Anybody ever play DayZ? The zombie survival mod for Arma II? Pretty good stuff. Starting to get the hang of it.
I love DayZ! I haven't played in a couple weeks because I've been busy, but I really like it. I have the standalone though, not the mod. First game I've paid full price for ($30) since Diablo 3 (I'm poor) and I'm not disappointed. I'm excited to see the finished product (it's early access alpha).
Yea, I've been thinking about buying the standalone soon. The servers on the mod are all varied and sometimes hard to find people playing. Or they make it too easy and everyone has tons of guns/ammo and vehicles.

Yeah, there are definitely lots of people on the SA, so finding a full or mid-sized server isn't hard. Not to disappoint you, but even in the SA I think that too many people can find guns and ammo easily. I wish it was harder. You can fight this by joining full servers, which have less stuff (because people take it right away), but with that you have more people who will kill on sight if you have anything (or even nothing :/)... so it really only makes it harder for you, because a lot of other people will likely have guns. I prefer that over a low pop server, though. That being said, I haven't played the mod so I'm not sure about the comparison. I think they are planning to make it harder in the future as far as the gun spawn, but it's not terrible right now. (There are no vehicles yet.)
So there's this browser game that some of my buddies found a few weeks ago (I think from Reddit) called TagPro. WARNING: You won't believe how quacking addictive it is.
Anyone who plays DotA2, Infinity Wars, DayZ standalone, Loadout, paradox games, or anything else, feel free to add me on steam at steamcommunity.com/id/theforrest/
Day Z standalone is a lot of fun ITM, and if you've got some experience on the mod then you're way ahead of most new players as far as the learning curve. It can be very frustratingly bugged sometimes, from the random falling through shit to the zombies that run through walls, but updates have been relatively frequent on anything serious, and they've just laid out a very promising roadmap for development the next few quarters.

i came home friday night and got on slickdeals and saw a wii u bundle for $260 and impulse bought that shit.
i almost never spend that kinda money like that, and i've been concerned about what they're gonna put out for U in the coming future, but i decided a don't give a shit - i'ma be getting my various mario games on for the next couple months. and i'm sure once mario kart 8 rolls out i'll be glad i have it, even just for that. mario kart forever!

I did the same thing a month ago for the Zelda bundle. Since I got it I haven't touched my xbox1. I love it.

Nice. I'm thinking about getting the standalone at some point soon. Also heard Rust was good and thought about getting that. I like the DayZ mod but have seen screenshots of the standalone and think the maps and inventory and other stuff just looks a bit better. I am hoping they update a lot soon and get closer to completion.

They released a lot of new information over the past two weekends about what's on the horizon. Within this month we should have a new physics system including throwing items and the groundwork at least for bow/arrows, and a cooking system with craftable camp fires and ovens. They also added several new weapons recently. Also, they made zombies way faster and populous so if you're a new character there's actually a challenge aside from bandits.

Yea, I've been on there a little bit already. I'm still just getting used to the game....spawning and meeting people. I don't have a mic for chatting with people so it's tougher to tell them not to kill me in game lol. I typically run around, avoid zombies, and wait until I see other players. Then I get killed.

I would love too but 60$ for multiplayer only game seems kinda steep. Whattaya think of it so far? (If your playing it that is)
I'm really enjoying it. I've put about 35 hours into it and it hasn't gotten stale yet. It's very well balanced considering there are tiny pilots and giant robots. None of the multiplayer maps feel too big as a pilot or anything. They made it right.

Man I might just have to check it out when it gets a bit cheaper. The wall running/mantle system looks pretty dope I must say.
Anyone in on the Nosgoth beta? It's like a mix between Left 4 Dead and Counter-Strike and it's a ton of fun. It will eventually be free-to-play, published by Square Enix in a sorta Fox Searchlight capacity with an indie team, as far as I understand.

Yeah the world is MASSIVE! Worth the wait though man, it's an awesome game!
I just found my old PS2 in storage and it had Final Fantasy X in it. I've been replaying that for the past couple days.
I just got FFX and FFVI off of PSN for PS3 last week... still haven't started either. Whenever Dark Souls II gets old to me, they're gonna get my attention again ( didn't care much for X but I'm willing to give it another chance having been over a decade since I've played it, never beat VI but always considered among the best).
