Lies of P is a really fun game. Think Bloodborne but set in the world of puppets/Pinocchio. It’s heavily inspired by Demon Souls/Dark Souls/Bloodborne.

I don’t know if anyone here has any interest in cooperative games, but Josh and I have started playing It Takes Two, and it’s really fun! We also played Unraveled a couple years back and enjoyed that one as well.

BG3 Stuff:
So, last night, I realized that you can totally respec your companion characters, and I am SO GLAD because I need a thief in my party and Astarion is a dick. I ended up respec-ing Karlach into a rogue, which feels a bit weird because her personality and story is all barbarian, but since my main and Shadowheart as a life cleric can do the tanking, and since Karlach is fun to have around for her dialogue and all, it seemed like the best option. I guess the best part of this feature is that I'll be able to have the various companions in my party enough to do their companion quests without having to worry about upsetting party balance in terms of class/abilities.
Do you want to dance while also thinking about all the ways you've failed as a human?

I love Astarion. He is such an asshole in the best way. I made him an assasion rouge and he can kill someone with one hit. My character is a monk and she is stealthy AF so I don't really use him for that type of stuff. My monk robe gives me advantage on most rolls.
But I have respec'ed a few of the characters to make them stronger or what I needed at the time, but it is weird bc they just be acting like they are still whatever they used to be.
Saving up for PS5 with Spider-Man 2 pack-in and BG3. Also since I have Gow Ragnarok for PS4 I can pay ten bucks for an upgrade to PS5, which I'll also do.

final impressions on the current iteration of Starfield after 100+ hours: it's pretty good. spoiler free impressions:
i truly enjoyed the story, i was really intrigued by what was happening so i primarily pursued it instead of screwing around with side quests first like i normally do with RPGs. gun combat is just downright fun, especially with some skill points in boostpack, boosting around just blasting fools. i think the game looks beautiful. the main npcs felt real to me, and i genuinely grew fond of some of them. ship building is big time fun, and it's where i sunk most of my money. like most bethesda games eventually money comes easy, but i managed to bankrupt myself multiple times building ships, which provides incentive to grind missions from mission boards. surveying planets is also fun, and everything feels more alive and rich and alive than NMS. the most shocking thing about my playthrough is i'm still on my original character, i haven't rerolled at all, mostly because i'm enjoying my current character so much.
but there are cons!
and the first is the negative reason why i haven't rerolled. i don't see a lot of possibilities for wildly different character builds. skyrim and fallout kept me coming back because i wanted to be a thief, an assassin, a destruction mage, an illusionist, a tank, a power armor guy, a melee guy, etc. but in starfield i think i'm pretty much always going to be a gun guy? melee doesn't seem really viable (maybe i'm wrong) and you don't even need to put points into a specific gun type to be viable. i'm pistol spec but am playing on very hard now and have no problem mowing through enemies with a rifle or shotgun or laser. furthermore there are "perks" that i'll always have to take no matter what, like all of boost packs and piloting, so there are 8 skill points right there.
and the skill point system, generally, is just not that well thought out. lots of useless skills. and IMO every skill should have some super cool perk for fully investing in them. some of them do, but a lot of the skills are just "do 10%/15%/25%/30% more damage with x weapon".
also, as it stands an "evil" playthrough isn't really viable. and there is no main evil companion you can choose to accompany you. smuggling isn't worth it, piracy isn't worth it, and there aren't a ton of evil options in dialogue etc. a lot of times you have 3-4 choices and they are all some variation of being a good guy. i typically like to do a good guy run, but then a dirt bag run, and i don't think a dirt bag run would be very fun in starfield.
i love running "kill the spacer at x" missions, and was disappointed after all the talk of proc gen to find there are several POIs you go to and then they just repeat themselves. same dungeon, same enemy locations, same type of loot, hell even the same messages on computers etc. this is probably my biggest complaint, if there were numerous dungeons i could brainlessly play through missions and build ships for several months.
space is cool and i love my ships but there isn't a ton to do in space. there are lots of different gun types but i just put six vanguard obliterators on my ship and melt faces (plus some EMPs for disabling and boarding ships, which is cool). and there isn't much incentive for stealing and selling ships, you don't clear many credits after having to pay to register the ship then selling it. far and away the easiest way to get money is run missions and sell the guns you loot. in fact guns are the only loot worth picking up and selling.
part of the fun of bethesda games is picking up everything and selling it, or breaking it down for parts for crafting, but there is zero reason to pickup most things. you can't break stuff down for parts like in Fallout 4. and resource gathering/mining should be really cool, but you can just go to any general store to buy the resources you need for most crafting for the tiniest amount of money.
the randomized attributes on epic/legendary guns are cool, but in practice i pretty much get a good collection of guns fairly early on and just use those. same with spacesuits and helmets and packs. i'm not excited to find cool new gear because the shit i've had for like 40 levels is already elite.
i haven't done any outpost building yet but as it stands it feels largely useless. i'd love to build a little community for settlers like we were able to in FO4.
----
Bethesda has indicated they want a long life for this game and will continue to offer QOL improvements via patches, DLCs, etc.
a common refrain with a lot of my complaints is "modders will fix it". and i've been saying that as well. starfield is absolutely primed to be a modders dream, so much space to work with, modders could easily create entire new worlds on planets. my concern is will starfield stay popular enough for modders to care? there will be mods, hell there already are mods and we don't even have the Creation Kit yet. but how many mods? and how many of those will truly be super creative and make playing the game over and over again worthwhile?
anyway i've already gotten my money's worth, and will continue to play, but whether or not Starfield becomes a goddamn lifestyle for me like Skyrim did will depend largely on the interest and time of the modding community, and there is no way to predict how robust that will be.

