We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

Really need to find a friend with HBO so I can watch this. I liked the first season a good amount, but I really like the direction it'll be heading with Jimmy becoming a more prominent player. Hopefully his army buddy is still with him to kick ass as well.
Can not wait until season 2. This is my favorite new HBO show along with Game of Thrones. The last episode of season 1 was the best of the season and one of the best season finales I have ever seen. You all need to get caught up.
Just finished season 2. I must admit that I liked S2 a lot less than S1. Thoughts?
I liked season two even though it lacked focus at times. Then the finale happened, I'm still hoping the scene in the rain is a dream or something because, if that is how the show is rolling forward, I will be much less likely to watch season 3.
I can't wait to see what happens with Richard Harrow. He's easily one of my favorite things about this show. Also interested to see what stuff Agent Van Alden gets into. Michael Shannon is so good at being so creepy and crazy.
I think this show is supremely underrated. I thought season 2 was absolutely brilliant, and for me put it in the Top 3-5 shows currently on television.
However, I have major doubts for how good season 3 will be, since you-know-who was a much more interesting, fully-fleshed-out character than Nucky IMO.

It's one of my top 3 shows currently airing on TV along with Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones. Love this show and can't wait for the new seaosn.
Mad Men, ITM. That's what might keep Boardwalk from the top 3. I'm with you, though. I'm not quite sure why this show hasn't gotten a little more attention. It might be too "slow" for people (in other words, you have to actually pay attention to find the depth).

The pacing is what turns people off for the most part, I think. I remember reading one of those lists of "the best shows you're not watching". The blurb about Boardwalk Empire contained something along the lines of "great if you can handle the glacial pace of the storyline".

Plus it will no longer have Aleksa Palladino, which is bad. Although this now frees her up to put out another Exitmusic album.
