If I understand this correctly you have to pay for a ticket and a campsite as well ? Am I correct if so that reason alone is a huge turn off for me. Some one please clarify for me.

So where does the actual music event take place in reference to the camp site? Walking, taxi.helicopter, please do tell as well as other amenities at the camp grounds.?

Ha, but seriously, it's a relatively small space, much cheaper than any other alternative around that particular fest and is nicer than Roos. We are kind of spoiled with the free camping, but I honestly much preferred Coach's.
So is it all tent only? How far is the walk to the venue? Can you cook at your tent? What are food and beer prices like?
No theres a tent only area and regular car camping. The camping area is very small in relation to Roo but I will agree its much nicer. The showers are free though I did have a horrible shower experience last year. Its all walking distance to the venue definitely no BFE like Roo. Plus the camping area has a seperate stage/tent that has djs spinning when the main venue closes. Last year I camped very close to the entrance. First row back from the scoreboard. walk was about 5 min from our campsite to the entrance.
You can cook at your campsite and food beer is just like Roo. Was happy when there was a spicy pie vendor right next to our campsite
^^^ So in your oppinion Coachella is compareable to roo?
Ummmm I feel like this is a trick question. No its not comparable besides the fact they are 2 music festivals and food/beer prices are similar lol. Vibe, crowd, logistics, camping, weather, size....everything is different.

If you prefer amazing sound, electronic music, and cleanliness than no it's not comparable.
If you like collaborations, trash/heat/clicks, and music well past midnight than no it's not comparable.
They each have their own flavor and I love them both. But if Goldenvoice would just extend chella's music hours, than it would easily receive my vote for favorite festival (which is basically the case regardless)...
In just 20 days I'll be flying out to Ontario International.
Oh how I have missed my beloved polo fields!!!!

This may sound petty, but to me, a major downer of the festival was the beergarden system. Not being able to walk around freely with my $7 beer is ridiculous.

Wait a minuet I pay 12 dollars for a 24oz beer at spac(Saratoga Springs Performing Arts Center N,Y) and uou are restrained to a beer garden for SOME of the concerts they hold. Love the venue HATE the beer garden

i am from palm springs so i have never camped in all of the eight years i have been, but everything is REALLY close together compared to what i have gathered about 'roo (this will be my first year). i think the polo grounds are just generally smaller than the farm, but that's just my opinion/perception.
food is really expensive, beer is really expensive... but everything is more expensive in california vs most other states so that's not surprising.

Other than that, Coachella is awesome.
AGREED. i usually have only ended up drinking some because of this, although we are notorious for sneaking margaritas out of the vip food area in frozen lemonade cups.
you want to camp at coachella as the traffic getting in and out is MISERABLE.
Should we not expect long lines at festivals? Thought it pretty much came with the territory...
besides, it's improved DRASTICALLY since they widened jefferson. omg when that was two lanes ah...
edit: and, there are SO MANY freeway exits throughout the coachella valley, do a little google-maps planning and you could easily cut a big chunk of time off your trip if planning on entering the festival at peak times.

I'm a bit nervous. I got one email saying they are coming on 4/5, but the tracking number says the item has not been picked up yet. I sold mine so I must turn around and ship them to those that purchased the tickets. Also, I read they are shipping the camping pass and the wrist bands separately? Anyone else have that happen?
SO, my tracking has not even been updated. In the event they are lost in the mail, the only option I will have is to do Will Call in Cali. Which means refunding money and likely calling in or quiting my job. That said, anyone have room for camping?!