Really wanted to jump into Baldur’s Gate 3 after I finished BG1 & BG2 but sounds like it’s still buggy in some parts. Considering Larian Studios has a habit of releasing “enhanced” or “definitive” versions of their more recent games a year+ after release, I think I’m gonna just wait until late next year to dive into it. I’m the type of player who only plays a game once and rarely ever plays it again so if I’m gonna do this, I’d rather play the best version of it once available. Kinda hurts to wait a bit longer on this one considering I’m also big into D&D but I think my experience will be better for it.
In the meantime, I’ve got a huge backlog of games to get through and it’ll also give me an opportunity to play Divinity: Original Sin 2 (Larian’s last game) before getting to BG3.

I've played ~120 hours and had exactly 1 bug, which idk I think it was just overwhelmed by the amount of characters in a specific battle, had a lot of animation going on and it just shut down on me. but other than that it's been cruising.

Spider-Man 2 should be arriving today. I started up a new game for Miles MOrales last night just to get the feeling back but I'm sure once I start the new one I won't be going back to Miles MOrales lol.

I got a few hours into Miles earlier this year and then realized it was sort of a Christmas game so ive been waiting to play it again so I can play it at Christmas lol

Not a bad idea. I played through a bunch of it but never finished the game. And didn't remember much of the story or anything so figured I could start fresh. But maybe I'll wait til Xmas also and then start it up after playing the new game for a while

I’ve only had 2 bugs and I’m on my way to the last battle (I’d assume) played 90+ on ps5 though

So, I've been enjoying my paladin/warlock build in BG3, but I'm beginning to slightly regret multiclassing since it means I won't get access to all the coolest shit near and at the level cap (I'm most likely going 7/5 or 8/4, depending on how I feel). Thank god for Withers, or I'd most likely be toying with starting over even though I'm almost through with Act 1.
Anyway. I'm thinking I might want to try a Circle of the Moon Druid or a Draconic Bloodline Sorcerer. Anyone play with either of those classes and think they were awesome/not so awesome?
Do you want to dance while also thinking about all the ways you've failed as a human?

You get a chance to play with a Circle of the Moon Druid if they join your party.
Outside of wildshape I wasn't a huge fan but I didn't play with either druid option enough to get a full experience with it. Either way, you'll have the chance to test it out and see if you like it soon.
