking people told us to get back in line. By the time that happened they were done sending people to pod 1. I don't suggest many people doing this... but it worked for me
I assume Manchester police would ticket or tow your car
Well there would be the driver who would park it and rendezvous later.
How far away are you going to park? Like on I24? because then I think the cops will ticket or tow your car.
Or do you mean this,
1. driver drop off passengers who go in the tent only entrance 2.and driver goes through the regular checkpoints and parks 3. After parking driver goes to tent only and meets up.
That could work as long as they don't go around campsites checking who's car is who's which would be a first as far as I know.

I really hope they don't do the quarantine thing again this year... It really didn't even make much sense.
I think pod one fills in with bushy branch rd entrance people, and it's to the left of that entrance, so honestly I'd just suggest sticking to one of the rightmost lanes to avoid it. Although that also makes you and easy choice for the random police search.

I think from the way Bonnaroo worded the rescinded new TO policy we can expect a POD quarantine similar to last year. They may let those folks out again in the wee hours of the mornin', but not before.

Exactly. Expect a quarantine if you're parked in BFE. If you find yourself being directed down Woodland Ave on Wednesday your headed to BFE. Considering the backlash they got from all us folks who were caught in the quarantine last year I'm thinking they may park us in SUPER BFE. The leading theory as to why the quarantine happened at all was that they were still working on Centeroo and needed the roads clear in that area for heavy machinery. Parking us early birds in super bfe would prevent the need for it to happen again. th3int3rn3t I wouldn't fret much if you do get parked in BFE though. Just make your way out in the early morning hours.
Also I don't think it matter's what entrance you come in. When they were parking me in BFE last year they were directing traffic coming in from 2 different directions. Those folks obviously didn't come in the same toll booth I did.
im 100% fine with pods 9,10,11... but last year when we got there in 3 cars all of us right next to each other, I got parked in 11, one of us got 10, and the other got 1. hopefully they'll put me in 11 for the third year in a row, and we can just wagon our junk to TO and be set up early wednesday night.

Consider this: something you could break down and pack away, or even use certain similar models as luggage...

We for one are super happy that they went back on what they said about tent only this year. We really weren't looking forward to ditching our car somewhere in Manchester and having to (hitch)hike in, just to get TO.
