I am planning to rejoin the world of console gaming in the near future. I'm going to get a ps 4. Which game should I get to start with? There is a destiny bundle and a battle fronts bundle. What are y'all's thoughts on this?

Last of Us, GoW, Bloodborne and (eventually) Last Guardian vs... Halo and Gears?
(Not trying to turn this into a fanboy thing, but I went from XB360 to PS4 specifically for the exclusives... Also, it's cheaper and the controller is comfier for a lot of games.)
What exclusives besides Halo and Gears are on XB? Been out of the video game loop for a while so I'm probably forgetting something obvious...

(Not trying to turn this into a fanboy thing, but I went from XB360 to PS4 specifically for the exclusives... Also, it's cheaper and the controller is comfier for a lot of games.)

last of us is a ps3 game and I can stream it to my Sony 4k TV. same for God of war series. I'll give you bloodborne as the only game Sony released worth owning in 2015 but short and unmemorable. Lol @ the last guardian since that's the same footage we saw 7 years ago for PS3 so I wouldn't hold my breath for that one til maybe 2017 if ever.
controller is subjective but xb1 wins that as well. Have you held that Xbox elite controller? It's like driving a bmw vs a kia.

I remember rdk telling me about something I could use on the PS4 store, but it's gone from my memory. I've tried the Google DNS address trick and it works intermittently.
Also, I've never played any fall out before. If someone had of told me it was basically Skyrim. but in a world where if the 50's idea of the future became real, then they nuked it, I never woulda bought it because I would have known this would happen.

LAN is the only way to go. Not sure what I told you about the ps4 store.

I went overboard on the first couple but I've got a pretty easy pattern going now. Like Sanctuary is pimped out but most of the others are generic. The Sanctuary people all have nice armor and guns, so they stop farming and kill shit.
I use that concrete foundation option under "flooring" to build my defenses. You can raise it like ten feet to help level out the homes. I just go down the line and raise them up on the borders, then put turrents up on those bitches. I'm mostly working on setting up shops and maxing out the populations.

It's not just that. It's that he is an absolute idiot out on missions. His idea of sneaking is to crouch and then run into the middle of a goddamn room! His weapon of choose has an extremely slow rate of fire yet he almost never fires from cover. He never hits anything when he does fire. And it's always best to remember that the exact opposite of what he says is true. If he says you've cleared the area then there's at least 1 enemy standing in his blind spot. Last night we were lurking in the shadows in a dangerous area. he gave the all clear while a damn Deathclaw was walking down the middle of the road. And Yes, he walked right out into the open.

That's an impressive list, but you can't really discount Last of Us and God of War as PS3 games if you're gonna count the gears remaster, rare replay, and master chief collection as XB1 exclusives. Also, I forgot the Infamous, Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted and Gran Turismo series'. I wouldn't really play any except for Uncharted, but people seem to love those franchises.

I ditched him for piper. I Just had the option to use a super mutant but I'm going to wait until I max out the piper relationship.

I was scrapping and setting up a bunch of stuff at the first one before finding out there are a ton of settlement sites to choose from. I may end up using the drive-in to set something up or find some island that others were talking about in the south-east that is a good location.
The crazy thing is I wanted to see how others set up their settlements and some people are damn amazing at this. I was shocked. Going to take a lot of time to figure out the best ways to set all things up.
I thought my settlement was coming along nicely but jesus this makes me want to scrap the whole thing and start somewhere new. Sanctuary is a pain in the ass for building.

Yea, I saw this and wanted to start a brand new character from scratch haha. You can tell some of these people are doing like 12-hour spans of gaming. The game is still so new.
I've read others say Sanctuary is tough for starting brand new. That's why I was thinking the drive-in. Just completely scrap everything in the big open field.

Really thinking about starting from scratch since I'm not very far in and now I know a bit of things that would have been useful to know from the beginning. Think I'm going to have to. Keep reading little things that make me go "duh" regarding perks and settlements and weapons.
It took me forever to find out I don't need to repair guns and armor and stuff like in Fallout 3.

I always play through again as a bad character, and usually use that knowledge on my second go around. But if your not far, go for it.

Yea, that's the other thing haha. I tend to usually be a good character my first run-through and always try to be the hero. It's always more fun when you go back through a game (Skyrim, Fallout) with a specific goal or character-build in mind. My first time playing Skyrim I added up a ton of various perks/abilities but when I learned more about the game I started over as a thief/sneaky character who focuses on ranged weapons and smaller melee items (and no magic). Makes things more interesting.
I'm tempted. We'll see. Maybe I'll keep one or two saves from my current character just in case I feel nostalgic.

That's great. I saw another one were this Swedish guy built a great structure on top of the gas station but I can't remember were I found it.
I would have done things different if I'd figured out how all the power options work. This is my main Sanctuary pics I sent my brother as I was building it. I put turbines on the roof and made finishing touches over the weekend. Now it glows in the dark and has shops lined up under the awning. Every citizen has plenty of room and those high turrets don't take much damage when attacked.
Sorry for the image quality. I'm to lazy to figure out screenshots. The first is the view from her front yard. The second is standing on the watch tower at the bridge.
I haven't built anything at the drive-in yet but you could go to town with all that flat, open space. I was thinking you could also save resources by using the screen for a wall.

I haven't even met Piper yet. haha. I was maxing out Codsworth and Garvey.
The way I understand it you won't get attacked that often if you have a strong defense score. It acts as a deterrent. When I did get a large attack at Sanctuary the fuckers didn't even make it inside the town. I was so proud of my guards and farmers.... I have no life. Anyway, the places that get picked on are the ones I'd just started and hadn't put any time in building up defenses.
