Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Yeah, you'd have a tough time getting me to another fest with Kanye headlining, to begin with. Throw in KOL (still can't figure out how they became headliner material), and it seals the deal as a no-go for me.
Arcade Fire-- I love em, but are they really at the Saturday-night-headline/biggest-band-at-a-national-fest level? Kinda the same way I felt about Portishead a few years back, but then Coach added Prince. I'm guessing something similar has got to be in the works.
See, I completely disagree. Look, if Arcade Fire is touring, maybe they average 14K at arena shows, attendance wise. However, at an environment like Coachella (or Bonnaroo), where you have 80,000 people with fairly similar music tastes converging on one spot? They can absolutely headline.
Far too often people look for a headliner that has wide mass appeal, which is the wrong way to go about it. Look at your key demographic, the people that will likely make up the majority of your crowd, and find an act that suits them. Similar to how I think My Morning Jacket should and could headline Bonnaroo.
Well put, couldn't agree more. The man is on fire today...
Which Coachella bands would you like to see at the farm? For me I would love if Empire of the Sun and DFA 1979 were at roo. I highly doubt DFA will be but here's hoping.
I missed the National in '07 so it would be nice to get the chance to see them again...
And yeah I imagine there are more than a few of us holding our breath for DFA 1979 @ 'roo... highly doubt it as well, but I think if you asked anyone yesterday before the line up came out they would've said the same thing about them playing Coachella

One of the things my friend mentioned was that we think that Animal collective Will move further down the list when they announce someone else on Saturday. they are good, but not a second headliner spot on saturday.
I love that Gord Downie is listed 2nd last on Sunday, he's a demigod in Canada because he's the singer for the Tragically Hip.
Granted he isn't the same draw solo as he is with The Hip... wonder if the Country of Miracles are performing with him or if they just needed to save space on the poster.
Not a bad Canadian showing eh? Arcade Fire, New Pornographers, Broken Social Scene, DFA 1979, Chromeo, City and Colour, Gord, Rural Alberta Advantage
You think Dallas and Gord will play Sleeping Sickness together during someone's set?

I'd be excited to see Arcade Fire, Lauryn Hill, Mumford and Sons and a few others....but for me it's not that exciting. I was thinking of making this year my first, but I'm a little disappointed, and now I doubt I do.
If I'm remembering correctly Coachella and Bonnaroo don't usually share Headliners. But they do share alot of undercard.
Am I right?
No, you're wrong. Coachella leans much more heavily towards indie/electronica/noise-pop than Bonnaroo ever does. There might be a few overlapping acts, but it won't be "a lot."
The average number of artists shared by Coach and Roo is about 10. Some years have reached 15, I believe, and others have been just 5 or 6.
I'm counting over 20 shared acts between Coach and 'roo last year. And I may have missed some.

Did you take all the other years overlapping acts and average them together?

Not much on the lineup I give a leno about, but a few eyebrow raisers. Big Audio Dynamite... hell yes! New Pornographers... cool. Mumford & Sons, also cool. Gogol, always awesome. Animal Collective, only late night. Everything else... meh.

The National is amazing. Saw them at Sasquatch last year and at First Ave. in Minneapolis. They are alway worth the trip to see them.
So sang and I were talking about the possibility of late-nights since they have so many more bands compared to the usual lineups.... thoughts? Possible?

I was set to make my first trip to Coachella this year...but after the lineup; meh. It's not that bad. Headliners are weak...but that isn't uncommon. There is a strong undercard. I just don't think I should drop over a grand on the weekend.
