I'm in for sure. I've had my ticket for a while. I'm doing car camping with my wife and another couple. There are quite a few people on the Coach board that are inforoosters too.
It's a shame that they're allowed to call themselves a festival when on site camping isn't included and that they have already run out of camping.
what a fail of a festival.
lol @ the music stopping at 1.
Some of us would prefer not to have to deal with camping, so I am grateful that they don't tack on extra to the ticket for it. I much prefer sharing a hotel or house and pay the same amount and have access to actual amenities.
-When I Hear My Name -Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground -Blue Orchid -Passive Manipulation -Red Rain -Death Letter -My Doorbell -Hotel Yorba -Same Boy You've Always Known -Lovesick -Little Ghost -We're Going to Be Friends -The Hardest Button to Button -Black Math -The Nurse -I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself
Encore: -Ball and Biscuit -Seven Nation Army -Screwdriver
^ right? I think my initial reaction to the lineup was biased because I don't like the Strokes that much. But this lineup gets pretty epic if you actually like KoL and/or the Strokes. I think Juggs and NoD posted the lineup in this thread or elsewhere that was just as a plain list and it actually looked way better to me than looking at the poster. I mean I would personally pay around $300 to see:
Animal Collective *Arcade Fire* Best Coast Broken Social Scene Bright Eyes *Cee Lo* Cold War Kids *DFA 1979* Empire in the Sun Ericka Badu Flogging Molly *Gayngs* Interpol Jenny and Johnny Jimmy Eat World *Kanye* Lauryn Hill Leftfeild Magnetic Man ORL One Day as a Lion Phantogram Raphael Sadiq Sleigh Bells The Black Keys The Chemical Brothers Titus Androncitus
Wow, 27 bands? I didn't think there were that many I wanted to see at Coachella. I only caught like 15 at Roo last year. ( I left early Sunday morning.)
i could find 30 i want to see on almost any fest lineup. and i would definitely go to this coachella if i could. but that still blows my mind that with this lineup this thing is going to sell out so fast.

That's if they are telling the truth. While it was a new festival and very different than Coachella - the Nateva festival kept saying that tickets were selling out soon and they never really did last year.
Is it possible that they put that in the interview/article to get more people to buy tickets?
Also, I totally agree with you about the "30 bands" thing. Every single festival I look at (Coachella, Roo, Lolla, Roth, Nateva, Mountain Jam) tend to have a bunch of acts I'd really like to see.

you could be right. i don't know if they really have a true sell out point. like bonnaroo usually says the week before the fest that it's sold out. but is it really? who knows.
^don't be such a downer! i am surprised it sold out so quickly too, but this lineup is pretty good. it is better than last years bonnaroo IMO. you don't like to camp, you don't like the lineup.....why are you even going?
edit: sorry, i am not trying to be grouchy i would just like to use this thread to get advice for coachella instead of complaining (we already have a lot of those threads ).
so with that note....does anyone have any advice for a first time coachellaer??

off the top of my head biggest thing to remember, its cold at night colder then you would think
although I've never been to Coachella I lived in the California Mojave desert for a stint as a kid, and I will vouch for the above. It can get surprisingly chilly when the sun goes down in the spring and fall.

I wasn't complaining. I am going and I am excited about it. I like the lineup, but it is hard to argue that the top of the lineup, which draws the majority of people to these festivals, is extremely weak. I would say easily the weakest headliners and sub headliners in the festival's history (outside of 2001). Last year's lineup was a lot stronger, and it took until March to sell out.

I know the Lay Away option may have changed some things.....but holy shit. After all of the horror stories from last year and then they sell out in 6 days with THIS lineup. All hail the power of hipsters....no offense to my fellow inforoosters, you know what you are getting yourselves into. KOL, Kanye, and AF sell out a California festival in 6 days.....just crazy.
