De La Soul would be so great... I have a feeling they would be stuck in a Tent.. I would love to see them on Which but I can't think of an appropriate time slot

I think De La Soul could be a daytime stage act, but even if they were in a tent it wouldn't take anything away from their set. I'm surprised they have never played Roo. (They haven't right?)
Well why not throw it out there- I think she's more likely for Coachella but Lauryn Hill has lined up a tour and seems to be making a comeback. I'd be happier if this was a Fugee's reunion but it'd probably be a good afternoon set

I would be estatic with a Lauren Hill appearance...but I dream about a fugees reuinion
damn son, i must have mistaken my own skin tone then. hmm.. i've been in the dark for 15 years about my whiteness - shit, do I get free moneybags with my conversion or do I just get my hip-hop pass taken away.
You're right. Well I'm sure they would be welcomed back.
They were solid in 2005, but they did too much of the "play a couple bars of a song, then switch it up" nonsense. They kept teasing the goddamned intro to "Stakes is High" and barely played the actual song, and they had everyone screaming the intro to "Ego Trip" but only did a couple bars of it...things like that.
They were still pretty good, and they turned the whole stage into a giant dance party by the end of their set (seriously - there were probably 100 people up there), but I was surprised they weren't much, much better.
They played an incredible show at Rock the Bells NYC 2009, where they played each track longer (very few of them got cut in the middle actually) but maybe that's the hometown audience factor. Hopefully they have kept their show more in that vein because while they have a lot of songs - hearing all of Ego Trip obviously is preferred.
Meh, I was just making a joke about him listing the hip-hop groups that all my white friends like, but then he had to throw in the "hip-hop that real hip-hop fans like," which infers that both a) people who don't like that stuff aren't real hip-hop fans, and b) that other hip-hop isn't "real."
i wasnt saying that other hip-hop isnt real or if you like it your not a real fan. all im saying is i would like to see some underground hip-hop at bonnaroo this year. i like mainstream stuff too but not as much as i do indie artists. i would love it if dr.dre, outkast, wu-tang or lauryn hill was at the farm. plus who do you get after JAY-Z! come on its a little hard to top that.
**EDIT** It seems that they have taken their website down... :/ The album kicked ass and would be incredible live, no?
I think if this was going to happen, it would have happened last year - I'm actually surprised that with the Black Keys having played late night that Bonnaroo didn't ask them to do a split Keys/Roc set. I mean, it would logistically involve getting a bunch of MCs there to perform, but in 2007 Galactic managed to bring out Blackalicious, the Coup, Chali 2na, Lyrics Born, etc., so I'm sure Blakroc could have trotted out Mos, Pharaoh Monche, et al.
In any case, I think that ship has sailed, unless they decide to do another Blakroc album, but I thought it was probably just a one-off.
I agree. I actually thought it was going to happen last year. It seemed really plausible that at least Mos Def would make an appearance for a few songs, especially considering he has made appearances with Jay Elec, who also performed on Friday.
I would be down for a new album and appearance at Bonnaroo, but at this point it seems highly unlikely.

You and me both. Even if it wasn't that good I would still love to see it.
Blakroc would be great. There are rumbling of a new album in the works that features Wiz Khalifa, The Cool Kids, Jay Electronica, and the Disco Biscuits. But in all honesty I would take The Black Keys back at the farm in any form.
anyone else think that Dr.Dre might be at the farm this year. back in 09 there was a bunch of rumors that he would come out with snoop. this didnt happen but with the release of Detox in Feb im starting to get a good feeling that he could be a headliner for Friday night. just a thought what do guys think?
Das Racist - I think they would be a hit at Roo considering the response and type of crowd they receive at live shows.
Freddie Gibbs - Would love to see Gangsta Gibbs there but I may be in the minority. Not an obvious fit but why not.
Any member of the Def Jux Label - I want to say Cage but not if he's going to come Emo'd out or with his annoying entourage. Rumors have surfaced that he's releasing an album similar to his old musical style in early 2011. So if this is the case, I'm all for it. If not, stay home and cuddle with Shia.
MF Doom - I'm definitely in the minority with this one, but let's give him a chance and hope he doesn't burn us. But then again, he is a supervillain.
Black Milk - Bring some Detroit associates along too.
Blu & Exile - To me this makes sense for Bonnaroo.
OFWGKTA- Huge stretch but I suspect by summer 2011 these young dudes will be heavy in many backpackers & hipsters rotation.
Buck 65 - I always said he would be a great fit for Roo.
Peanut Butter Wolff, Madlib, Aloe Blacc or a few other members of Stones Throw Records.
RjD2 - Obvi.
Sean Price - Need at least one "hardcore" act on one of the smaller stages to represent hip-hop.
Rakim Allah - Super Obvi.
Louis Logic - Strong live performer, loves to tour.
Kool Keith - I want him to throw fried chicken into the crowd.
If Dre was at Bonnaroo, he's more likely do a DJ set. Which, I think would be stellar. To do a stage show, though, he would have to have a lot of guests with him, and that doesn't seem realistic. Any thoughts?

I don't think this is realistic at all. If he's main staging Bonnaroo, the masses (and AC Entertainment for that matter) would expect him to do a "traditional" show, whether it's with or without a ton of appearances.
I would love a DJ set, not going to happen though.
Yeah but Dre doesn't have too many songs in his catalog he does alone. So he would have to have a pretty large posse with him. Plus, all of his best hit songs have huge name rappers in them. So he would have to have a large name with him. Snoop, Eminem, T.I.'s been in a lot of his new stuff. A DJ set sounds more realistic than anything else. I just don't think he'll be there.

This is a good point why I doubt we will see Dre at Roo but can see how Coachella is a possibility if something actually gets released... ...
